3-Day Chiang Dao Mountain Trek

14 reviews
In the highlands north of Chiang Mai, the Chiang Dao mountains are known for their stunning natural scenery and traditional hill tribe villages. This challenging 3-day trek will take you far from the tourist trail—hike along scenic mountain ridges, bamboo forests, and jungle trails; explore the villages of the Maetang River valley; and enjoy homestay accommodation and tasty Thai meals along the way.

This unusual bar is located up some stairs above a market. In the 2 hours+ that I was there it offered free music from three different bands. The ambiance is good, there is a mix of all ages, and drink prices were very reasonable. Definitely worth a visit.

Located upstairs at the Kalare Food market this venue is worth checking out. It opens at 8.00pm and a band starts playing shortly after. There is no fee to go in. The Boys Blues band played for the first hour and they were excellent. Good tunes and very entertaining. Different bands come on throughout the evening. The venue is small and can fill up quickly so arrive early.

We stopped by to enjoy a beer with some live music and ended up staying all night! The quality of the bands that played were unbelievable!!! Cool setting too, overlooking the market. A nice change from the usual smokey basement that blues bars are usually found in.
