We just completed our Morning Cooking Class at the Blue Elephant Cooking School in Bangkok. I must say this was the MOST AMAZING EXPERIANCE. We have traveled all over the world and the people of Thailand have been so kind and welcoming. Chef Nooror and her Daughter Chef Sandra are so kind and have created such a beautiful experience. I... I will start this review by stating that we've been to many cooking schools around the world so admittedly we have high standards and expectations. The pluses of Blue Elephant: Easy to get to location by BRT (city Train) Friendly Staff (especially Chef Nun) Facilities are pretty good Building itself is historic and nice to see Some tips: Take water... The food and restaurant are lovely but you will pay for it. We were tired after a long day in Bangkok and thought we would treat ourselves to good food with the ease of being located next to our hotel. The only downside is the price. For Thailand standards this is spendy. We found some of our best meals to... More

This is the second cooking school I attended in Bangkok. Conveniently located, next to BatS station. We spent an hour including by BTS back and forth to the school and visited the market and ate. Yes, more than 15 minutes in food stand. Four dishes were taught but all cooking practices were in a rush. No enjoyment. Some students were... More

Purchased a morning cooking class for my wife while visiting Bangkok. Excellent student to teacher ratio of 4:1. Well appointed teaching kitchen & knowledgeable instructor. Location is readily accessible from the BTS. While I am sure that dining at the Blue Elephant can be expensive the cooking lesson was reasonable priced and good value for the money. Only disappointing aspect... More

Me and my parents were very interested in doing a Thai cooking course on our vacation in Bangkok, and after a lot of research on my part we decided on the Blue Elephant. We had an amazing time, the course was very elaborate. There was a trip to the market with one of the cooks (nick)named Smile, where we got... More

My boyfriend and I did a morning, half-day cooking class at the Blue Elephant. It ended up being us and one other student, so it was basically private! We started the day with a visit to the market to learn about the foods, how to pick fresh ingredients, and learn about the culture of shopping at the market. We loved... More

Friends suggested this place for my husband to attend 1/2 day class. We booked at the last minute and it was a great experience. I was able to attend as a guest to have lunch with the students and this was all inclusive in the price we paid for the class. You must ask when you book if you like... More

Staying in Sathorn

Neighborhood Profile
Sathorn is Bangkok’s central business district, but here you’ll find much more than international banks and suited-up office workers. Take a stroll along the small alleys between the skyscrapers and you’ll find yourself among Bangkokians living life at a much slower pace. Feast on fantastic Thai food which you can find in the town-house restaurants, office food courts and sidewalk food stalls spread all over the area, especially around St. Louis Hospital. A visit to Sathorn is not complete without a drink at one of the glitzy sky bars perched atop its skyscrapers.
