I took a 3-day class choosing course nos. 1, 2, and 4 not necessarily taken in that order. The first 2 days were with Thannapon or "Pon." He took us to the local market and explained the different ingredients. We were then brought to the cooking school. The procedure was: Pon would demonstrate with one of us assisting and then... I didn't know what to expect at a Thai cooking school, but the instructor was patient, funny, and obviously skilled. He took the small class to a local market where he explained ingredients and answered questions - we all bought curry paste packets to bring home. We learned much about cooking Thai food and techniques in general by taking a... More

Well explained course with Instructor Pod, she was nice and was trying to make the class dynamic and fun. Garden was beautiful. Area of improvement: stop at the market Instructor had a platter of herbs and explained what they're used for, but I thought this was too fast and then we were left alone in the market for 20 minutes... Before spending the day here, I was not a fan of Thai food. I also was not thrilled with learning to cook or eat it. That lasted until I tasted the first dish we made (Cream of Mushroom Soup in Coconut Milk) OMG! It was absolutely fantastic! As were the other dishes we made and this truly turned out to... More

The cooking portion of this experience was great. We prepared four different dishes and our instructors were very patient, informative and passionate about teaching us some basics of Thai cooking. The food turned out better than expected and they gave us a great cook book to take home. Booking was a bit of a challenge though. Email response was prompt... More

We spent one day learning Course 4 and it was a brilliant day spent learning and eating lots. Pon and June took us around the market where we learnt about different Thai ingredients and had the chance to shop for ingredients. Back at the cookery school we learnt a variety of dishes - all of which we got to eat... More

I've just returned from what was to be the 1/2 day class but I extended to the full day as it was so much fun. Picked up from my hotel and taken to the local market. Thought this could be a waist of time but it wasn't. Learnt plenty. Then off to cook. Best of both worlds, you get to... More

The Mai Thai cookery school was a great excursion. I would thoroughly recommend to anybody with an interest in Thai food to give this day out a go. It's superb value for money, interactive and very educational. The two of us opted for the half day class which was perfect. Four meals was plenty let alone eight which is on... More

Our traveling group of 4 friends booked our class for our trip in July about a month in advance. We had several requests for modifications as one is allergic to mushrooms and another is allergic to shellfish. We thought this would have precluded either of us from a few of the dishes as these are two common ingredients in Thai... More
