We have just returned form Chiang Mai and used Wandering Star because of their reviews. Our guide was Amy and both Amy and WS were excellent. We asked if we could have an amalgamation of their set tours - they were totally flexible and we were able to put together two days of tours to suit our interests. Amy adjusted our tour as we went to arrive at each venue at the optimum time and we never felt as if the clock was ticking and she was more than happy to add extra things as we went along. i.e. it happened that we arrived on the only weekend of the year when the flower festival was on so we saw all the magnificent floats and visited the gardens in the old City. We went to see the Karen LongNeck Hilltribes. I was very sceptival about this imaginging that it could be contrived and a bit "disneyesque" but it was absolutely not , very authentic and the settlement that Amy took us to was very low key and totally fascinating. Probably one of the best tours we have been on. I can highly recomeend Dao (the owner) of the company, she is very helpful and professional and you get a personal service with top quality guides, drivers, s and cars. I would not hesitate to recommend them. All tickets were purchased in advance and we did not hve to worry about a thing

From the moment I stepped in to the office of Kae and Dao, I was met with a welcoming, smiling, fun and solution-oriented approach. They both helped me immensely and I chose two hiking trips which they went out of their way to organise.
The trips, both led by the very competent guide, Pong, took us through stunning nature, waterfalls, at times a little challenging, but not too challenging and we saw animals and creatures and returned full of impressions and grattifude (and slight physical exhaustion) from having been outside for 10+ hours.
I can thorougly reccommend Wandering Star Tour!

Dao has been absolutely brilliant! She helped us arrange all of the trips and visits that we wanted to take during our time in Chiang Mai! When I made contact with Dao nothing was too much trouble, she listened to what we would like and arranged the perfect trips for us. I travelled with my son who is 17 so the trips have been perfect! This evenings trip to the temple was fantastic. Amy was so informative and took lots of time to explain and answer our questions. The evening you was perfect as it was not so busy. We heard the Monks chant and Amy explained very well about the history and religion. Mr Mid was a very courteous and careful driver. Would highly recommend getting in touch with Dao before your trip to Chiang Mai.

I felt safe with Wondering Star Tour's driver, Mr. Bee, during my solo trip to Chiang Mai. Despite limited English, he understood my itinerary and even took photos for me. The agent, Miss Dao, was also helpful in communicating and recommending temples. Highly recommend for solo travelers.

Wow - what a great company. I booked all of my tours in Chiang Mai at this agency. I booked The Jungle Elephant sanctuary, Siam rice cooking class and a mini van to Pai. The service is fantastic and Dao cannot do enough to help you. She even gave me tips on good restaurants in the area. She's so kind, happy and will answer all of your questions.
Dao will also provide you with her contact number incase your pick up doesn't turn up or if you have any problems.
Fantastic company, don't book your tours anywhere else.

The ladies were so informative and friendly, we just had to return to book our second ethical elephant experience with them! I picked the tour to the Doi Inthanon National Park and the tour to the Elephants Sanctuary. I felt very comfortable, right from the first second when entered the agency. The lady there is very friendly. The tours were very well organized and the price was fair! Thank you very much for these great days!!

Booked with Wandering Star Tours to do the so-called Golden Triangle day tour from Chiang Mai. I do not recommend this to anyone, whether it is with that company or any other. Just rent a car and go to Chiang Rai (the second stop on the tour) to see the white temple, which is beautiful. The first stop on this tour was touted as a "Hot spring" - which amounted to a hole in a parking lot surrounded by shopping stalls. From the hole came the hot spring. They made it sound like it was in a park or a garden or something, ha. Snookered on that one. The long ride from Chiang Rai to the "Golden Triangle," where Burma, Laos and Thailand all meet at a bend in the river is just that: a bend in the river. Of course, there are a hundred shopping stalls for those not inclined to investigate the bend in the river by boat for an hour. A few gold elephants and gold Buddhas, that's about it. A total waste of time and money. Nothing to see at the Golden Triangle. Highly overrated.

We ensure that we are very happy to offer good service for our value customers as best we can. I am happy to receive our value customer's feedback as it help us maintain standards, remain competitive and preserve our good reputation.
You walked in to our office and booked this tour. Please note that before we start to sell every program we always informed our customer about time and how long to drive. This join in tour called Chiang Rai and Golden Triangle is the cheapest option if you join in with group of 10-12 people in 1 mini bus included English speaking tour guide, Entrance fee and Lunch but time is limited because spend time to drive from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai round trip is 6-7 hours already.
Please note that some day join in tour is not operated by Wandering Star Tour but it is operated by our partner and i informed to every customer who decided to join in tour.
Thank you so much for your comments and share your idea to everyone do not recommend this to anyone whether it is with our company or any other. Because every company do the same tour for join in tour. And you suggest other customer Just rent a car and go to Chiang Rai to see the white temple, which is beautiful. We accept this and before they book join in tour we always offered every customer to book a private car with a driver or do a private tour but price is higher than join in tour so it is depend on thier option and budget again. Wish you understand us.
However I hope that you may wish to return to Chiang Mai to try other tours and activities again.

We booked the Package 2 days 1 night Chiang Mai to Luang Prabang by Speed Boat (Visit Wat Rongkhun (White Temple), Stay Overnight at Chiang Khong). Our taxi driver was an hour late to pick us up and we had to wait at a 7/11 for over an hour. Had to make some calls to the office to check we were still on the tour.I think this was due to previous people being picked at messing about though! We arrived in Chiang Khong and were very impressed by the accommodation, a very nice swimming pool and basic teak rooms with fan .(Better than other rooms in this town). The next morning we were picked up on time and taken to Thai Laos border to immigration and fast boat. All good. *Make sure you have accommodation sorted for LP! the taxis will drop you off at their prefered hotel other wise .

I was in the wandering star a few times to book day trips arround Chiang Mai. The owner is very friendly and has a lot of experience in here business. I always will go back to the Wandering Star too book the next trips. A friend of me told me that you can book domestic and international flights for very good fares. Thanks for your good take care.
