The area
Address
Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
How to get there
  • Phrom Phong • 7 min walk

Good live bands 8ish and very pretty lighting make this outdoor space a chilled place to head for a beer or food. Given that its main customer base is foreigners and young, wealthy Thais, prices aren't too bad. There are also some nice craft shops intermixed - as well as (randomly) an axe throwing area. Regent Chang sponsorship means that you have to search for other beers of choice.

I live in BKK, near this market and have been many times. Food, souvenirs and music is always good - it's actually all improved considerably since it first opened.

Was a bit disappointed when I brought two photos to have watercolour paintings done. The examples they show are obviously great. I paid 450 baht each and they were so unrecognizable that I couldn't give them as presents, as I had intended. I discussed this with the artist and asked for a discount but like many cases, paying is easier than getting a refund. 'Shine Bright' was the artist and though he/she admitted the likenesses weren't their best work, they didn't refund anything.

Still, go for the ambience, it's a solid market with a great location.

Called in on a Thursday evening when strolling along Sukhumvit Road as we were attracted by the music and vast array of fairy lights. Food court style eating where you can select from various food stalls including skewered kebabs, pulled pork stall, seafood, noodle and fried rice stalls as well as sushi so quite a varied mix. Food descriptions in both Thai and English along with pictures of food on offer as well as pricing so communication with food vendors us easy. We tried the seafood fried rice for 99 baht, freshly cooked in a flash and a chicken and pork skewer at 80 baht each. Dishes were tasty and adequate for supper. Nice changce to sit down, relax, eat and listen to live music in a chilled atmosphere. Other stalls were good to browse around, low end jewellery, kids clothing etc. Worth a visit if in the area near Nanas plaza, you won't get hassled like some other eateries.

Artbox based in Bangkok near Asoke station 10 min by walk.
Open every day
Decoration: pretty outdoor light
Many food stands and some bars
Shop or art gallery: not much
I will not recommend this night market if you looking for a bargain shop it's not the place.
But good for quick snacks and drinks with live outdoor music.

Note: the map is incorrect. The actual location is between Asok and Nana.

Not too crowded even on a Saturday night and the amount of stalls is reasonable; it won’t take hours to go through them. There was some interesting items for sale and it would have been a nice place to enjoy a few drinks. We found the food stalls to be very beer and grilled meat oriented (desserts and juices aside) so we decided to have dinner somewhere else. I was expecting to find some cocktails and heavy veggie burgers but there was no such luck.

Watch out for the rats!

We ventured into Art Box and found it so fun! We loved our mango smoothies at Mangonista. They have a great attention to detail in the presentation and quality. It was a fun night and we all tried different foods there. Don’t miss it!

Art Box: it's small, but that worked for me as I don't think I could make it around the big markets any more. That also means there aren't multiple stalls selling the same stuff. There is a great variety of food including pizza, pasta, pulled pork, quessadillas and the usual stuff on sticks and pad thai. And then there is the brownie stall at the front with a huge range of very nice brownies. This is in what was a park, so while they have put down floor covering, there are tree roots etc under it, so you need to watch your step..

ARTBOX is not a typical cheap goods night market, so prices are higher than other night markets. What you get in return though are nicer, more fashionable clothes and accessories. and instagrammable food.

This was an awesome pop up market. The food stalls are all unique and I really enjoyed all the variety - some delicious bites! A good collection of vendors as well. One of the coolest markets I’ve ever been to and I couldn’t have been happier that we happened to walk past it as it was on. Definitely check this out! A fun place to hang out for an evening.

Not hard to find quite close to Nana BTS skytrain station,it is smaller than most of the other markets we went to in Bangkok,About a 50/50 mix between food and drink stalls and crafts and gift stalls. It is nicely lit with lots of fairy lights and quieter than most of the other markets which makes it a lot nicer to get round. There was live music on at one end on the night we went so we sat at a nearby bar had a beer and listened for a while,There is a large range of food styles to choose from at very reasonable prices.Be warned the floor is quite uneven in places so can be a bit of a trip hazard, worth a visit if you are close as we were but would not make a long trip to get there.
