My partner and two of his friends were booked to go on the tour in May. Due to the Covid 19 Virus, this had to be cancelled. Not only were Big Bike Tours understanding but they refunded the money back to the bank accounts withing 24 hours of requesting. No problems no hassles no hidden fees.
Now if only Flight Centre were so professional, they told us to get in touch with Air Asia, even though we had booked through Flight Centre. Naturally Air Asia told us they cannot refund as we didn't book direct with them but we had to go through Flight Centre. Been battered about between Flight Centre and Air Asia for weeks. Would have liked to book through Flight Centre but their performance so far has been abysmal.

Good on you Big Bike Tours, the guys will book when it is safe to travel. Thank you.

This wasn't a tour, this was an adventure!
With the virus hot on our heels we had to cut short our time in Phnom Pehn and only just got back through the border with hours to spare.
There was no point in going back to Pattaya as that had now shut up shop and the Moto GP had been cancelled also.
It was decided to ride up to Chiang Mai and after a 680km ride into the setting sun we arrived and spent the rest of the adventure riding on some of the best roads in the world.
Even though so many things changed without warning Kay and Noah still managed to deliver a tour to remember.
All you need to do is sit on the bike and ride. Everything else is done for you.
If you want a tour with great accomodation, amazing food, a party atmosphere, brilliant roads and scenery with a group of like minded people then this is definately a tour for you.
This is the second time I have been with BBT. The first was a 10 Day Discover Thailand tour which I also highly recommend.
Looking forward to the third!

Our group was made up of 9 friends. Started at 3 and grew to 9. The 10 day ride from Chiang Mai saw amazing roads, mountains, eating establishments and hotels. No issues with all those. Our bikes were Honda CB500X, Kawasaki 650 Versys, BMW 800 GS, BMW 800F. Our bikes were well prepared and the few issues were sorted quickly. Plenty of water was available at all times and all fuel stops well organised.
The following feedback is to assist in improving what already is a well oiled organisation.
1. Our guide's English was not clear at times.
2. Our guide lead rider lost a few of us at times by not stopping and waiting at critical turning intersections. An instruction to the lead rider to have a tail end "Charlie" to wait at turn offs to ensure all riders follow the route would be beneficial.
3. Our Nan 2 day stop was upset by having to book a hotel out of the town as BBT failed to prebook early enough to ensure a booking of their chosen hotel in the town.
4. The back up vehicle should have a tyre repair kit on board. A screw was picked up on one bike and that tyre had to be sent off for repair.
5. Our guide missed the sleeping Budda, the opium museum and the bamboo bridge.
The holiday is a riding holiday for motorcyclists and as such we all enjoyed the overall experience and this will always be a trip we will recommend to all who wish to ride northern Thailand!

Thank you sincerely for your invaluable feedback. Your insights are greatly appreciated as they guide our efforts toward improvement. I plan to engage my team in a discussion to address the issues and understand the reasons behind the missed activities. I'd like to highlight that our tour guide, Koppi, was relatively new, having conducted only his second tour. In the future, we'll ensure better communication beforehand to offer him the opportunity to learn and grow, recognizing that everyone starts somewhere. He is dedicated to improving and will undoubtedly refine his skills with each tour. As a company continuously evolving in our industry, securing excellent tour guides is a challenge we're diligently working on. While this doesn't excuse any lapses, your understanding is immensely appreciated. Koppi is committed to continuous improvement, and we're confident that future tours will showcase his progress, minimizing any mishaps such as losing customers at intersections. Wishing you a joyful new year! We hope for the chance to regain your trust and welcome you on our other tours in the near future.

I went on the Thailand, Loas, China, Tibet trip this year, following a 12 day Thailand trip last year with Pong. The good bits were the scenery once you arrived in Tibet and the roads, the people of Laos were amazing and Mr Bing our Chinese's guide and fixer was incredibly professional and attentive.
Accommodation on the whole was good and food was ok.
The bad bits were the bikes, on our first stop from the hotel a Versys arrived with its entire brake assembly hanging off, that's just 15km from the hotel. Out of the 9 bikes supplied by BBT for our group 4 of them had issues from the start, even the guides bike broke down repeatedly. My bike had a slipping clutch on day one, other bikes had no 4th or 6th gears, no ABS, no front brake... these were bikes that we drove from the hotel.
On day two my bike experienced a catastrophic failure of its clutch and was not rideable, other bikes had radiator failures and again the reoccurring ABS. My replacement bike was being ridden out to me so as a result I had to drive the support truck through Laos with zero guidance or instruction as to where we were going, I drove for 1 1/2 hours before seeing our group pulled over having some food. My replacement bike was Kays BMW GS 800. This bike had no front suspension at all, I could push the forks from the top to the metal at the bottom while parked. (once I returned the bike at the end of the trip after fighting it around mountain passes for 17 days I was told by Kay that he had ridden the bike that morning and there was nothing wrong with it 'B******t)
We were delayed almost every day by breakdown and mechanical issues with the bikes. Also there was no spares or adequate tools to undertake anything but the smallest of repairs, apparently they were left behind by accident....
BBT need better bikes, the bikes we all rode were old with hard lives on tough terrain, there was no maintenance prior to our departure and when you consider we were riding 4500km over 4600m mountain passes for 17 days that is terrifying.
Also there was no mention of the fact that BBT do not insure riders out of Thailand until you sign the contract in the hotel, again terrifying.
I have been home now for 5 days and I did have the trip of a lifetime but a little less adventure and a bit more consistency would have been nice.
Big Bike Tours you know you need better bikes, charging an 'Upgrade' price for a GS 800 with 90km on it and damaged forks is not an Upgrade. I am not the first and I wont be the last, this kind of service ruins businesses, a bad word whispered travels a thousand miles.
I wish you luck in the future but I will not be booking again with you.

We observed that you recently submitted a negative review regarding our family business. We extend our sincere apologies for the inconvenience you encountered. As you might recall, we convened a comprehensive meeting with all participants the day following the tour in Chiang Mai, during which we meticulously addressed each concern you raised. It is perplexing to see this review after our exhaustive discussion. While we respect your perspective and value your feedback, it is worth noting that your demeanor and frequent complaints about minor issues created a challenging atmosphere for both our staff and other guests. Despite our divergent views on the experiences, we remain committed to enhancing our services and ensuring exemplary experiences for our patrons. Your comments are instrumental in that pursuit. First, we're pleased to know that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery in Tibet, the amazing people of Laos, and the professionalism and attentiveness of Big Bike Tours, especially your tour guide and co-owner Chao. We're also glad that the accommodation and food met your expectations. We deeply regret the mechanical issues you experienced with the bikes. Safety and reliability are paramount to us. However, the situation you described in your review was not as dramatic as it sounded. While I don't want to question anyone's account, it doesn't fully align with the reality. There were no brake failures on any motorcycles during the tour. Fact! Your motorbike had an ABS light that intermittently turned on and off, which the mechanic determined was due to a traction control sensor issue and a burning clutch, though the cause of the burning clutch remains unknown. Additionally, there was a gear problem on your friend's Kawasaki Versys on the first day of the tour. Nevertheless, we promptly replaced your motorcycle on the first day and efficiently handled all the necessary paperwork for border crossings and customs registrations, including all permits for Laos, China, and Tibet. It was agreed that you would drive the service truck in Laos for 80 kilometers from the Thailand border at Chiang Khong to the hotel in Luang Namtha for the first night, allowing the mechanic to ride your replacement bike to the hotel later this evening. Despite our efforts to swiftly and professionally address the situation, it seems that you remained dissatisfied with the replacement motorcycle. It's possible that this dissatisfaction stemmed from a combination of factors, including perhaps a negative outlook, and, potentially, nightly drinking habits. It seems that no motorcycle in the world would satisfy you. We reiterate that there were no issues with Kay’s private motorcycle. Not a single problem! After your tour concluded, we changed the tires and oil on this motorcycle. Seven days later, it was back on the road for a 30-day Indochina Tour, ridden by the president of a German BMW motorcycle club. Unsurprisingly, there were no issues with this bike. You can follow this tour and see your former motorcycle in action on our Facebook and Instagram channels. Anyhow, we are currently reviewing our bike maintenance protocols to ensure that all vehicles are thoroughly inspected and serviced before any tour. Your feedback has highlighted areas that need improvement, and we are committed to addressing these issues promptly. This includes ensuring that spare parts and adequate tools are always available and that all bikes are in top condition before they leave our garage. Regarding the lack of insurance information and the upgrade charges, we understand your frustration and are revising our communication to make sure all important details are clear and transparent before the booking is finalized. I understand the importance of maintaining a positive image for our business, especially given the impact of online reviews. Up until now, we have been fortunate to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback, with nearly 500 five-star reviews on TripAdvisor. Your review is the first of its kind, and I am eager to rectify any shortcomings you experienced to ensure our continued success. We are grateful that you still found aspects of the trip enjoyable. I encourage you to consider booking with another motorcycle tour company in the future, especially our new Philippines Tour, which you were interested in, as they may offer experiences that better suit your preferences while ensuring everyone's enjoyment. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are committed to continuously enhancing our offerings to provide exceptional experiences for all our travelers. Thank you once again for sharing your thoughts.

I just finished a 5 day 4 night tour of Northern Thailand.
My bike was a Versays 650..plenty of grunt and very comfortable. It had been 20 something years since I had been on a big bike and it took a day to feel comfortable riding a big bike again.
The tour leaders Kay and Noah understood this and the more experienced quicker guys went out front and those of us that went at a more sedate pace always had someone following us up. With stops usually after an hours riding the pace ended up being comfortable for me.
They have a saying RIDE AT YOUR OWN PACE. So providing you are reasonably competent on a large manual bike the tour should pose no problems.
The bikes were well maintained we had no breakdowns accidents drops or issues over the 5 days and 1358 kilometres. Trip was well organised and we had a lot of fun at night with a few drinks and great meals.
The trip was a bit more of an adventure than I was expecting and I felt personally challenged to extend my riding abilities and getting a little outside my comfort zone on nice sweeping bends or twisting corners was good thing and added to the whole experience.
If you're considering a trip look at it as a complete experience..seeing different places eating varied meals meeting like minded guys and riding a big bike on what had to be for me the best riding roads I have ever been on.

This trip exceeded all expectations. The BBT staff are top notch, the bikes were in very good condition, the accommodation en route was as advertised, the roads thrilling without being dangerous.
We WILL be back again.
My only observation is that these tours are for experienced & competent riders, not for novices.

Big bike’s 10 day Northern Thailand tour was a fantastic trip. The ride took us on some great roads and the scenery was awesome . The two day’s accomodation at the Accor hotel before and after the ride was a great choice as this gave us time to get settled in and have a look around Chiang Mai.The hotel accomodation during the ride was excellent as each rider had their own room and they were of great quality. The lunch and dinners that were all inclusive were very nice, but you would want to be hungry as there was always way to much food that you just could not eat. The sites along the trip were well thought out, and gave you a chance to take a break from riding. Each day’s ride would certainly be enough for most riders as it was quite warm when we went. A couple of beers, or three, were a welcome site after each days ride..( but each to their own ). The guides were great value and interacted with the riders to make it a memorable adventure. I would recommend this trip to anybody who loves riding and was a total experience. DO IT… you won’t regret it.

Normally surrounded by bunches of surveys after a service like the one you are providing, I’m happy not to have received any automatic and unpersonal message as such.
However, and as surprising as you might think it is, it’s me who will give you this feedback about my experience after my 3 days Naan Loop Tour.

Being a pretty young driver (only 2 years so far), it was my first experience in spending part of my holidays on a bike riding tour.
Actually, it is mostly the reason why I only went on a 3 days tour, not being sure I would enjoy it.
Now let me tell you that it was one of my best personal experience so far.

Not only that this R1148 was, a promised, a fantastic discovery but how should I talk about the whole tour?
Our guide was so nice, so experienced, so skilled that he has clearly enhanced the feeling of safety and of course the tremendous pleasure to ride!
Global organization, perfect too: paper stuff, pre-meeting, payment facility and the possibility to choose the machine!
Even you, found me a beautiful hotel in Chiang Mai for my stay before and after the tour.

I shall stop now with compliments, not finding a way to criticize anything.
And probably you will ask me to recommend your company to some other passionate bikers, but actually… I already have 😉

Brilliant tour with 4 friends and the fantastic team at BBT. Looking through other reviews I would just be repeating what the majority say. Great staff, great guides, great routes, great sights, great food and great roads. The guides Whine and Cheow along with the support crews, really went over and beyond to ensure we had a brilliant tour. Nothing was too much trouble. Hotels were all clean with the majority being of a very good standard. If I had to criticise it would be to say check over the bikes prior to a tour. Two of our bikes had to be replaced mid tour due to worn tyres. Otherwise, a top trip, highly recommended and I would definitely use BBT again.

A total of 23 riders on this Cambodia Moto GP tour instead of the 8-10 riders as promised. Did not get the bike I signed up for, a Kawasaki Versus instead a Honda CBR 650. Not a versatile bike. Guide left many of us behind several times. If it wasn't for cell phones! we were lost. Some accommodations were quite good but others 2 or 3 star at the most. Mechanical difficulties with some of the bikes. They were generally all in need of some mechanical assistance. A tired fleet of motorcycles for the majority. At the Cambodia Thailand border had to wait for a long time as one of the employees had a conviction record and we had to wait for proper clearance! All said I feel poor value for the money was expecting so much more

Thank you for your feedback regarding the Cambodia Moto GP tour. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have encountered during your trip. Your insights are highly valued, and I genuinely appreciate your candidness. Firstly, I must express confusion regarding the timing of your review, which was posted six months after the tour. It's perplexing as to why such feedback would surface at this point. Could there be external motivations prompting this delayed critique? I want to emphasize that your comments seem starkly disconnected from the experiences of other participants and raise questions about the credibility of your perspective. Addressing the concerns you've raised: Group Size: You never had ridden in a group of 23 riders! First of all: we split the group into two completely different groups. You remember, that the first group for example started and crossed into Cambodia one day earlier. And if you cut out the 2 x Tour Guides and the 2 x Sweeper on their motorcycle, it was only 19 customers in total. As we split into two groups, you were all the tour riding with 9 other participants only. In exactly only 2 places we stayed all together, otherwise, even the two groups stayed overnight in different hotels. Motorcycle Type: You specifically selected the Honda CB650F, which was provided to meet your preferences. However, it's regrettable to note your reckless behavior on the road, including overtaking other riders in hazardous situations. Your dissatisfaction with road conditions after encountering a particularly rough stretch seems inconsistent with your overall contentment with the bike. Guide Experience: Our guides, including Reini, are committed to ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants. Reini's efforts were commendable, as evidenced by his diligent leadership and adept navigation through challenging conditions. Your impatience and disregard for the group's cohesion, as observed during instances of overtaking, detracted from the collective experience. Accommodations: While we strive to provide satisfactory accommodations. While some accommodations were satisfactory, I apologize if others fell short of expectations. However, if you scroll down and read the TripAdvisor reviews by other customers on the same tour as you, they were super happy with all the accommodations. For example: TomsJ6016SY wrote in his 5-star review (Thailand/ Cambodia Inc moto gp tour): “Hotels, meals and all sightseeing were arranged to perfection.” Mechanical Issues: We deeply regret any mechanical difficulties encountered during the tour and recognize the importance of regular maintenance. Participants need to approach such challenges with solidarity and understanding, rather than frustration or blame. Especially in your case, a tire puncture is part of the adventure and was fixed in less than 15 min. Border Clearance Delay: Your review alleges a crime and conviction record for one of our employees. However, this claim is inaccurate and unfairly tarnishes our company’s reputation. We firmly reject any statements that perpetuate discrimination against loyal and diligent individuals. The issue at the Cambodian border was related to a missing customs motorcycle certificate, and nothing more. It is essential to recognize that nobody is flawless, and we do not endorse this false statement that attempts to cast us in a criminal light. Let us focus on truth, fairness, and integrity as we address these matters. Our commitment remains unwavering: to uphold the dignity of our hardworking team members and maintain our company’s reputation with honesty and transparency. Value for Money: I apologize if you perceived the tour as lacking in value. Your feedback prompts us to reevaluate our offerings and make necessary improvements to enhance the overall experience for all participants. In conclusion, while I regret that your experience fell short of expectations, I encourage you to reflect on your approach to group travel in the future. Riding solo may afford you greater autonomy without impacting the enjoyment of others. Thank you once again for sharing your feedback, and please rest assured that we remain committed to delivering exceptional experiences to all our participants.
