There are hundreds of paintings both large and small by Thai artists to rummage through. And some lovely sculptures as well. It is a very large gallery and there are special exhibits on the second floor as well. It is easy to get there from the BTS Sukumvit line. Get off at the Phloen Chit station and look for Soi 1. The gallery is not very far down the Soi. There isn't much modern art. If you are looking for that a good place to go to is MOCA, (Museum of Contemporary Art).

This is a business, not a museum per se. If you like contemporary Thai paintings, by the hundreds, this place is for you. Otherwise, it isn’t. A few sculptures, but basically 5 floors of paintings.

The Sombat Permpoon Gallery is a wonderful place for Art lovers to spend an hour or two when in Bangkok, the owner and staff are welcoming and friendly, you are encouraged to browse the extensive range of Thai Art on display, all the Art is for sale, ranging from low priced pieces any tourist can afford to high priced works by well known Thai Artists.

We came across this wonderful Art gallery while staying at the Ariasomvilla.
Would recommend you budget in at least 2 hours to go through their offering. If you're like me its much faster when you rummage through it yourself rather than have the staff bring them out piece-by-piece (although they're ever willing to). Unfortunately for us, we didn't have enough time to properly visit it on our maiden journey this summer so addressed it properly on this leg and ended up with an absolute stunner. You wont find Chatuchat (Weekend market) quality or prices here. A lot of the art (paintings) on display is truly worth your time and the staff is just precious. For Art lovers everywhere, this place is a must see and a true hidden gem when in Thailand !
