We hired Bon Voyage for our two day private trip to Chiang Mai with an English Speaking Guide. We were a family of five travelling with my 70 year old mother and my two sons who were 5 Years and 3 Months. We had very specific needs when we contacted Khun Ping. She was very helpful in clarifying all the queries and also advised us to skip the Golden triangle keeping in mind the troubles that may arise during the long day especially due to our youngest son. I did'nt want to miss it and went ahead to include it. Khun Thas our guide along with the driver, whose name I forgot, arrived on time to pick us up at our hotel. The guide spoke good english and the driver was also able to speak some. They already had the details of our family members and the necessary arrangements were made accordingly. The van was very comfy and perfect for five though it can accommodate more people. Khun Thas is very knowledgeable about the area and the culture and the driver has excellent driving skills. They were also very helpful in attending to the needs of my mother and son. Khun Thas was very patient with my eldest son as she tried to answer every silly question he had. He liked Khun Thas so much that he wants to visit Chiang Mai again just to visit her. The driver was very attentive and also assisted in taking care of my youngest son at times. What started as a guided trip began to feel like a family trip pretty soon. For our second day Khun Thas advised that we skip the Golden Triangle and recommended visiting the Chiang Mai Flower festival instead, as she came to know that my mother and wife have a liking to see flower gardens. The advise was worth it as addition of 3 more hours to visit Golden Triangle could have made my youngest son restless. Overall it was a very joyful experience for all of us and a good trip to end 2019. Also lunch and water were included in our package which was a bonus. I would definitely recommend Bon Voyage for your tours in Chiang Mai o Chiang Rai and would like to hire them again if I visit that area. By the way, my wife gave them a 5 star rating. Thank You Bon Voyage and especially Khun Ping, Khun Thas and our driver.

Please note : Duration of Visiting Golden Temple, Long Nech Karen village and Golden triangle will take approximately 14 -16 hours. Hope this review is helpful and apologize the long post.

4.5. We did a 3 day, 2 night trek with Bon Voyage including Doi Inthanon mountain, Karen village, bamboo rafting. Overall it was a great experience. Our guide Tong / Tom picked us up for our hotel right on time. He used his own car, so was our driver too for this private tour.
Pros: very authentic village visit and hosted by villagers. We were some of first tourists since COVID. Beautiful mountain scenery. Flexible and responsive to our needs. Food was very good - including chance to try local dishes as well as “western” food for us. We didn’t have to carry all our luggage as we were able to leave stuff in car.
Cons: On day 2 we had a different guide who spoke very little English. This wasn’t really a problem, and he was kind and helpful, except that we finished early and then had to wait about 2 hours before Tong returned with the bulk of our luggage.

We took a day tour around Chiang Mai with Bon Voyage Thailand. Explored ancient ruins by bicycle in a Thai village, ate Khao Soi, sailed down Ping River, explored flower markets, had a Rickshaw ride through the city, and visited a temple. Our tour guide Nat was fantastic, he speaks perfect English and answered every question! Later we went for dinner and dance show. Bon Voyage ensured we were comfortable and happy, and we weren't rushed. A beautiful, relaxing day out. Thank you all for making our day memorable and special.

I had the pleasure of taking a tour with Bon Voyage. Had a wonderful day biking around the ancient old city Wiang Kum Kam, cruised down the Ping River and took a gentle calm ride in an old style rickshaw. At night we experienced a traditional Khantoke dinner and show. The guides were knowledgeable with a sense of humour and spoke excellent English, very professional team. This is my second tour with this company and I would definitely recommend them.

I recently visited Chiang Rai, with my mother, for 2 days and I booked my staying and tours with Bon Voyage Thailand. Super serious agency, I always kept in touch with them on WhatsApp and email, they are fast in replying back and helpful. We had our guide, Jackie Chan waiting for us at the airport in Chiang Rai, together with our driver, James Bond. Jackie is the best guide ever! I rarely met someone so professional and dedicated, he explained to us everything about the area and the places we visited. He took us so many pictures, very patient, and funny! Also the driver, James Bond, best driver ever, you feel safe with the 2, they really are the best. I never thought that we could meet such nice people, kind and who took us in the 2 days, everywhere: White Temple, Emerald Temple, Black House, Blue Temple, orange farm, green tea plantations, we reached all the way to the Golden triangle, at the border with Laos and Myanmar- at Mekong River.. amazing. We will never forget this holiday. Great places, super nice accommodation, delicious Thai food, Bon Voyage Thailand, thank you very much! Thank you for organizing for us the best two days of our lives. I recommend to absolutely everyone willing to visit Thailand to contact with all confidence Bon Voyage Thailand. With tour guides like Jackie Chan, you will definitely have the time of your life!

Since we wanted to avoid Panda Tour at all costs (just read their reviews on Tripadvisor) we decided to book a one-day trekking trip to the jungle with Bon Voyage. The trip included 1-hour easy trekking, bamboo rafting, lunch, and a visit to an elephant sanctuary where elephant riding was not allowed. We are against animal cruelty so this last thing was really important to us. After reading the plan, we decided to book it.

The first surprise came early in the morning when the van arrived at our hotel. The company name that was written on the van was: PANDA TOUR (the one we were trying to avoid). We thought that maybe both companies shared vehicles... But nope. When we arrived to the place PANDA TOUR name was everywhere.

The trekking thing was fun and quite easy (even for the not fit ones) so we were happy. The bamboo rafting thing was a little bit boring but it was okay as well. At some point of the trekking, the guide suggested us booking the Tiger activity. It is well known that those tigers are drugged in order to keep unconscious so tourists can take pictures with & close to them. Therefore, we started to suspect things.

The main problem came when we arrived at the Elephant Sanctuary. We've been to real sanctuaries before so we more or less know how animals should look like and behave. These elephants had chains, looked sad and old (even though they were young), the place was not appropriate, and the keepers looked weird and unprofessional. They told us that the elephants were rescued from a mining company but we didn't believe it. Panda Tour offers cruel elephant shows and elephant riding activities, so probably these poor animals came from their own business. We could smell the fear of the elephants towards the keepers. It was a horrible experience. I am attaching some pictures so you can see it with your own eyes.

If you are against animal cruelty avoid Bon Voyage and Panda Tour at all costs.

Thank you for your feedback. We have contacted Panda Tour about the incident you witnessed. Their elephant sanctuary has never allowed tourists to ride their elephants. However, what you saw was the mahout (elephant owner) sitting on the elephant. Panda Tour would like to kindly note that they strictly forbid elephant shows and elephant chair riding activities. In rare instances, the mahouts do ride the elephants. However, they have acknowledged your concern and have spoken with the owner of the elephant about this situation. Thank you for caring about the elephant's wellbeing. We hope you enjoyed the remainder of the trip.

Booked the trip to Chiang Mai by Internet having read reviews, very efficient and punctual.
Visited White Temple - tourist trap!
Black House - excellent, lots of art and a lovely tranquil atmosphere
Golden Triangle - good to visit for the experience although I don't recommend trip across to ' Laos' which is really an excuse for shopping. Also captive monkeys and a baby bear are very off putting to sensible folk
Karen Village - more shopping

This was along day out with much to enjoy and a little not to enjoy, our guide and driver were both first class and tour was great value.
Also included an excellent lunch.
