We booked a half day evening cooking class super spontaneously and the trip really exceeded our expections! The program was really cool including a stop at a local market, a tour around the organic farm and the cooking of 4 Thai dishes everyone could choose! Moreover our guide Garnet was the most likeable and funny person. She told us so many things about Thai culture and food and made us feel really welcome. Absolute must do while in Chiang Mai!!

Lovely experience to cook some delicious Thai dishes together with our family (including a 4 and 7 year old).
They could really participate and were very proud of their own prepared Thai food. Since they made it themselves, they also liked eating the different curries (we left out the chilies as much as possible) , the pad Thai , the spring rolls and of course the sticky rice with mango.

We booked a private cooking class with our family, because we also have a 1 year old who can be quite energetic.
This turned out to be a great plan, because we could take our time and did not feel like we were ‘harassing’ other people. He enjoyed the food as well and ate several homegrown bananas.

Wass was a very patient and kind teacher and we had a lot of fun, first at the local market and later on the farm. I loved the green surroundings of the farm. This made the already superbe cooking class even better.

This experience was incredible and we had an amazing experience!! I took the half day class with Wass, making 4 dishes each. We loved that this was a smaller group of people. We cooked and ate together, and had a great time getting to know each other and hearing about everyone’s travels. The food was delicious (some of the best from our trip!) and we came away with a lot of great recipes, which have impressed many people already! Wass was a great guide and chef – she was funny and entertaining, gave clear instructions and was very helpful to those who needed it. The only thing I would have changed would be that they gave out the cookbooks at the start of class so we could take notes in them (the recipes we made and the recipes in the book are slightly different). Alternatively, I would recommend people taking this class bring something to take notes in. We also took a lot of pictures throughout the cooking process, which helped us remember the changes and processes of making the dishes. Overall, this was one of our absolute favorite experiences during our two-week trip to Thailand. This is the number one thing I would recommend people do during their visit. This was our timeline:
o Once we arrived, we put on some farm hats and aprons and took a tour of the garden. We learned about and got to try many different fruits, vegetables and spices. Wass also went into detail about potentially more commonly found substitutes, which I have already used making these dishes at home.
o After the tour, we sat down to make our curry pastes. Wass went into detail on ingredients used and differences between each different type of curry paste, which was great since we could only make one.
o Afterwards, we made the soup course, which we then ate. (I made Tom Kaa and let me tell you, it was amazing. One of my absolute favorite dishes from the whole trip.)
o After soup, we made and ate our curry and the pad thai/spring roll courses.
o Then, we split into two groups and made our desserts.

Thai Farm Cooking School offered us an inspiring view in the Thai kitchen.
We could visit a local food market to get some of our ingredients, afterwards we'd had some time to look around. Our guide and cooking instructor Wass could explain everything we wanted to know.
On their farm we got to know the property and collected some fresh ingredients.
The cooking class is for every skill level, in total we all prepared our own curry paste, one soup, spring rolls, two main dishes and one desert. Furthermore we got to know how to prepare a papaya salad and could taste it as well.
I would recommend skipping your breakfast to save enough appetite for the six dishes you will eat within the six hours at the farm. Otherwise you're allowed to take away your food; water and lemongrass tea is available all the time.
At the end you'll get a receipt book with all the explanations and even more then just the meals you prepared, so you can bring the Thai kitchen back to your home country ;)

Wow!

The day started with that we got picked up from our hotell and travelled by car to a local market.
Inside the market we got to learn how to pick ip the different spices we were going to use låter on in the cooking classes.

Then we travelled to this cute farm northeast of Chiang Mai, took about 20 minutes, and we learned about the different herbs and spices in their farm - all this through smell, taste and look.

Later on The class started led by Chef Wassana. Her method of teaching combined with her people skills, her cooking-skills and smart jokes makes her the best teacher.

Thank you thank you thank you!

Now I can cook Pad Thai, TomYum Shrimp and Butterfly Pea Mango Sticky Rice!

This was a fantastic place with great people in charge. We will never forget this experience and will try to do similar activity in every country we are going to visit.

We already knew that Thai cousine is wonderful, but we have never thought that cooking in a Thai way could be that easy and, especially, that funny. Time spent with Wass - our teacher - was filled with jokes and her knowledge of all the ingredients, herbs, plants and cooking techniques. She was brilliant and thanks to her we love Thailand even more now.

Big thanks to the whole Thai Farm team for that special day. We recommend the cooking class to everyone!

We did the evening cooking class after arriving in Chiang Mai that day. The whole experience was more then we expected and we made four delicious dishes including a dessert!
Fah was our guide for the day and she was amazing, brilliant English and very knowledgable about Thai cooking. We first went to the market to discuss the bases of Thai cooking, then went to the class set in a lovely quiet area.
We then cooked our dishes from scratch and was pleasantly surprised they actually tasted good!
Anyone in the chiang mai area I would highly recommend this cooking class.

Lovely day of going exploring the local, organic farm filled with traditional Thai ingredients and making delicious Thai foods. There was just a small group of 5 of us due to Covid season, making for a very intimate session! Wass was amazing at explaining all the Thai ingredients - even the different types of rice! We were able to tour the farm to see all the veg and herbs we will use to cook our dishes - we even got to pick our own peppers based on how spicy we like our dishes right then and there! The space is clean and tidy and your ingredients are helpfully organised and measured out for you, making for a very smooth cooking process - all thanks to Noi(?), the very smily and sweet kitchen helper! We got to try a delicious papaya salad made by Wass herself and we got a cookbook of the recipes we made to take home. Wass explained to us the different substitutes we could use in our home countries. A very fun and informative day! Hope to see more people get involved asap!

What an amazing day. Got picked up punctually from our hotel and were whisked off to a local market. Wass, our guide for the day gave us a brief but very informative tour of the market and we had some time to explore on our own. Then it was off to the farm. First, we went on a quick tour of the farm and saw the ingredients that we would later cook with growing in the area.

Then it was time to get down to cooking and eating. Making our own curry paste, Tom Yam soup, spring rolls and mango with sticky rice was fun, but more importantly delicious. I am afraid that I now consider myself to be something of an expert (cough cough) on Thai cookery and my family just may get sick of it in the months to come!

All in all, it was a great day. The group we were with were all very friendly, Wass was a superb teacher and the learning opportunity was so worth whatever we paid.

I had heard good things about Thai Farm Cooking School from my research online but I was pleasantly surprised when my already high expectations were exceeded. There is no doubt that much of that is attributed to our amazing instructor, Kim. Not only was she informative regarding Thai ingredients and cooking techniques, but she was hilarious and entertaining throughout the process. We started out walking through a local market as she explained many of the staple ingredients for Thai cuisine and then made our way to their farm for the cooking lesson. Here, everyone had stations set up with their own prep tables, burners, and kitchen tools. Everything was very well organized. We took a walk through the garden to get acquainted with the produce used in Thai cuisine and then finally started cooking. We made 5 different recipes which Kim made so easy to follow. Everything was super fresh, well-seasoned, and incredibly tasty. The day flew by without a dull moment. They give you a cookbook at the end of the lesson and I cannot wait to try the recipes at home. I would recommend this for anyone coming to Chiang Mai without hesitation!!!
