We visit this market 3 years ago and love it so much. Now come back again and feel sad. Many shops had been closed and the premise almost empty, except the cafes along the main road. Don't know why maybe it far from the main city.

I made a special trip to JJ Market, mostly in light of the glowing reviews of different shops on Travelfish. I went on a Tuesday just before noon. The place was deserted. It looks like most of the shops have shut. A few coffee / drink stands were open and all looked toward me with glimmers of hope – I was... More

Nothing special. Few sellers. Few buyers. I'd say I'm disappointed. But it might be due to the month of May??

I just stopped by around 5pm on a Tuesday. Not much activity - a few antique furniture stores open - but most were closed & def a few empty spaces - got the vibe that this place was much more active a while ago - but I did see recent signs for a farmer's market on Saturdays & Sundays from... More

this market is close to where I live in town. It is usually pretty quiet and relaxed It covers both sides of the road. There are some bars by the roadside which are busy at night. It is oriented toward a Thai clientele There are a lot of small restaurants and coffee shops. there is a small book shop in... More

I am looking to retire in Chiang Mai at the end of this year 2015.I been over to Thailand several times now and Chiang Mai always seems to be the place that wins as having the most to offer. It is more relaxed and a slower pace .

Very happy to find this lovely place, meeting some creative and artist friend. Not the market you expect to find things such as Chatuchak market in Bkk, but it is worth a visit.

Was expecting so much more from the earlier reviews, But This market has seen better days, It seems the vendors have moved to other locations. Maybe the only days this market functions is for the organic vegie market twice a week.

Need transport to get there and back to hotel. Not that easy. but worth it. Wednesday and Saturday market - 0600-0900h. Small with few vegetables, and produce. Loved it because it was quaint and filled with Thai farmers and locals. No PRC tourist in sight or within earshot. There were other antique stores there, but not open at 0730hrs. But... More
