This is an absolute must visit for anyone in the Chiang Mai region. This truly is an elephant sanctuary where the owners care so much for the animals, it’s clear from their passion and knowledge that they care.
Our guide “Super Boy” as he called himself made the whole experience, good fun with lots of knowledge.
We did option 3 where we made the elephants medicine in a traditional method, fed them, walked them in the jungle for approx 1 hour, then washed the elephants in a small lake — highly recommend!

We had a beautiful trek with our guide Superboy, felt very well taken care of and really enjoyed the bamboo rafting. I’m pretty certain this will be an absolute highlight of our trip! If you enjoy hiking and being in nature, I very much recommend the 1 day jungle trek. Thanks so much!

We booked a tour that included Elephant, river rafting and waterfall.
The whole day was fabulous. Our guide Sun took us through the wonders of Elephants, which was truly amazing experience. River rafting was ok as the river was not in its prime, but still we had fun riding down the river. The day ended by going up to a waterfall. Sun took photos of us while on the tour, and we would recommend you to get those photos, they were amazing.

It was just an amazing and well organized day with the elephants, our guide Toto and the families from the farm. All in all a wonderful experience, heavily recommended! After our welcome with selfmade coffee, we had the chance to feed the elephants and get in touch with them, and then did a two hour hike through the jungle together with them. It was just amazing to see the animals in their natural habitat, freely walking around. After lunch time with tasty fried rice and fresh fruits, we were able to bath the elephants and play with them in the water. The animals are completely free, the owners do not use anything like whips, sticks or chains to force the elephants to do something they do not want.

Toto is a gem, he know how to make people happy and give them the most in their trip.
I did Mae Taeng tour which included Trekking with elephants, Water Rafting and Mok-Fa Waterfall.
It was extraordinary experience right from the start when toto came to pick from the hotel and coffee on the way.
This time it was to experience trekking with elephants and it was the most breathtaking experience i have ever had in my life followed by river rafting which added as a sense of calm and Mok Fa waterfall if something is left in adventure Mof-fa will satisfy it. Toto's elephant sanctuary is the best and covers a whole lot of jungle to give elephants their natural habitat.

My friend and I did the 2-day trip in the jungle and it was truly an experience of a lifetime. Our guide, Sansern was so funny and made our trip all the more enjoyable.
We started off our first day by visiting a beautiful waterfall, then hot springs where we were provided with a delicious lunch. From there, we embarked on our 9km trek. I recommend bringing lightweight hiking shoes and leggings for this. I wore shorts, but I was occasionally brushed with thorny bushes along the way.
The overall hike wasn't too hard. Just be sure to pack light and bring plenty of water and sunscreen with you. You will be well fed throughout your entire journey, so no need for snacks unless you would like to bring your own. It was wonderful walking through the jungle/local villages and meeting so many natives along the way. We stayed overnight with our guide's family and friends where they provided us knowledge of the food, animals, and people all around.
The next day we hiked to a nearby village where we fed, bathed, and rode two beautiful elephants! This is different than going to an elephant sanctuary where they are chained up, living altogether in an enclosed environment. After this, our guides made a bamboo raft and we floated down the river for about two hours where we saw more elephants/wildlife, other villages, and some of the biggest banana trees I've ever seen.
This was such an unforgettable experience for us and I recommend to anyone wanting to have an authentic experience of Chiang Mai!

We had a great day on our jungle trekking tour with Jimmy. We started by visiting an elephant sanctuary, where we learned a lot about elephants and we rode them (bareback) for a short while as we fed them bananas along the way. Then, of course, we washed them in the river to cool them off. Our next adventure was a 2 hour hike through the jungle to a waterfall. We should have read the description better and worn better shoes. We thought it would be a much less strenuous hike and we travel light so we did not have proper shoes. The filp flops we wore were definitely the wrong shoes. Our fault, not the guide's fault. If you choose this tour, be sure to wear proper hiking/walking shoes. There are a lot of steep climbs and descents along sometimes slippery trails. Be prepared!! We had a nice simple lunch of rice and fried chicken by the waterfall. The hike out was a different route, and not quite so strenuous. The next stop was a relaxing river rafting adventure. If I'd known we would get soaked like we did we would have worn swimsuits. We were sitting on a submerged raft, in about 2 inches of water. Not very pleasant when not wearing swim clothing. Again, be prepared! We did a similar tour a few years ago where the raft kept us dry. On that tour we actually had cushions to sit on and the raft wasn't submerged. We thought this one would be like the last time so we were completely unprepared. If you're prepared you should enjoy it much more.
Our guide, Jimmy, did a fantastic job of teaching us all kinds of interesting things along the way. He is a great tour guide.
All in all, the tour was very good.

We have chosen the one day jungle trekking because it was a good balance between spending time with the elephants and enjoying the great nature in Chiang Mai without spending 2-3 days for a real trek.
The pick up at the hotel was on time, then we drove for almost 1,5 hour (quite long at the end).
When we arrived at the "farm", we approached the elephants and started by feeding them. Then we ride for 30-45 minutes and we bathed them.
Then we took the car back and drove for half an hour to a very nice village where we started the trekking. We finally arrived to a beautiful waterfall where we stopped for swimming and for lunch (rice, fish and fruits). We continue walking in the jungle and went back to the village. We took the car again to the place where we have started the bamboo rafting. Nice and funny activity where we met two elephants in the river. You finally arrive to a place where women are waiting for you to buy souvenirs and everything, being quite insistent.
Then it's time to go back in the car for the drop off at your hotel.
The day was great but I was not comfortable the all time with the elephants. First, the elephants were chained with small space to move. Second, when we were feeding them, one of them was a little bit scared and was not staying in front of us so one of the guy was forcing him by pulling his ear. Third, during the riding, I was at the back of the elephants and the three guys were walking being him and one of them stayed the all time very closed to the back of the elephants and had something in his hand like a slingshot he was trying to hide. Plus all of them had a hook in their little bag. We asked them and they assure us it was only to control the elephants and that the elephants had no scarf of anything (actually one of them was hurt on his forehead. They told us it was because the elephant hurted himself with a tree. Might be right or true but we will never know).
To sum up, we had a good day but if you are carrying about elephants wellness and want to be sure they are well treated, be aware that you might feel quite uncomfortable. I was really exciting about approaching elephants when coming to Thailand and it was quite of the part of the trip I was waiting for the most. And I'm very disappointed of that part of the day.

On this 2-day trip in the jungle we bathed in cold and hot springs, walked up and down mountains, had a wonderful meal in the middle of the jungle, slept in an authentic jungle house, rafted down a river for 2 hours and had a ride on elephants. It was amazing that we could do all of this in 2 days and still have the feeling of being very relaxed!!
We are a family with 3 kids of 17, 14 and 8 years of age and the trip was very appropriate for the whole family. It is more fun if you are in good physical shape - other participants had a hard time walking up- and downhill for 10 kilometres.
Be careful with the elephant ride: don't wear clothes that you don't want to get ruined and bring shampoo and a towel for a bath afterwards.

Hi, we are a family of 4 and looking to book your one day trip in December.
Our kids are 6 and 8 years old. Is there a lot of walking involved? I can see the one day trip has inner tubes and wondered if it's safe for our kids to sit in as they are quite small. I can't see any inner tubes in the photos, so perhaps it's a boat?

This trek looks very interesting. Though, I am a bit confused because the description and website says no elephant riding, but the tripadvisor pictures shows people riding the elephants? Could some please clarify. Thanks, Steve.
