    Luxurious and convenient
This shopping mall was very relaxing. Great choice of shops from more affordable to high end fashion brands and a wide range of food choices. I had a fantastic dinner at Honmono Sushi on the 5th floor. I had there the best sashimi I ever had. Incredible quality. Apparently there are some other Hommono Sushi restaurants at other locations with mixed reviews. But this one was absolutely top notch. I highly recommend their sashimi! As there were some senior Japanese business men this was a sign that it must be good :)

    Beautiful!
The Central Embassy is beautiful. The shops are high-end. There is a bank there. The restaurants are well decorated. We had lunch at a seafood restaurant for mini reunion on the 5th floor at the mall. The AIS shop is nice. The book store and the coffee shops on the 6th floor were beautiful. The prices are high.

    Another Expensive Bangkok Mall
Central Embassy was on our food list due to Eathai, the upmarket food court. Other than that, it didn’t mean anything to me. It was just another fancy lifestyle mall with a futuristic design. When viewed from the top, it has an infinity symbol. Logistically, Central Embassy connects to 2 BTS Stations, Chit Lom & Ploenchit via walkways. It also connects to Central Department Store via a 2nd floor skybridge. My friends & I visited Eathai for lunch. Unfortunately, we had a negative experience as our preferred food stall had stopped operating & moved to another unknown location. We made do with whatever was accessible to our faith & tastebuds. Afterall, the food court on the basement level offers dishes from all over Thailand inclusive of seafood & street food dishes. My soulmate & I had always liked the restrooms as they were equipped with Japanese working closets. We spent some time enjoying the luxury in the restrooms before venturing off to boutiques such as Prada. The Prada boutique was huge & the salesgirl who attended to me was polite & accommodating. She helped me by calculating the conversion rate for a particular handbag of my choice. Unfortunately, it was out of my budget & thus, I couldn’t purchase it & left feeling disappointed. There were other boutiques which I wanted to visit but we didn’t have much time as we were supposed to meet my cousin-in-law who will be bringing us to Jim Thompson Factory Outlet. Needless to say, Central Embassy has a charm of its own. We did not have the opportunity to explore it fully but as for me, it will be remembered as the mall that is equipped with Japanese water closets.

This is, in theory, an “upscale” mall with all the requisite retailers, e.g., Piaget, Gucci, et al.

Despite the rent that the retailers must be paying in this 5-story mall, there is essentially no Wi-Fi. Yes, you are offered the opportunity to share your details (including your telephone, email and passport number. Then you are signed in, but no access is provided and then within 3 minutes, the notice shows that there is “no internet connection”.
I went to the Information Desk to inquire and was told that “it’s free so sometimes it’s very, very slow.
I hate to inform Central Embassy that they are not offering “free” Wi-Fi since it doesn’t work.
I’ve been to this mall several times and it’s not worth the aggravation.
Just remember, if you’re there, you will not have access to Google.

This mall has delivered: very pleasant surroundings, a nice selection of shops and a well planned book store at the top floor, called the Open House.

To add, the basement food court served local Thai meals that were reasonably priced. It was also a place to get souvenirs.

I am specifically adding a review ONLY for Hermes at this location.

I have visited to browse the store over 2 and a half years, having shopped at Hermes worldwide for over 15 years. This is by far the worse store I have ever visited. The attitude of the staff is very negative and discouraging, this applies to 4 staff over many visits which I have given them chances. They do not welcome you, much less go out of their way to help. In fact I always get the feeling they want everyone out of the store as soon as possible. I do not ask pointless questions and never enquire about bags, I am only interested in Ready to Wear, shoes and homeware. If it’s not available they never offer to help to find it in another local store. Overall it’s a deplorable experience, unworthy of the Thai people and of the brand. I have never encountered such rudeness from any of the local people over my years living here, and I have only good things to say about the locals in general. It is unbelievable but I have also read very similar reviews elsewhere. I hope others will have much better experiences to share. Overall the mall, the other shops and restaurants is a very good place to visit and I love going there.

We were staying at the Conrad, and happened to walk into Central Embassy via the overhead connections. The mall was relatively new, modern and clean. It had top end brands available on various floors. Yes the place was beautiful but did not leave an impression of revisit. Many on the 6th floor but offerings were a bit expensive. One could go to the food court on the basement level. Many delicious foods were available at your pick.

This is my first review on the much awaited Diplomat Cinemas which are incidentally the most expensive in Thailand.

We started the evening meeting outside the building where one of the friends was taking pictures and tried to avoid getting the steps in the picture as the grass was worn and covered with sand- especially the bottom step.

As we entered the cinemas we just couldn't believe the appearance as it looks so amateur. Unlike the stunning Paragon cineplex cinemas which I would give 10/10, I would rate the diplomat cinemas 4/10.
When ordering a movie ticket you get some pre- movie refreshments which is poor in quality and you are seated not in a private area but in front of all visiting guests into the lounge itself.

Once inside, staff only respond after twenty minutes if you want to order a drink...hence the waiter button is useless.

The area outside the cinemas is incomplete with major construction defects such as on the rendering of the contoured ceilings.

Ticketing staff need better training and frankly speaking could not sell the product at all.

I think the 'so called ultra- luxury mall' has failed compared to Siam Paragon. Only locals are using the mall for a thoroughfare to avoid the heat outside and I was told that only the coffee shops were doing well. Some of my expat friends mentioned that the flooring was bodged ( covered in felt on some floors) and that there should be large thick-piled rugs put down until some nicer marble flooring is put down. Someone told me that he felt the mall will be 'a lost leader' if an initial impact to the luxury market is not made.

Unless the owners try to replicate Siam Paragon they will miss the luxury retail market by a mile ...as least a lobby pianist and some stunning decorations Like Gaysorn plaza has for now (picture attached). One thing I know for sure, is that the Park Hyatt group will not be impressed!

When visit the Central Embassy, do not miss the ‘Open House’ on the 6th and highest floor of the shopping complex. The way the space was decorated is amazingly challenging. The high ceiling gives another dimension to its look. The whole floor is a real treat for artist, interior decorator, and art lovers. Many tourists just enjoyed simply to browse through the floor or frequent one of the food and beverages venue and absorb the unique atmosphere. This place is highly recommended to visit.

There are numerous places in Bangkok where you can get a cheap and decent haircut...and at most of the places you are sure to leave with less hair than when you arrived. But the outcome of the treatment can be quite mixed...
If you want to have a special experience, I would recommend you to try Moga Salon at Central Embassy. I have been there a couple of times over the last few months and will for sure return again. When you arrive, you will be seated and the start is a massage of your neck and shoulders with an aromatic oil of your selection. After that you will receive a pleasant shampoing before you return to the hairdressers´chair for the haircut. But you will not only receive the haircut, you will also receive a delightful and relaxing massage of your hands. Very professional and skilled people in all parts of the process.
You will notice a lot of the local wealthy young and old (men and women) enjoying the services of the establishment...and it is not cheap...I beleive I paid THB 1100 for one hour of indulging experience. But I will be back.
