I'd just like to say that we had two excellent day trips booked through this company. We booked through Tor who was our hotel rep and he was very knowledgeable of the local area and provided us with some good hints and tips!

We went on two excursions with Terry, the drivers were different on each occasion but were equally great. They also returned us safely to the airport. We were met in the hotel by Terry and taken to the black limo which was immaculately clean inside and out. The driver always opened the door for us when we exited or entered the car. During the excursion we were provided with cold water and hand wipes to freshen up. Terry provided us with lots of interesting information throughout the excursions and ensured a smooth entry into sites. We visited The Grand Palace and Damnern Sandauk Floating Market. We felt like royalty, and going back to bus excursions in Singapore wasn't the same

We took the full day trip to the Golden Triangle. Originally I was a little apprehensive about the trip as I thought it would be a long boring bus ride where we would travel for three hours, get off of the bus look at some rocks, and a river and then travel back another three hours. I was pleasantly surprised. I believe that the value of the trip comes with the knowledge and personality of the tour guide. We took a private trip where our guide started by telling us a little about Chiang Mai. As we traveled toward the Golden Triangle, he explained what we would see along the way, and gave us a short synopsis of each site. He explained where we were as we traveled along, and once we arrived at each stop, he thoroughly explained what we were viewing and the significance of the attraction. Our first stop was the hot springs that swelled up from the active volcanos. This was very picturesque, and the stories intriguing. After the explanation we stretched our legs, then traveled onto the White Temple. The temple was beautiful, and unique. Again, our guide explained how it came to be, told us stories about the artist who designed the temple, and then shared every story ( truth or imagined) that he could think to share about this temple. He provided time for us to visit and take some pictures on our own. He also made a great photographer as he made sure to take photographs so that everyone could be included in the photo. Our next stop was to the village where the Long Neck tribe lived. Again, he shared their history and invited us to have conversations with them while he translated. Our next stop was to the Golden Triangle. We viewed the triangle and had lunch overlooking the points where the rivers meet. We opted not to take the boat ride. Our guide provided adequate explanations and history about this point. Our final stop was to the small market and village at the Burma (Myanmar) border. We took lots of pictures, visited the market and was ready for our return trip. On the trip home our guide took every opportunity to explain where we were and provide whatever tidbits of information that he had. Our trip ended a little before 7:00 pm. It was a long day but well worth the trip. I don't remember the guide's name, but the company was Asian Destination. The driver was also wonderful, and very cautious. He was sure to keep us safe. With the exception of the Long Neck village, I am not sure if there are fees to get into any of the sites.
