The area
Address
Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

I've been getting my suits, shirts and trousers made at Boss Avenue for the past 12 years. A good range of materials for suits, depending on your budget. Suits are hand finished, and are exquisite. You need t go for measurements, then a fitting, perhaps a second one, and then the final suit is delivered. They can deliver to you hotel too. Great variety of material and patterns for shirts. I'v probably had about 35-40 shirts made by them Last month, I was there and got a few Docker's-type trousers made...super comfortable.
Go see Dave at Boss Avenue...very close to the Nana BTS. Tell them Douglas sent you.

It was easy to locate this the first time round - there are always a bunch of Singaporean kids acting like they own the place and asking for a 101 alterations on a $40 shirt. Hah.
Despite their complaints, Boss Tailors is still highly frequented by us Singaporeans because of their excellent service and pricing. There are a bunch of better ones in less accessible places in Bangkok. That's why i see many online rants about this place. Bad customer service? - not really. Demanding customers - that's the problem. They want that level of quality and service at a cheaper price from Boss Tailors.
One thing that is evident is that it takes a while to find a good quality cloth. Pick the right colors, pair it with nice design trims on the collars, cuffs, and even request for diffferent collar types, cuff types and you end up with a really good shirt. It takes them a while to get it right the first time - so be prepared to go in once or twice to make adjustments. However once you've got that sorted, they note these specifications down and ever since every trip to Boss Tailors is a breeze.
There was a time when i lost some weight but decided on my usual fitting as I felt I'd gain it back. Not to Vijay however. He insisted i trim it up to my latest measurements and gave me a better fitting shirt :)
In terms of perspective, I once decided to tailor 2 shirts and pants over here in Singapore at a reputable shop in Far East Plaza. At $80 each item, I felt the quality is nowhere near Boss Tailors nor as customized in terms of cuffs, collars, designs and buttons. Made me appreciate these fellas all the more.

We visited a couple of tailors along this road and found the service here to be most welcoming.
The prices were in line with some of the cheaper tailors we visited. We got two suits, two shirts, dress & a coat tailored with two fittings. They were even kind enough to drop it off to our hotel the morning of our flight.
First day was choosing fabric and measurements, second day was first fitting with another later on in the afternoon. The morning of the third, Sanjay and his team worked overnight to correct any adjustments that needed to be made.
Only negative was the finer details with tailoring, with my initials not correctly spelt with one showing M.S while the other looked just like a scribble.
However, we would definately recommend and come back.

My family were served by Vijay. He appeared a nice fellow and he knows what to do, what measurements to take and what recommendations to make. However, most of the things turn out WRONG! On paper, he could have written specifics for collars and pockets, but it just did not happen. I believe they outsource the tailoring to the factory. I would recommend tailors with their own tailoring facilities and staff, and the Boss Avenue is just not the one. The price is competitive and reasonable. Upon making umpteen mistakes, Vijay would blame you for things you didn't say, he will claim that you wanted the things that way (which you had already specified not to). Anyway, I find him dishonest and the service is poor and inconsistent. Good thing is they do have service recovery when they made the mistakes, however, they should just be honest about making it.

This tailoring place totally ruined my first tailoring experience. First of all, the staff was neither attentive nor helpful. I had to do 2 fittings because of the error in measurement. Also they didn't pay attention to the details which I wanted. Didnt manage to try one of the shirts and it turned out horrendous. The hidden pocket on the shirt was really freaking big and ugly. I was told that the white and pink materials are relatively thick and not so translucent. But it turned out to be otherwise. Apparently the 2-pry material is ex and not as great as what they said it would be.
Give this a miss if u want something slim fit. Really, we know what kind of design and cutting we want. I even showed them pictures to make sure that they know what i was talking about. But the shirts and pants were loose and (quite) baggy. I requested for a slightly smaller cutting, but they refused to do it, and kept insisting that it is okay. I thought they know what they are doing, but i was wrong. Did 2 fittings and yet the finished products are not to my liking. Now i have to make do with what i have.
Spent almost 500sgd for 4 sets of shirts and pants. It was an expensive and not-so-worth-it experience.

I checked some other tailors before we decided us for the Boss Avenue. Sanjay made a very good first impression, so I decided us for them. He was very professional and I am very happy with my 2 suits.

Making this review after I worn their shirts and pant for 3 weeks now. I chose their 2 ply cotton material(most suitable for Singapore weather) and specifically those that are silky and smooth. They have been the best shirts I have ever worn so far.
Raj helped me with the measurements (comfort fit) and the selection of cloth. Very good tailored measurements and fabric.
I have made many shirts and pants with a tailor at Amari watergate. They are nothing compared to the ones I have gotten from Boss Avnue. The pants is also very comfy and I love to see the navy blue colour everyday.
Will definitely going to get more from them. No doubt.
Highly recommended 👍

Been making shirt & pants with them for a few time over the years. Happy with the service and clothes are fit well. Do for for fitting to confirm the size. Many range from low to high end cloth to choose.

Couldn't ask for better. Got measured for a dress on Monday, with intention to get a fitting on Tuesday, and final fitting and collection on Wednesday. Then realised I'd made a mistake with flights and was leaving Bangkok at 5am Wednesday. No problem. My dress was delivered to my hotel at 10.30pm Tuesday, about 36 hours start to finish! And, beautifully made, fully lined and fits great. Can't recommend enough!

Second return trip, purchased 3 nice shirts - visited Friday evening, done fitting on Saturday noon and collected all Saturday evening. Friendly service (special mention sunjay), nice complimentary cloth fusion in collar and cuff, and reasonably priced. Will come again and recommend to friends. Thanks.

Hi, I'm heading to bkk next week and would like to get a 3piece suit done. May I check what are the price range for Boss so I can prepare enough cash. I'm looking at just average quality suitable for SEA weather :)
Thanks alot in advance!
Written January 5, 2018
HI The average price for a nice suit would be between 125 and 200 depending on the material. I just had a new pilot uniform done for 135.
Hope that helps.
