Central Plaza is very near chiangmai airport, you can do a last minute shopping. Its not that fantastic as not many people there also. Personally I preferred the central festival shopping mall which is more lively and lots of discounts. Many food eateries also

Wandering through this eclectic shopping centre, stumbled across the upstairs food court near the cinema and amusement games arcade. Head for the KHAO SOI LAMDUAN FAHAM stall, holders of a Michelin recommendation for 2020-2022. A choice of curry noodles in a not too spicy but very flavourful soup/gravy. We tried the chicken and pork varieties, plus the pork satay. All were excellent. Prices ranging from Bht 50 - 70. Very friendly staff. Bargain of the trip.

The mall is bit far from city center but thanks to the free shuttle service. The driver's attitude was very nice. Nice cinema! There a lots of staff standing by to offer service which was very helpful to a foreign traveler like me. A great variety for shopping.

The only two malls we go to are Airport Plaza and Central. This place is miles ahead of Central. A lot of the sores are multi nationals that you see back home, but the Northern Thai village floors are excellent. They showcase a lot of local artisan work, great for gifts to take back home.

The food courts are also excellent and cheap as chips. There is also a fantastic cinema complex in the mall. There are some excellent local IT stores also selling notebooks, computers, accessories and phones at reasonable prices.

There are no shortage of coffee places and restaurants, all this is anchored by a large Robinsons department store. It is easy to get to.

I prefer this to Festival Central Mall due to the merchandise the mall carries and the price points which is less intimidating. Had a haircut, shampoo and blowing at Hair World at level 2 for 300 tbh. It is such a steal compared to what's being charged in my country. The basement food court is spectacular with a wide choice of authentic Thai cooked food, desert and local titbits to buy home. There are free shuttle services to and from many hotels at hourly interval. Will definitely come here again if I were to visit Chiang Mai again.

This seems to be the biggest mall in Chiang Mai. It consists mostly of bigger stores, lots of restaurants, a nice food court and a cushy cinema. The brands here are all genuine and so are the prices, no haggling to be had sadly. The AC is good and so is the food court, so when the rain hits, run here for a bite and a flic! I recommend MK and Black Canyon, yummy! Bring an extra shirt for the cinema as the AC is really blasting in there!
Oh! The bottom floor has some interesting small stores with unique clothing items, haggle friendly, so check it out!

The Central Airport Plaza is a great modern mall in Chiang Mai. It has a lot of modern shops and western restaurants. I did some shopping and got my hair cut at Tom Lay's! After reading the reviews on Trip Advisor I gave it and shot and was pleasantly please (just got a trim). My hairdresser spoke GREAT English so I have no trouble communicating what I wanted and it cost me $12 US with tip whereas I pay $60 at home! I also want to echo how great the shuttle was to and from the Central Airport Plaza. It takes an hour and 5 minutes to do the entire loop (from the Central Airport Plaza to all the hotels and back to the Central Airport Plaza). The hotels include (in order) Amore Thapae, Imperial Mae Ping, Central Duang Tawan, D2 Dusit, Suriwong, Royal Princess, The Empress, and Holiday Inn. It takes about 5 minutes in between each hotel. The departure time from Central Airport Plaza is at 10:30am, 11:30am, 1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, 4:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm, 7:00pm!

A great way to kill a couple of hours or more (if you have time to catch a movie) if you have a late afternoon/evening flight.

I completely agree with the reviewers who recommended the Thai food bazaar in the basement, they serve good quality street food at prices comparable to the night markets and in my personal opinion, generally tastier too, as evidenced by its popularity with the locals. I bought a pack of mango sticky rice for later, much better than having crappy airline food IMHO.

There is a supermarket on the other side of the basement (not connected to the Thai food bazaar so you’ll have to go up one level and head to another section of the mall before going down again), but it’s a bit more high end and not the Big C type of cheap supermarket if that’s what you’re after.

I would agree with the other reviewers that while this mall is older than Central Festival, it is a bit more interesting. Definitely worth a visit if you have some time to kill before your flight. Just ask your hotel to drop you off at Central Plaza rather than the airport, check the information counters for the airport shuttle departure times (see attached photo of the schedule as at 1 Jan 2019) and then catch the airport shuttle to the airport (5 min ride).

Important tips:
1. There is left luggage or luggage storage in the basement just outside of the Thai food bazaar, they stored my medium sized suitcase for 3 hours for just 40 Baht.
2. It pays to be early if you want to catch the free airport shuttle as there is limited space for passengers and luggage, I recommend being there 15 mins before the departure time.

CentralPlaza is 5 minutes away from Chiangmai Airport. We decided to check out at 11AM, call Grab (not Uber or a Red Truck), proceeded to this mall where we could eat as much Thai food as we can before leaving Chiang Mai. The 3 food courts are spread out. There's 1 on the highest floor, but the best one is the larger food court by entrance 3G on the lowest floor. Conveniently, 3G is also the closest exit to the Free Shuttle:) We checked our flight time and took advantage of the free shuttle to the airport.
