My husband and I went to this half day class and we were both thoroughly pleased. You start the day with a trip to the local market to see all the fresh fruits and veggies, local meats, and spices. Very informative and fun. We then prepared four separate dishes with the excellent guidance and instruction on Mr Danny! I am not a very adventurous eater so I was a little nervous but everything was so delicious. My class was only 6 people so the instructors were very hands on and helpful. Three women in my class had been to a few other local cooking classes and said this one was by far the best - and though I have nothing to compare - I absolutely loved it, and I am a baker not a cook! The best part of this school is that they change their recipes daily unlike most schools- so you could do several classes and get completely different dishes. They give you recipes and a graduate certificate for you to take home. You will go home FULL and very pleased with your experience here. Now I can't wait to replicate my dishes at home- I just have to find green papaya!

We went to Pantawan cooking yesterday for a cooking class, arranged by the concierge at our hotel and we had an amazing time. They are friendly people who cooked super delicious thai food and we learnt from them.
The market trip was one of the highlight, it was cool to see all kind of local food, fruits, ingredients and got to try them.
The class went on smoothly, very well orgabized.
We got to cook by oursleves at our own station. I never knew cooking will be this fun. Thanks Pan and Danny. You guys did an amazing job!

The program starts with a visit at the market and they show you local products, vegetables and their traditional food, Then you go to their beautiful school to cook 4 dishes (starter, stir fried, soup, curry)
Pann and Tawan are “the” amazing people. They are very funny and always checked on you, making sure you have fun and enjoy cooking. Pann first show you how to prepare the dish, then you go to your own cooking station and cook what you just learnt (and continue doing this pattern for 4 dishes) which we thought it was great idea, because you still remember it by heart (the recipe will be given at the end)

It was just a lovely half day (you can choose lunch or dinner session). We really had a great time with you guys. Thanks.

There are tons of cooking schools so we chose this one based on a recommend from our hotel and we weren’t disappointed. Prompt pick-up at the hotel and started with a tour of a local market (veg, meat and fish). The school is set in a lovely location, old teak house in excellent gardens with superb facilities for up to 12 ‘students’. Our teacher, Yam, was very friendly and knowledgable with very good English. She demonstrated the dishes and then we cooked them while she supervised and taught us lots of really useful tricks of the trade. There’s a different menu each day so you can choose which you prefer as you get to eat it for your lunch. A great experience for foodies!

Our travel agent arranged a private class for the two of us, which I would highly recommend if you are a serious cook. First we had a visit to the local market, which happens to be where the very famous Chiang Mai Sausage is sold (we had a taste and it was amazing).
Our instructor, Yam, was quite fluent in English and took the time to clearly explain what she was doing and why. We made four dishes: Abb pla or grilled fish in banana leaves, Nam Pring Ong or Northern style dip with minced pork and cherry tomatoes, Lab Muang Kia or Northern style spicy chicken salad, and our hands-down favorite, Kao Soi Gai or Chiang Mai Curry Noodle with chicken. She would demonstrate a dish, then we would replicate it, then on to the next one. The photos are of the ones we made ourselves (so proud!)

A group of us took a class with Pantawan Cooking and had a great time doing it! It was really convenient -- they picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. Before the class we were taken to a local market to see where the ingredients come from and to learn a little bit about the foods native to the region. The class was fun and made these seemingly complex dishes simple! I highly recommend Pantawan to anyone looking to take a cooking class while they are visiting Chiang Mai

Just home from a great days fun at Pantawan Cooking. Very professionally run- you really feel you are in the hands of an expert. First we took a tour of the market where we learned about the ingredients we would be cooking with during the day. Chris, who speaks fluent English, expertly explained each ingredient. Next up was a short drive to the school. On arrival we were provided with tea and a hand towel. After each demonstration we cooked our dishes under the guidance of the chefs. We received the recipes and a certificate at the end of the course. Really well organized, I would definitely recommend it.

Our experience was as expected... The people were polite, fun and accommodating. Learned a lot about Thai cooking in general. The menu lesson is beginner friendly and the instructor was easy to understand.

We had an absolute blast at Pantawan Cooking!

The school is in really beautiful surroundings, with beautiful garden. Even on a hot day which was our case, the breeze blew through the house.

The whole day was amazing from the beginning to the end. After the pick up at the hotel, we headed off with others in the group to the local market where Tawan was waiting for us and took us on a tour and shown local products, We really enjoyed it.

Staff were hands-on, helping us all the time while cooking, also answered questions. I also really appreciated that they were asking us before the class about my food allergy (shellfish) and that I don't eat red meat, so they got me something else instead (seafood and tofu)

We loved the chef demonstration, he will do the first dish and then we went to our cooking station to cook it, back for the next demonstration then go cook it again, like this for four dishes.

The recipes will be given to you at the end of class, and we were all awarded with certificates saying we have accomplished Thai food.

We were lucky to be in a small group, total 6 people and we all had lots of laughs and such an incredible time and . A really, really great day that I can strongly recommend to anyone - you'll absolutely love it!

We had a lovely time at Pantawan Cooking school. The school is about 10-15mins outside old city, felt like miles away from the busy city life. though. The place is so beautiful, lovely garden and very peaceful. They have duck and geese as pet walking around the garden, very nice. I could have spend a few days out there.

Danny our teacher was so sweet. He did a great job explaining about Thai cooking culture and made us laugh all the time. He also made me realize that cooking Thai cuisine is not that hard as I thought it would be.

Definitely the best cooking school I've ever been to.
