I came here specifically to get some lunch. The choices are endless! So much to choose from and very inexpensive! It's a fun place to walk around and see a Thai market in action. Not designed for food to be eaten there as no tables.

Local Transportation - Appropriate Choices (4 Replies)
We are familiar with a small portion of the walled city and have exclusively used songthaew's, even from the airport into town. If we are in the Worrorot Market area, there are numerous songthaew's in a variety of colours. How do we determine which one can takeus to for e.g. Tesco Lotus or Thanin Market or Big C? We are young seniors and the more time we hang around in the heat of the day looking for transportation, the less productive our trip gets. If the best choice for 2 is a Tuk Tuk,...More

The red song teaws are the in town ones, the yellow, whites and other colors are going to the outlying villages. The reds usually pick up on the west and north sides of the market, the other colors wait riverside. The most expedient way is tuk tuk, but you are looking at 60 to 100 baht depending on your bargaining skills.
