I got the shop recommended by a local from bangkok, he came especially to chiang mai to buy suits. I got a very friendly welcome and promised to come back to buy two shirts. Tony took my measurements and the day after! I could already come back to fit the shirt. The 2nd day everything was ready. The shirts fit perfectly and the service was great.
I highly recommend this shop! Don't go to the tailors closer to the night market but visit Tony in his shop!

Supreme collection are amazing tailors! I walked in there without reading any reviews, and At first I was little skeptical but once they show me the quality of fabrics available and vast different designs so I decided to order one suit. Well, they made me the perfect suit, it's the best suit I own.I just love the quality and attention to details.
My only regret is that I just ordered one suit, and they couldn't make me another one before leaving Chiang Mai. Well, they have my measurements so now I can order another one via email.
Thank you Supreme Collection, it was my best purchase in Thailand.

Very expensive, and the suits arent worth the money. They claim to make the suit just like the photos. The cuts were off and made me have an old man look. When I wasnt happy with one of the cuts, the man said after it is dry cleaned it would be more fitted and the button holes would loosen up more (Never heard that in mi life). We were recommended this place by a security guard at a temple that we didnt ask the taxi to take us, but he said it was the oldest temple. Looking back it was a chain of scams going on. The security guard also told us to go to the silk and silver factories which were more expensive than New york prices.
Beware of thai ppl recommending you places in temples and on the streets, there is often some agenda.

Dear Hanojoe, I am very sorry to learn of your disappointment, it is always our goal to please our customers and to tailor to your needs and requirements, from your selection of the fabrics and materials to the final cut. We are also very happy to make as many adjustments or amendments as are required to achieve the tailored fit you require. I am sorry you feel you were mislead and missold and would hope that if you return to Chiang Mai you will pay us a visit so we can make things right for you. Best regards from all at Supreme Collection.

So, cutting to the end result: my husband and I had 2 suits, a men's shirt, and two silk women's shirts made in February 2014 for 2200 thb. Everything fits and is well-made, and my husband says they are good suits for the money we paid. At the first fitting when I got my shirts back and the seamstress had put darts in the shirt (not like the picture I chose) and when I asked if they had different buttons, they had an entirely new shirt made for me on the next fitting. I like the shirt and recently received a compliment on the color.

So why am I questioning the experience? Here is my in the moment conversation online: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g293917-i9325-k7181018-Help_I_think_we_got_scammed-Chiang_Mai.html

Doesn't sound like a good thing to be worrying about on your vacation, does it? Here is the background on how we found ourselves at Supreme, which is not necessarily a review of the tailor because there is no way to verify a connection.

We were were walking out of Wat Saen Fang when a guy "from Bangkok visiting with his family" started chatting us up. We talked about the current protests in BK, and he made some suggestions for temples for us to visit. I think he mentioned some suits he had made, and recommended we go there to take advantage of some government promotion, as the shop was somehow affiliated with the government. The sale was on the occasion of the flower festival. As we had been looking at our Nancy Chandler map, he wrote "Supreme" on the map before I could stop him. We parted and made our way down the street, and met "a language teacher" who was also very chatty. He also had temple suggestions and then noticed "Supreme" on the map, and said they were an excellent tailor. I had some mental alarms going off, but we ended up getting in a tuk tuk hailed by the guy to the tailor. At some point I talked to my husband about whether we were caught up in something bad, but he thought it was unlikely (these guys were soooo smooth and nice). I remember thinking, do Thai people reach out and talk to people like this on the street?

When we arrived at Supreme, Mr. Tom was very nice and an incredible salesman. He even offered that some tailors use people on the street as commissioners, but he was opposed to the tactics. Midway through our visit I asked for their wifi password and searched frantically on TA for reviews -- at the time, there were only 2 that I showed to my husband, but he was comfortable and did not slow down. My husband ended up paying in full (in hindsight, should have asked about a deposit) for the items listed above. At first we were going to have them shipped home. On the way back we started talking about what happened, and when we got home I found a woman describe the EXACT SAME 2-guy scenario which she declined. This really convinced me that in fact, Mr. Tom was using commissioners. I called him that night and we finally agreed that we would leave CM with the suits instead of shipping, as we figured we'd at least know what we paid for.

We visited the shop two days later, and the first suit was mostly made -- it did look great. That is when I commented on the darts and buttons on my shirt. At the next fitting, he called the seamstress to the store to take note of a couple needed adjustments, and we picked up that evening. Husband's 2 suits and second fitting was perfect.

Although all ended well, I still feel like we was taken advantage of. I even told Mr. Tom about the men and what I had read online, but he denied and acted clueless. He repeated what he said at the first meeting about not using commissioners. For me, I'd rather have heard him say, yes, I do use these men to help me bring business to my shop. As many said in the thread I posted above, it can't entirely be considered a scam because we got good quality tailored clothes for less than what we would have paid at home, but many agreed that we overpaid for what is available in CM. My husband would have skipped all this backstory in his review, but it is impossible for me to separate it from the stressful experience, whether or not Supreme participates in the practice.

Be weary when walking through the temples at Chiang mai. You. May get approached by someone who is extremely friendly and speaks good English. You will be amazed at how helpful this fellow may seem. Showing you what temples to see , as well as other attractions to visit. Somehow in the conversation, mention of a suit comes up. He speaks highly of supreme tailor and draws it on your map and even organises an extremely cheap tuk tuk ride for you. You start thinking how lovely and genuine the people of Chiang Mai are. Anyways, I then visited the shop and spoke with Tom. All seemed great, although the price was a little high. After reading some not so great reviews on the web about this mob and having a very similar story that I described above with the man in the temples, I felt too concerned and taken advantage of and decided I would cancel the order of the suit. I called just after one hour to do this and was advised they would reduce the price by roughly 15%. I said I wanted a refund in full and they said I would have to pay a fee for the fabric as it was already being cut - how convenient. This was about 1/3 of the full price. I declined and am now going through a dispute process with my bank. What a lovely way to treat a person visiting the area. Be weary!

It began with a scam from a kind old man on the street. Yup, you heard it before – I heard it before- but we still fell for it…

My boyfriend and I were en route to a street market when we were approached by a man who told us about an outstanding custom tailor suit shop just a few streets away. His wife, a local nurse, just had some clothing made there and received a discount for the “Buddha Festival”. Seemingly a trustworthy, local gentleman; he paid for us to take a tuk-tuk, told the driver where to take us, and a few minutes later arrived at Supreme Collection.
We walked into the storefront suit shop (not dingy or shady) and were warmly greeted by Joe who sincerely treated us like old friends. He sat us down and showed us books and designs; was so patient describing the materials and various designs and thoroughly answered all questions. My boyfriend elected for a gray with black piping wool/cashmere/silk blend suit and I opted for a periwinkle sleeveless dress. Joe took careful measurements, recorded them, calculated the shipping to America, we paid cash, got a receipt, and were a few weeks away from being proud owners of custom-made clothing! I even commented to my boyfriend over dinner how excited I was that we scored such a great deal with such nice people.

In hindsight, it wasn’t such a great deal and they were undoubtedly scam artists.

Before we left Thailand (but had already left Chiang Mai) I received an email from Joe explaining that the gray suit material wouldn’t look right with the black piping. After weighing the pros and cons we elected to go with Joe’s professional recommendation of omitting the piping altogether. The clothing arrived approximately 8 weeks later to our home address in America. Success, I thought! But my elation quickly changed to disappointment when my bf and I tried on our “custom-made” clothing. The dress had a massive gap in the torso area and so extraordinarily tight and short; I could not sit or walk without the material creeping up my thighs. The suit pants were literally skin tight. If you want a good laugh; I have included pictures of the ill-fitting products.
I emailed Joe and expressed my frustration with the final products and included the aforementioned pictures. It took him weeks to reply. After I emailed him 4 times he finally responded and agreed that the pants and dress were not made correctly. He told me that he would make the clothes “right” and wanted us to be “happy.” I re-packaged the clothes, schlepped to the post office, dropped $60 on International postage and sent the pants, dress and a note that said we needed the clothes back by mid-May for a wedding. (I sent the clothes at the beginning of February they arrived in Thailand in March.)

I emailed Joe alerting him that the clothes were coming back to Thailand.

Silence. Never heard from Joe. Ever. Again.

The Chiang Mai Post Office tried several times to deliver the package to Supreme Collection and contact Joe. The package was never claimed and sat at the post office for weeks. Then began my 3 month saga of trying to get the package sent back to me in America. Finally, the package arrived. The clothes were never repaired in time for the wedding, I was scammed out of hundreds of dollars, and we are the angry owners of too-tight-for-hipsters- suit pants and a trampy, maternity-like dress.

Chiang Mai was one of the most beautiful places we visited in Thailand. Unfortunately, the memory of such a wonderful place will be blemished with the experience we encountered with Supreme Collection.

Be wary of kind people in Chiang Mai offering you advise and organising cheap transport and directing you to go to this shop. It is a very organised network of scammers who are working with each other and having different people come up to you at different locations. You may get a finished product if you do go here.. however the tactics to get you there are very deceitful and you will be paying wayyyyy more than you should for the product. We were unfortunate and didn't realise until after we had paid.. in which we called as soon as we got back to the hotel and they refused to refund our money. Our story briefly - Spoke with a stranger at a traffic crossing (probably the nicest person we had spoken to in Thailand). They discussed with us their travels in our country, then offered us advise on cost of tuk tuk's, places to go - Supreme Collection as it made all the suits for police/government etc / temples. They arranged a tuk tuk for us to go to a temple, and then for the tuk tuk to wait for us and take us to our next destination. Another lady was at the temple and came up to us (after praying) and also discussed places of interest. On our map she saw Supreme Collection and mentioned how good they are and that we should really go there.. also writing on our map a road where they make rugs and umbrellas etc.. she then asked if we need a tuk tuk arranged. It wasn't until we paid that we looked at reviews as we were not suspicious because everyone was so lovely. Seeing the reviews, everyone else seems to have the same story. Con artists. Don't trust the positive reviews on this company as I believe it is people in the network posting them.

Preparing our trip throug Thailand I was advised to have a suit tailormade. During our stay in Chiang Mai we were informed that we should try Supreme Collection. Knowing there are businesses where we could be served cheapier we decided to visit the shop. We were warmly welcomed by mister Tom who spent a lot of time in informing us about the fabrics and cuts. He made us an excellent offer for 2 suits. Problem : We were leaving Chiang Mai in 2 days. No problem for mister Tom as he planned two appointments for the fittings. Two days later we left Chiang Mai with 2 impecable suits in our suitcase, thans to the craftsmanship of mister Tom at Supreme Collection.

I found Supreme Collection because the locals recommended it as a great place to buy a custom suit at a reasonable price.

My sales associate, Jay, was very nice. He helped me choose a style that would look good, and took my measurements.

I went back a couple times during my stay in Chiang Mai to see how the suit was coming along, and also to make sure it fit just right. Every time I went there the staff were very friendly.

They can mail the suit to your home address, which is great if you are on vacation and don't want to travel around with a suit.

Overall it was a great experience!
