Also known as student night market (on google maps), this venue offers typical selection of the local markets, which is a mix of clothes, jewelry, some electronic accessories and last, but not least, plenty of cheap food options. Doesn’t really stand above any of local markets, so I would not suggest some special arrangement to visit it.

Can reach in a van(songthaew) from any where in Chiang Mai. Always crowded. Everwhere food joint and souvenir shop. Best local food can get here!Must try sweet sticky rice, Khao Soi Kai yellow noodle and pork sausage!Pork sausage full of different herbs, taste heavenly.Must must try!and if you are hungry then nothing better than Khao Soi Kai yellow noodle, yummy soup with full of local herbs and well cooked chicken leg piece.Next time when will be in Chiang Mai, again go to the night market and stuff my stomach with pork sausage.

This market, right across from the main entrance to Chiang Mai University on Huay Kaew Road, was my go-to market for cheap clothing and fun people watching. This is NOT the tourist-oriented market of the Night Bazaar or the Sunday Walking Street. Instead, it's clothing, food, electronics, accessories, knock offs, tons of t-shirts and an assortment of other goods aimed mainly at younger Thai consumers. Love the offbeat and non-touristy clothing here and the food stalls are seemingly endless. There are also some small Sois and back alleyways around the market that also are packed with vendors. Fun for walking around and simply checking out how the younger set shops and entertains themselves during the evening. Really gets rocking after dark. Before then, it's much tamer and you can actually witness the vendors setting up for the onslaught of shoppers.

Cheap market for clothes and accessories for the younger crowd. Spotted university uniforms too. Hidden away behind maya shopping mall. It's much smaller and less to see. More for locals. Some food stalls with lower prices.

We saw the lady boy show (awesome - 200 baht gets you a free drink and a very entertaining show) and then did some shopping. Since we shopped after the show, it was very close to closing time. Shop owners think that the last customer of the day is very lucky so we got some amazing deals. Pants listed at 250 baht for 150 baht and 3 silk scarves (250 baht each) and pashmina (150 baht) for 600 baht. The best deal was by far the pearls! I got 2 pairs of pearl earrings, a pearl necklace, and a jade bracelet from the same owner for 740 baht! The necklace alone was listed at 900 baht.

This night market is situated right across Chiangmai University main entrance. It is open from 6pm to about 11pm. The stalls mainly sells items suitable for students, teenagers and young adults. Or simply a place to hangout for this age group. Transport is easily accessible.

A amazing place with so many stalls and alleys very easy to get lost in, great bargains and present shopping one of the best we've been to and cheaper than Bangkok so buy here because each market in a different area is so different and you will miss out on the present that you should have bought but didn't but don't forget to haggle! Then there is the food stalls, lots of wonderful different things to try and experience, so amazing!

The Night Market in Chang Mai is a "CAN'T MISS". Aisle upon aisle of everything you may be looking for and aisle upon aisle of goods you'll never buy but that will fascinate you as you browse. Looking for a "known" name in fashion? You will find it in the market. 99% it will be a knock-off You will be expected to barter. Be sure to start very low. Have fun!

Located across the street of Chiang Mai University, the place is filled with students. So expect student's priced in everything from dining and shopping here. Despite mainly targeting local student, do not worry about ordering food as most of the food stall visited provided menu.

Come nightfall, the place is filled with young people to the brim. Most of the store operators are actually students themselves. The clothes are trendy and mostly, of course, for young women (yours truly included). Got lots of good bargain for the clothes here.

The highlight of the place is a traffic police entertaining crowd with his guitar to Bruno Mars hit songs.

Will definitely visit again if I ever in Chiang Mai.

So happy when I found this market! Also called the University Market, it has tons of young adult fashion (I'm 29!) and shoes and all so cheap! Not touristy and no soap or handmade goods. Lots of recycled/upcycled clothes. Perfection would be if I could fit into the tiny shorts, but one can't have it all!
