We booked a half day tour with 3 young children (1yo, 4yo and 6yo). We loved the tour. Etienne and his team helped us to arrange the tour in the best conditions. Our guide Ohm was extremely professional and focused on our safety first of all. The equipments were perfect for all of us and in very good condition. Ohm took us to visit many places such as temples, rice fields... and always giving us explanations and informations about Thai culture. The itinerary was pleasant, we got out from the city quickly to enjoy the countryside of Chiang Mai which must be seen. We had lunch in a lovely restaurant with a farm and playing area for kids where they had so much fun. A great day and good memories! Thanks to Click and Travel team.
Highly recommended tour

We booked this at the last minute (day before) and they were happy to accommodate, even though we were the only two signed up. We chose the half-day bike ride to the east of Chiang Mai rather than the more popular one to the south, and we're glad we did.

Our guide, Ohm, was great. Very friendly and informative. It was very comfortable riding 20 miles with him.

The route was interesting, fun, and quite doable - good Trek bikes helped. The rice fields were close to ready for harvest, and quite picturesque. We passed through several small neighborhoods, which were as interesting to see as the countryside.

We stopped at a museum and Ohm walked us through the highlights - just the right amount, both for the history lesson and the rest stop.

The other stop was a wonderful roadside restaurant (included), and for an extra special touch, Ohm biked somewhere else while we ate and brought us back dessert!

This was a good choice for a way to see everyday life away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and the mountainous backdrop made for a pretty ride.

We did the bike tour of the south for half day and I think this was the best way to see the best sites in Chiang Mai. We went to three temples, rode out through the countryside, visited rice fields, and even went to some local towns and got to experience a couple of local delights. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and made the experience very fun. This was a really fun day and I would highly recommend.

A very professionally run tour, right from the beginning when I first made contact to do the booking. Responses were quick and my questions clearly answered.

There were 11 people in our group, including my children aged 10 & 12.

We did the Baan Tawai ride. We were picked up from the city at 8.30 and got back about 3.30.

THE GUIDES

Our 2 guides (Pui and Egg) were:
- friendly,
- knowledgeable about biking and the places of interest,
- confident in leading the group,
- fluent in English.

THE BIKES

The bicycles we were given were 24-speed trek bicycles. They were
- in excellent condition
- with sensitive and effective brakes
- stable and sturdy to ride.

Helmets and water were provided too.

The 10-year-old was given a good bicycle that was exactly the right size.

TRAFFIC AND SAFETY

The guides made an extra effort to keep my children safe, without impinging on the other guests' enjoyment.

We always felt safe even during the short and few times riding on main roads, with one guide leading and the other bringing up the rear.

Crossing through traffic was always fine with no rush. The guides waited for large gaps in traffic so the group could cross together at a safe pace.

THE TRIP

The ride was largely on small roads with little traffic, or - joy of joys - on tracks in shady greenery.

No big hills. Mainly level riding.

The most enjoyable part was going off-road through tree-shaded areas, breathing in the clean air. This was on dirt tracks - cycling here was easy on the sturdy bicycles which were provided.

Cycling through the paddy fields was beautiful. TIP: Wear sunscreen or a thin long sleeved shirt, as this area isn't shaded.

The stops were sufficient and varied, covering food and gorgeous temples and an ex-leprosy colony in a beautiful park, with shopping opportunities thrown in (but there was no coercion to buy).

The guides knew about nature, culture and religion. They don't push this information on you, but if you ask, they'll share a lot of interesting information.

Thank you, Click and Travel, for a wonderful day out. All of us enjoyed it from ages 10 to 43.

I did the most popular half day tour featured in the website (950 baht). The guide was friendly and gave brief explanations about local plants and temples. I was quite disappointed with the route as I was expecting more country side scenary (ie paddy fields etc) but 80% of the route is through rural villages (which is very similar to one another). I also find the route quite dangerous at times. We were cycling on some highways, crossing busy roads and some narrow roads with cars really close to us. We only had one guide which is leading the pack so I had to try my best to keep up as I do not want to lose sight of the team and can be quite dangerous when crossing roads. The online description of the fitness level required is apt (Average fitness) as the roads are mainly flat with minimal uphill. The bikes are great and it was nice that we had some free drinks and snacks at the end of the tour.

Did the full day bike tour in the south of Chiang Mai today. Really enjoyed the whole day. Learnt so much about the temples and how different religions are practiced in Thailand. Good food and great exercise. Our guide was brilliant, thank you very much for a great trip.

Our guide led us on a leisurely-paced yet interesting tour. We departed from the company offices in Chiang Mai, i.e. in the middle of a busy city, but within a minute or so, we had turned onto the many quiet & tree-lined lanes that wind through the residential neighborhoods, finally reaching the rural edges of town. We saw many interesting sites, including a temple, an old leprosarium, and a Buddhist crematorium, and also stopped at a couple of roadside food stands. It was a great trip! We probably biked about 30km but it was an easy pace, on flat roads with minimal traffic. Our guide was very helpful & professional. Overall our favorite side trip in Chiang Mai !

The owner Etienne is very organised, thorough and helpful. The Trek touring bikes (with lengthened stems for comfort) are very good bikes but just as important well maintained. The route descriptions were clear and the standard of accommodation excellent, each hotel with a pool to rest aching legs.I would recommend the 4 day self guided trip.Overall it represents exceptional value for money. I would also recommend doing a half day guided trip the day before to get acquainted with the bikes. Our guide Bird was very good indeed.

As an older couple who cycle regularly at home in Queensland we decided we wanted to see Thailand close up. Our guide Jib was surprised at our request and then he proceeded to show us through the farms and back lanes south of Chang Mai. Being from a country background Jib displayed his knowledge and explained many things to us from farming to Thai buddism. Lunch at Ban Tawai was a welcome break from the heat. We returned to Chang Mai by Wat Chedi Liam finally getting back to our apartment an hour later than had been planned. If you want to see the real Thai country side up close do it with Click and Travel and an experienced guide. We will do another trip when we return to Chang Mai
