Decent night market
Jan 2019 • Couples
Also known as student night market (on google maps), this venue offers typical selection of the local markets, which is a mix of clothes, jewelry, some electronic accessories and last, but not least, plenty of cheap food options. Doesn’t really stand above any of local markets, so I would not suggest some special arrangement to visit it.

Different to the other markets - young fashion.
Mar 2017 • Friends
So happy when I found this market! Also called the University Market, it has tons of young adult fashion (I'm 29!) and shoes and all so cheap! Not touristy and no soap or handmade goods. Lots of recycled/upcycled clothes. Perfection would be if I could fit into the tiny shorts, but one can't have it all!

Night market
Dec 2016
Street Vendors start setting up around 5:00 pm. There are blocks and blocks of vendors selling clothing, accessories, home goods, etc. you can bargain the price with them. The vendors also sell food. There is a fish spa there as well.

Cheap market for clothes and accessories for the younger crowd. Spotted university uniforms too. Hidden away behind maya shopping mall. It's much smaller and less to see. More for locals. Some food stalls with lower prices.

Good selection of quality copy goods.
Feb 2016
Make sure you bargain the price down at least 30-40% - tell them it's cheaper in Bangkok(!). The quality of the copy goods is better than I have seen elsewhere.

Not the most interesting night market we have been to
Jan 2016 • Family
This was not the most interesting night market we have been to, there seemed to be a lot of stalls selling the same product. The Night Bazaar is more interesting and a lot more fun.

Amazing deals
Aug 2015 • Friends
We saw the lady boy show (awesome - 200 baht gets you a free drink and a very entertaining show) and then did some shopping. Since we shopped after the show, it was very close to closing time. Shop owners think that the last customer of the day is very lucky so we got some amazing deals. Pants listed at 250 baht for 150 baht and 3 silk scarves (250 baht each) and pashmina (150 baht) for 600 baht. The best deal was by far the pearls! I got 2 pairs of pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and a jade bracelet from the same owner for 740 baht! The necklace alone was listed at 900 baht.

Can reach in a van(songthaew) from any where in Chiang Mai. Always crowded. Everwhere food joint and souvenir shop. Best local food can get here!Must try sweet sticky rice, Khao Soi Kai yellow noodle and pork sausage!Pork sausage full of different herbs, taste heavenly.Must must try!and if you are hungry then nothing better than Khao Soi Kai yellow noodle, yummy soup with full of local herbs and well cooked chicken leg piece.Next time when will be in Chiang Mai, again go to the night market and stuff my stomach with pork sausage.

Bought everyone souvenirs
Chiang Mai has better quality crafts than in Pattaya and Bangkok. I loved this place! Just a word of advice, don't buy too much because you'll be tempted to and then have to carry everything around the crowded market and pay obscene fees at the airport for over weight...lesson learned for me.
