The area
Address
Neighborhood: Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

Superb bar. We were there on a thursday. American singer with Asian musicians. Great! And the Chinese Delirium theatre gives the bar a special mood. Feels like your enter Tintin’s Blue Lotus for adults. Drinks are great quality. Professional bartender. Not like the rubbish drinks in the Lebua Skybar which are triple the prices of Maggie Choo’s. A must go in Bangkok!

Maggie choo’s has become my favorite bar in town in the past month. I have visited several times a year but with the quality of the band recently, they just picked up the best in town bands to entertain everyone. Yes, the drink can be little more expensive compare to other places in Bangkok especially they has no view but the decoration really worth spending time with friends, couples or even business partner.

You need to get a table reserved by spending 4000thb or opened a bottle. This is what you can imagine how popular they are. I really love Live band music and atmosphere on lower level of the hotel.

Walking downstairs you arrive in a small restaurant the size of a living room....which I assume most people walk straight through to part the curtains into the club itself.

A seat at the bar gives a great view of the stage and the Jazz/Blues on the night we visited did quite a few sets which were all great.

The staff are in 20's character which adds to the atmosphere.

They have a strict dress code, but its worth it. One of the best places my grown up son and I visited.

Amazing place if you're a first timer in Silom. They bring in good DJs and Live bands too. We had a wonderful time. It's open till 3am and the crowd is mixed with European and Asians. The interesting feature is the vault of to be East India Company where the smoking rooms are and your bound to make good friends there. You shouldn't miss this place if you're a person looking for some difference. Prices are high and rightly so as you'll see decent crowd. I Will go back tomorrow for sure.

had heard that this place is a must visit. Well, I wouldnt say so after having visited it. The place is ordinary, music is decent, drinks are usual. Didn't try the food, so no comments on that. You can have a good time here, but it's nothing exceptional.

My friend and I visited Maggie Choos as the main night celebration for my 40th birthday trip to Thailand. They had reserved a table weeks in advance and we dressed up for a good night out. When we arrived we were shown straight through and down to the entry, where we paid our entry fee and told them our name for the reservation. It was a gay/drag night, but my friends had checked that as women we were still ok to come- not a huge issue if they had said no- we respect that some nights are geared more towards others and perhaps their preferred clientele weren’t three women :) my friends got the response that we were more than welcome. We were picked up by a host and shown to our table. I say table, I mean a side table next to a couch. With two small stools. The waitress came over to offer us our free drink and we asked her about the table. It was barely big enough to hold two drinks - her response “this is your table”. We then asked for another stool - her response “no”. At this point we were a little stunned. A reservation and confirmation a few days prior to our visit had brought a side table with two stools for three people. I decided at this point to go back to the host, who looked at me with distain when I reiterated that we were three people and had a long standing reservation - their response “that’s the table we have left”. They had told us to be there before 10. We arrived at 21:30 so were not late, dressed very well and very polite to everyone. I said ok, if that’s it then I guess we have to make do but can we at least have a seat. No, you will have to sit on the arm of the couch. We went back, and we decided to sit on the empty couch, convinced they had made a mistake on the reservation. We had a drink and at this point we decided to try and enjoy our night - then the waitress cam over with 5 guys. “ you get up, they reserved, you make room for them”. We were horrified. She was rude and there was place for everyone. Never have I been spoken to like that before and it was the last straw. We stayed for one drink in one of the smoking rooms, and then left. We went somewhere where we were welcome. Disgraceful, rude and a effectively ruined my birthday night out. We didn’t let it in the end, but what a pretentious, ridiculous bunch of idiots. Don’t go there, it’s not worth it.
