About
My nick name is Bee, and my full name is Embee. I am the teacher at Bees Garden Thai Cooking School. I have been teaching people to cook Thai food now for 10 years, tutoring at other cooking schools here in Chiang mai.
My other passion besides cooking is organic gardening, working with nature to grow things without the use of any chemicals or artificial fertilisers.

My wife and I were delighted to have learned the secrets of Thai cuisine at Bee's garden! And lucky to have "discovered" a different cooking course: limited group, authentic rural environment, organic ingredients, competent and fun teacher, really delicious food ...
After an interesting tour to a typical market, Mrs. Bee gives us the secrets of "real" Thai cuisine starting from the direct knowledge of aromatic herbs, vegetables and fruits cultivated in her organic garden.
We cooked (and ate) Tom Yum soup with prawns, the famous "Pad Thai", chicken with Thai basil.
And then curry chosen from three colors (red, yellow, green).
And finally a typical dessert (banana in coconut milk).
A feast for the eyes (and for our belly).
A fantastic and unforgettable day!
Thank you for everything, Madam Bee!

Back for a few more days in Chiang Mai, coming from Vietnam, we wanted to repeat the experience, very positive, already had with Mrs. (En) Bee to learn so other recipes of Thai cuisine (in fact the dishes she teaches to prepare are different depending on the day of the week).
Bee was very happy to see us again and, to reward our interest, she led our small group of "amateur chefs" in a market, different from the one visited previously, where we could also learn about other (- strange -) typical products: wild mushrooms, lotus and banana flowers, beehives of wild bees and eggs (larvae) of red ants (- which Bee has assured us are ingredients of some delicious dishes! -).
The dishes of this new cooking class included a tasty coconut milk soup, the famous crunchy "spring rolls" (different from those eaten in Vietnam) and a delicious chicken with cashews. This time we tried a "red" curry with an extraordinary taste.
For dessert: mango and coconut milk with sticky rice colored with vegetables and edible flowers.
Finally Bee wanted to surprise us by picking a giant fruit from a tree in his garden: the jackfruit, a truly delicious fruit that we never tasted before. Thanks, dear Bee!
Also this time all the cooked dishes were delicious and we were able to discover new flavors of the extraordinary Thai cuisine. Some dishes were a novelty for us, others, which we already knew, were far better in taste.
The "authentic" Thai cuisine (which is different from the "domesticated" tastes for tourists or that we can find in Thai restaurants outside Thailand) is a fantastic experience and we are really happy to have done a two-day cooking class.
Thank you once again Mrs. Bee!
To see each other again (hopefully).

Wanted to do a cooking class in Thailand before coming to Thailand and this one was special. You get to see Bees pride and joy her garden, explore different herbs and salds and in general feel warm and welcome throughput. Her husband Andrew was also very nice, picking us up at the hotel.
The cooking is superb, Bee is one of the happiest persons alive and its contagious, the garden creates a wonderful atmosphere and the cook book we got as a hood bye present provides even more recepies to try at home. If you are in the area whether you like cooking or not check it out you won't regret it.

Absolutely wonderful experience, I would give 10 stars if I could! Bee the host is fabulous and provides an amazing cooking class in the most gorgeous green setting. So peaceful, friendly and relaxed I couldn’t recommend this class enough.
If you are looking for a cooking class whilst you are in Chiang Mai look no further! You must go and meet Bee ☺️
We cooked lots of great dishes, explained carefully, using only organic and locally produced ingredients. No problem catering for vegetarians, my partner had just as an enjoyable time as me!
We really enjoyed hearing about the love and passion Bee has for cooking and her garden, we loved looking around and trying all the veg and herbs straight from the ground.
Even enough time at the end for a quick nap in the hammock with our very full bellies!
Thank you Bee & Andrew!

Wow where to start....got door to door pick up and drop off included in the price. Embee and Andy were very welcoming! First we stopped at a market and got shown round being told about the different types of food. We then went to Embee’s garden which is absolutely beautiful! We had a look around and tasted her home grown food! We then went into the kitchen and we cooked 5 dishes, yes 5 dishes!!!! The price we paid to do this was incredible defiantly got our moneys worth and more! We would highly recommend anyone to do this it is was an amazing afternoon making different types of Thai food.

Don’t book. I was waiting for two hours and they never showed up to pick me up. I also tried to call the property multiple times and they wouldn’t pick up.

Hi Thomas,
I am so sorry for any inconvenience that you may have had in booking a cooking course at Bees Garden Cooking School. We are a small family business that like many was severely affected during the covid lockdowns. We intended to reopen in 2022, however my husband had a motorcycle accident that he is only now recovering from. Presently we are renovating the school and gardens after the long closure to ensure that they meet our high standards for our guests, and will reopen in October 2023. Presently there are no courses at Bees Garden available for booking on Trip Advisor and I was wondering if you could let us know who you booked through so that we can look into this matter. We would be delighted to have you as a guest at Bees Garden if you travel to Chiang Mai in the future.

My husband and I chose this course because of the recipes that were offered. We were picked up at our hotel along with another couple by Bee’s husband. We met Bee at a local food market and learned about lots of choices for fresh vegetables and fruit. Then we were driven to their home, a lovely peaceful area outside Chiang Mai. They grow a large variety of herbs, vegetables and fruit and we toured the gardens. Then to cooking. Bee has a beautiful facility with 9 well equipped kitchens. It is kept very clean. We got right to cooking and eating. The prep work for the meals was already done And each meal had. It’s own mystery box. Bee was an excellent instructor, giving tips and advice. She is fun and kind and very approachable. I learned so much and feel confident I can cook these dishes for others. This was a fabulous way to learn in a lovely setting with wonderful Bee and her kind and helpful husband. I hope everyone who is looking for a cooking class will sign up for this one!

Our day at Bees was a highlight of our five week holiday in Thailand. We are three kiwi women and we suggest you just trust us go ahead and book it! You'll cook delicious Thai food and laugh all day with delightful Embee who speaks perfect English, is passionate about her organic garden and has huge knowledge about edible plants. The school's lovely building, purpise built recently on Bee and her husband's rural land, is the perfect place for this coming school. Do it! You'll remember your time there for ever. Much more than just a day's cooking.

Bee is an accomplished cook and cookery teacher, who has opened her own school, in a beautiful purpose built cookery studio in her self planted organic garden. The garden faces the mountains, surrounded by paddy fields about 14 km outside Chiang Mai. Her husband Andrew picked us up from our hotel and drove us to their local farmers’ market where we met Bee. She spent a fun and informative time explaining all the local produce to us, it’s culinary uses and flavour. We then arrived at the school and were given refreshing lemon grass and basil tea all grown in her garden. She took us on a tour and explained each species of vegetable and fruit, it’s used and how to prepare them. Everything from coffee beans to lettuce, aubergine to papaya.
Then we began to cook: 6 tremendous dishes, including chicken and basil and blue rice (dyed with flowers from the garden) sticky rice and mango, and a sensational Tom Yum with shrimps...
We devoured everything with relish (what great cooks we’d become!)
There was time for a quick group selfie, before we were whisked home in luxury. Divine.
