My wife and I took our two kids aged 11 and 9 to the school for a morning class. I deliberately chose the morning class because it included a visit to a local market. I consider this whole experience the highlight of our trip. The school is very well run and the class is structured nicely, over four courses (appetiser,... More

My teenage daughter and I recently attended the afternoon cooking session. The venue was lovely, and it was easily accessible by the skytrain. From Surasak station you use exit 2 and you can see the building from the platform. We cooked 4 dishes which were demonstrated first and then you could taste the dish and then head off to cook... Visited as a couple on the morning session. This really is a great place, they take you to the market to tell you about all the ingredients and show you where they come from then you head back to the kitchen to cook 4seperate dishes with a demonstration in between each. At the end of the morning you get to... More

Dear Khun Rachel B, We're very pleased to hear that you had a great time at the Blue Elephant Cooking School Bangkok. We try to make the class as fun and approachable as possible, from our very first welcome to introduction of Thai ingredients in the market, to the cooking of the authentic Thai dishes. There are many dimensions to... More

We enjoyed a private class for two and made four dishes (see photos). Excellent chef (Chay) and good equipment. It's all about aroma people. Then we ate our dishes at the restaurant tables downstairs. Get involved. We will save thousands not ordering take away!

Over a period of 5 hours the chef takes you via BTS skytrain to the next station. You go shopping for fresh ingredients while getting instructions on their use. For example, you learn how to make green, or red curry. Back at the school a chef instructs you on how to make 4 or 5 different Thai dishes. After being... More

My friend and I attended a half day course here while our husbands were working in Bangkok. Our hotel ran a reputable course but we wanted to leave the hotel. We inadvertently hit upon this probably the most revered Thai cooking school It was wonderful from the visit to the market on the sky train to the calire of our... More

Today I attended 2Half Day Classes in Blue Elefant Cooking School. The cooking school is located next to BTS Station Surasak. We were welcomed very friendly, visited a local fresh marked. Our very friendly Chef, Mr Nice, answered all our questions passionately. I highly recommend this cooking school in Bangkok and I want to thank our great teacher, Mr. Nice... More

I took the professional chef cooking course 2 weeks ago and it was such an amazing experience. My instructor was Chef Nam, and she taught me everything that she could about Thai food. She went over and beyond what i asked for and had a genuine desire to teach me more. I learned more than 50 thai dishes, all of... More

I cannot praise The Blue Elephant Cooking School enough for their fantastic cooking class! The staff were very knowledgeable and so happy to answer any and all questions from the group. Our Chef, Nice, was an excellent tour guide throughout the market trip and went to great efforts to make sure everyone was comfortable and happy on the excursion. The... More

Set in what was an old Indian department store this restaurant is a gem. Food and service is outstanding in a lovely ambience. Our guide told us to order food 'cooked the Thai way' and it did not disappoint. Booking is essential, a little pricey but worth it.

Staying in Sathorn

Neighborhood Profile
Sathorn
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
