    Experience of a lifetime!
Amazing! I did a lot of research to find an ethical sanctuary where the elephants would be in natural surroundings, and this was perfect. A brilliant experience the whole family will never forget. The guides are a family who live in the jungle looking after 3 elephants they protect in natural surroundings. We fed and stroked the gorgeous three elephants- so gentle and friendly….then trecked through the jungle to a waterfall where we bathed and had lunch of rice on banana leaves and watermelon. We are a family of 4 with two children aged 11 and 14 and they found the walking ok but would be difficult for young children or elderly as it’s very steep! Glad we wore our walking shoes. We then walked on to the end (did a circular walk past cows, pigs, goats, chickens and even saw a small snake!) where we then bathed with the elephant. Such a special experience!

Great 2-day trip in the ChiangMai Jungle
We did a 2-day-trip and it was absolutely great. On the first day we had a long jungle hike with a local guide. He explained us all kind of fun and interesting jungle things. Took us to his home village, to a beautiful waterfall where we had a swim and a yummy lunch. The night we spent at “Spice villa”, the same family’s jungle-hotel. The whole next day we basically spent with the elephants. We visited them, prepared food for them, went to the water with them, it was amazing. The “elephant-guy” (the man who runs the place and lives there) was very nice, explained us a lot of things. Really to be recommended!!

    Amazing & ethical experience
Very lovely area, elephants are beautiful! Completely ethical, no riding the elephants, just observing and feeding them bamboo and watermelon. Also the change to wash them in the stream at the end. Had fun in the water fall and also included a lovely meal at the end with local music played. If you’re looking for an ethical and lovely place, you should so go there!

It was really important to me when booking an elephant excursion that the elephants are cared for/loved, and that they live happy lives. We booked this tour with the recommendation of a tour booking person. We were picked up at our hotel maybe around 12:30 (we did the half day). The guy who picked us up seemed a bit frantic and rushed. There was no room in the back of the truck (the truck bed has benches), so we sat in the truck itself. You would think this would be better, but it was actually one of the most uncomfortable car rides of my life. The backseat was pretty much a board across with a gap so your back sags in the gap, and a board for the bench. Honestly sitting on a rock would have been more comfortable. It was quite a long ride to get to the elephants. When we got there, there was confusion about where the bathrooms were/where the toilet paper was as everyone’s English was very hard to understand. We were given different shirts to wear, but no explanation was given as to why we wore those shirts. First we saw the momma and baby elephant. I really wanted to learn more about the elephants, but it was SO DIFFICULT to understand anything our guide was saying, which was a bummer. Next we saw three adult elephants. For all of the elephants, we fed them the skin of coconut. It was nice seeing the elephants and you could tell (especially with Natalie the baby) that they do like their caregivers. But I did feel bad that they are made to come to these spots for us tourists to feed them. After the feeding we went to a small waterfall. After the waterfall, we gave the three adults mud baths, and then regular baths. I felt like some of them really didn’t want the baths, so again I felt bad. I really just wanted to observe them in their natural habitat, not make them do anything they didn’t want to. This was followed by a mud bath and regular bath for the mom elephant and Natalie. After this, we had dinner, which was light and okay. I will say, I ended up getting more food when we got back to the hotel as I was very hungry. The ride back was the same as the ride there... painful. We were contained to the backseat again. Honestly, it just wasn’t what I was expecting. I think it’s a new company just getting their feet on the ground, but I disliked not being able to understand anything the guide was saying as well as the car ride and making the elephants do things. Next time I’ll do my research better or maybe just avoid any elephant tourism altogether.

It was a 2.5 +hour ride before reaching the park (1hour to get to the park after picking up the other tourists). We were greeted with an energetic and funny guide. There were a total of 5 elephants confined to an area with more than 20 + other tourists anxious to feed and take pictures with the elephants...It was quite overwhelming. The best part for my adult kids was bathing the elephants in the river . I would recommend the number of tourists be limited at one time and that the transportation be arranged so that some tourists are not confined to the vehicle for 2-3 hrs an example would be decreasing the tour price by 100 baht and arranging pick up at one central location to go to the park. My kids and I were picked up at 7:20 , missed out breakfast , just so we could spend hours picking up other tourists prior to going to the park. Total time at the park approximately 3 total time driving 4.5 hours.

Unfortunatelly it was not the best experience. We chose this tour mainly because we were after something more genuine and because we wanted to support the locals. We read it was a small family business and that they've been caring for elephants for 4 generations and some Thai people recommend it. We also read a lot of nice comments online so we thought it would be the best choice but actually it was not very pleasant. The place is big and full of nature but it looks a bit abandoned. We got there and there was no one around so we had to find the trail to go to the main "house". We didn't have any kind of explanation or information about the place, the elephants or how our day would be and when asking questions the answers were vague. We were just taken to some place and told "feed the elephant, photo with the elephant". Then we would walk quickly somewhere else. It didn't seem to me that the elephants and the carers had a strong bond too. They were NOT treated in a bad way, there was no riding of course, it was all on their time (I guess) but it just didn't feel right. The elephants also had some loose ropes around their necks and when I asked about it they said it was a GPS (which I didn't actually believe).
Lunch was very different from the tour flyer photos and from the google photos. We were told lunch would be a few options of veggies etc but it was just one individual portion of rice and eggs (I'm a vegan so I didn't eat). The tour was also supposed to be a full day but it was just 4 hours. Super expensive for what it delivers. But specially because of the elephants, it didn't seem to me like they were very happy.
The car that took us there was excellent and private. The driver was super cautious and nice. The waterfall at the property is beautiful but overall I do not recommend. And I suggest that before booking with any other company you read more to really understand where the elephants came from and how they are kept and treated. That's what I thought I've done but clearly and I should've digged deeper.

A half day tour. It was great listening to the guide about the elephants and to see how much they are loved. We made their food and fed them and then covered them in mud and washed it off in the river and then fed them some more. It was magical and amazing to seek how much these elephants are loved and looked after. I highly recommend this tour.

It was a great experience! Very nice people and a super beautiful area. They not only had elephants, but also horses, chickens, cows, bulls, cats and kittens. We were also provided with delicious food and some live music from our tour guide, who was a super cute man. It all felt very genuine, ethical and natural. One of my favorite activities in Thailand!

Thank you Mister Ken! My friend and I visited elephant village on New Years Day 2023 and had such a lovely experience. It is clear to see that the 4 elephants living here are very happy. There are no chains, and no riding of the elephants, you get to feed the elephants fruits and help them bathe in the river. They seem to love Mr Ken and his family, I would definitely recommend this place over other elephant tours in the area.

We were given transportation to and from Elephant village, as well as a nice lunch, for the reasonable price of 1750thb.

My experience with the elephant village hostel was fantastic! Mr. Ken was an amazing host and went above and beyond to provide us a hospitable and comfortable experience. The elephants here are very clearly well treated by the local village and are very happy living in the sanctuary. I highly recommend this trip to anyone looking to have an ethical experience with elephants in Thailand. Mr. Ken and his family are incredible hosts and took great care of us while we were there. I can’t recommend this experience enough for anyone looking for an authentic Thai elephant encounter on their travels.

My boyfriend and I had the most magical morning at Elephant Village Sanctuary, it was completely beyond what we expected as it is all natural and the elephants are free to roam around the jungle, compared to other local sanctuaries where they do not.
We received a warm welcome from Ken who gave us a great introduction to the elephants and some background into the place. We then walked up and met 2 elephants who we fed and spent some time with before walking further up and meeting 2 more. After spending as much time as we wanted and asking questions we were taken to a beautiful waterfall before walking back to the main house and had an amazing time washing and playing with the elephants in the river, it was truly unique as you are in the wild. After saying goodbye to the elephants we cleaned up and were treated to a delicious lunch overlooking the rice paddies and river, it was really one of the best things we’ve ever done.
If you are looking for an elephant experience you will find nowhere better than Elephant Village Sanctuary, you can tell the elephants are well cared for and they love Ken and his family, everything is so natural and authentic and it was amazing, go here!!

Unfortunately I agree with the Google reviews: this excursion is disappointing. 1 hour to turn around to pick up the other tourists that the driver couldn't find + 1h30 to go to the sanctuary. Let's move on, we are in Thailand, except that once there the "guide" was no longer waiting for us at the end because I was pressed for time I think. So we were alone. And what displeased us the most was that in the end he made a price for the delay on some people by telling them not to say anything and thinking that we hadn't heard. In conclusion and having spoken to other people about it, for the price there are much better options.

Very nice tour guide and very well organised. Was great to see the elephants in their natural habitat. Fortunate to to go on a sunny day and feed the elephants with bananas, visit the waterfall and give the two elephants mud baths. The elephants seemed to be treated ethically and are protected. The tour guide was very informative, knowledgeable and was easy to understand.
