It's easy to miss the entrance to this shop as it's only a small frontage. The store though is quite a decent size and as the photos suggest is stocked with plenty of items for expats or overseas visitors. The specific items I wanted to buy were some cheeses but the prices at Kasem were scary high, more than triple what I was paying elsewhere in Thailand. The coffee though I thought was very good value as were the fresh breads, etc. The sales staff are terrific and it is a good place to find those items you might miss from home, but some of the prices are pretty stepp.…

And so bought some coffee, and of course cinnamon buns. We bought three packs and froze two of them so whenever we felt like a treat we had one on hand. This shop is fabulous for all sorts of Western products but the home made cakes, pastries, quiches and pies are worth a visit even when you don't need anything else…

I've been using Kasem Store for about thirteen years now, and like many expats, have found it a haven for food stuffs from Europe and USA. In the early years it was essential - as what supermarkets there were just didn't have the essentials - but now they often do. However, Kasem Store is such a friendly place and convenient for me, being near China Town and Worarot Market, that I still shop there frequently. Their bakery products are very popular. Highly recommended if you're searching for something - and worth visiting as a part of Chiang Mai's history.…
