3-Day Chiang Dao Mountain Trek

14 reviews
In the highlands north of Chiang Mai, the Chiang Dao mountains are known for their stunning natural scenery and traditional hill tribe villages. This challenging 3-day trek will take you far from the tourist trail—hike along scenic mountain ridges, bamboo forests, and jungle trails; explore the villages of the Maetang River valley; and enjoy homestay accommodation and tasty Thai meals along the way.

We hired Jack for a 3 day tour and we couldn’t have chosen a better guide for our visit to Chiang Mai. Communication was super easy with Jack. We simply told him the places we wanted to visit and he put in a great itinerary together along with some other places he suggested. Jack was on time every day to pick us up at the hotel. What we loved about Jack was his knowledge of the history and culture of Chiang Mai and did not feed us with a ton of information that some tour guided do. Jack was also very patient and allowed us to have the time to enjoy the sites without hurrying us. He also took some great pictures for me in the temples that women were not allowed to go in and gave me some great tips to help me with my photography. He also took us to some great and very affordable restaurants for lunch. Jack also took us to the airport and was again on time. Thanks Jack for giving us a glimpse of your culture and for an outstanding 3 day tour of Chiang Mai!

Truly feels like home. The three bedrooms, each with their own bathroom are spacious and comfy. Well functioning kitchen, living room and the crown: the patio... Situated in a peaceful neighborhood only few minutes away from the old city, still well away from the nightlife and party scenes. If you are looking for a quiet, safe homebase for your explorations with friends or family, Lannafocus is the perfect match for you. You'll be delighted by the friendly hospitality of your hosts, and you can trust Jack to take you to see the best sights of this beautiful city and country.

Jack did a nice job of getting us to and through Doi Inthanon and Doi Suthep. He had some good insight on the different locations as well as a couple of hidden gems. He offered a fair price. Van very clean and had plenty of room.

What a revelation it was meeting Jack. My first visit to Chiang Mai with Jack as my guide was an absolute delight. He is warm , engaging, informative, kind, helpful, absolutely professional in every way. His knowledge about history, culture, religion added to his thoughtful , kind actions makes him an unusually good guide. He is a special person with a depth of understanding & can communicate well, share ideas, he's interesting & interested in life and his love of the city and surroundings is catchy! We went to Doi Suthep, exploring the glistening golden temples at the top( go early 7.30 to 8.00 am gets busy) His descriptions were so helpful. Then down the mountain a bit to the forest- all I can say about this hidden area is - get Jack to take you. Still, meditative, tranquil temple place. Beautiful. Then off to local market to smell, taste smoky sticky rice, little hot rolled coconut pancakes. Then lunch at restaurant by a pond - delicious little satay , Tom Gai soup. Jack is a generous spirited person. We both took photos & he will email me later. I would not hesitate to recommend Jack to all readers. I found him on TripAdvisor and they were all right in their reviews. Absolute pleasure.

I have engaged Jack as my driver cum tour guide for my family trip to Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai. Such a wonderful trip with him. He is such a caring person, easy going, and lovely guys. He would patiently explain to you about the place history. Besides the tour, he would actually bring you to taste the famous local food. Most importantly he was punctual through out the trips. Also, he is good in taking photos. Overall, I would highly recommend him to be your driver/guide for anyone visiting ChiangMai/ChiangRai, not to forget also his price is very very reasonable with his kind of service. *ThumbsUP*.. :-) .. Thanks Jack for the great service you have rendered.
