We had a wonderful, peaceful and calm day with a lot of learning. Also the meditation lessons were inspiring. We can fully recommend the 1 day course, but if you have more time use it :-)

Both of us had no prior experience with Buddhism or meditation before taking the 1 day meditation workshop/retreat and it was really perfect for us. A smooth day combined learning with practicing, with Phra KK as the teacher who balances all perfectly. The meditation exercises...More

I wasn't sure what to expect, but this turned out to be a really worthwhile and enjoyable experience in a beautiful temple. The senior monk Phrae KK was both a gifted and entertaining teacher. I would highly recommend this. A fascinating introduction to Buddhism and...More

Fantastic experience, Phra KK was a brilliant teacher and orator and has a sense of humour to match. The day is well planned and balanced with an introduction to Buddhism, methods of meditation, and Q&A's. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who has an interest...More

My friend and I did a short Buddhism and meditation class with Pra KK. I think they run this session every Monday and Thursday morning - it lasts for around 2-3 hours and the price is by donation. The class was short but provided a...More

Monkchat Meditation Retreat (5 Replies)
I was looking for a one day introduction to Buddism and Meditation when traveling in Chiang Mai. I found the above named place thru TA. Via the reviews, I believe the 9-5pm day is available on Fridays, and trying to plan accordingly. (Our trip is in September.) Question is related to the website link, which leads to further ads. Is there a way to book in advance, or another place that can be recommended? TIA!

We did that one and it was fabulous.there will be plenty of room..They like you to wear white, but you would never know. You can buy a t-shirt there, Says meditation retreat, but others just wore what they had. It was wonderful, just like the reviews.
