We rented an apartment just behind this centre and visited heaps of times for groceries, dining and other items we needed like money exchange. The upper floors are a bit quiet and not well supported by shoppers but that wasn't the case on the first floor. You'd just about find everything you need here.

If you turn the wrong corners it can get a bit creepy. It is huge and many areas have barely any shops. But when you know your way around you find everything you ever could need. From normal shopping to specific sport stores it is all there. The foot corner on the bottom is amazing btw. It is super cheap... More

This place is beginning to show its age and many units lay empty now. A lot of shops and restaurants have moved out or closed down. The traffic on Huay Kaew Rod is also a nightmare, making this place troublesome to get to. This is the ONLY mall in CM that charges for parking, which is quite ironic as it... More

I believe this was the first shopping mall built in Chiang Mai. We think it is still a great place to shop. We know it is beginning to look its age, but it has loads of small independent shops, where you can buy things like clothes and souveniers and good banks for exchanging currency. There is great street food outside... More

Great bank, open every day, can buy fresh USD to save money on visas to Laos and Myanmar.....nice DQ, and good beer prices at Tops....post office and police station to the back, and a cut through to the Nimman area. Street market out front is good. Yes, Maya is way fancier, but this one is more practical.

A great place to sample Thai food. Inexpensive and delicious. You will not go wrong. We walked from our hotel and wanted to go back for more!

I've heard that Kad Suan Kaew was the first shopping mall in Chiang Mai, so the newer malls look, well, newer, and are larger, with better inventories. Still, the lower level has a fairly busy TOPS grocery store that stocks with many of the goodies (e.g., wine, chocolate bars, cookies, etc.) that expats desire. The mall doesn't open until 10... This well-known shopping centre would have been great back in the 80's. The styling is super old-school and there are lots of quirky and random stores here. Worth having a wander through if you're in the area, if only to sample some cheap eats from the food court or play the early 1990s video games. There is a supermarket in... More
