I just had the Afternoon class (1500 Bath). Very welcoming people. Water and fresh mango was served until the class starts. The instructor I had (Ize) is the best, always smiling making sure everything was clear and asking if I had questions. We made chili paste, tom yam soup, peanut sauce, massaman curry, spring rolls, pumpkin hummus, papaya salad and..... More

Great food, great staff (Ice! :)), great atmosphere and vibe - laid back and fun so there's no pressure. We could try what everyone made and it was amazing how different everything turned out. If and when I return to Thailand in a few years, I will absolutely go again! We did the afternoon class, 3-5PM for 1,000 baht. There... More

When next in Thailand, make sure you take a cooking class at Mays school. Ive just returned to my hotel from my evening class and have to say my tutor Ice was excellent: clear instructions, food was prepped and really to go. I enjoyed this class immensely, Ice was fun as well as informative. Great to do even a preliminary... More

I am not vegetarian but this was seriously the best food that I have ever eaten. Our instructor was Ize who was so bubbly and friendly, and even added us to facebook afterwards! We had such a fun time and learned so much. We received a little cookbook and were given additional instructions as we were cooking. We were encouraged... More

Let me start off by saying I am not a vegetarian. I eat meat constantly and love every minute of it. That being said, the food I made here with my wife was the best I have eaten yet. Ize our cooking instructor was awesome, great attitude, and very knowledgeable. He even provided suggestions on how to modify recipes for... More

There is tons of cooking schools in Thailand, and to be honest, I booked one last minute and this was about the only one that had spots available, but I am so glad that we chose May Kaidee! It felt very authentic and it was a small group of only 8 people, so we got to know each other quite... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
