We felt like we had been transported to a wonderful world of aromas, tastes and Chef Noroor’s stories - while at the same time feeling very much at home. She and all the staff at Blue Elephant were warm and welcoming and generous. They did a special vegetarian menu for us - gorgeous flower-shaped truffle dumplings, southern curry and lotus-wrapped rice, plus a bonus lesson in making a Thai iced tea. Our girls (aged 10 and 7) loved every moment too. We ended by enjoying our own cooking in the beautiful restaurant. One of the most memorable experiences of our time in Thailand - will try to do another course online!

Sawasdee, We would like to thank you so much for sharing your cooking class experience you had at the Blue Elephant Sathorn (BTS Surasak) . Your comments are much indeed valued. We are thrilled to hear that you and your family enjoyed our cooking class.I will pass on your compliments to our staff members to acknowledge their commitments. Chef Nooror she is assisted by a passionate team, all organized in a quality environment as you will find in our cooking schools. Our chefs teach in different languages. English, French, Chinese, Thai,... The program is different every day, so some of our students enroll in several classes to learn more about Thai cuisine and perfect their techniques. Thank you for coming with your children. It’s very nice idea. We hope to see you all again. .

I'm so glad I took this cooking class. Paul was our chef and absolutely phenomenal. We started off by going to some local markets where we learned about local produce. We also went to a local coffee/tea stand and tried authentic Thai coffee or tea. Before heading back to the cooking school, we went to a curry market and learned how they make curry from scratch. The cooking class itself was really fun. Paul cooked each recipe for us before we each made the food. We all got to try his version of everything and it all tasted phenomenal. After we'd cooked everything, the four of us who took the class together sat in a secluded area of the dining room and ate our food. I had so much fun chatting with the other students and eating incredible food that I made. I loved this cooking class and would absolutely take another one if I return to Bangkok.

We are glad we took the course while staying in Bangkok. Super friendly staff, top notch equipement and easy cooking even without any cooking experience. We prepared five tasty dishes (Curry, Fish, soup, noodles and Dessert) and ate it after class in the wonderful decorated and very traditional restaurant. Highly recommended!!

Dear Babette, thank you for choosing us. Our Chefs adapt to all levels of knowledge of Thai cuisine. Chef Nooror's training is also attended by renowned chefs from around the world. Whatever the experience of each, our chefs want to teach the best. Our goal is that you can make our recipes at home. According to the wishes of our students, classes are offered in several languages including Thai, English, Chinese, French, Dutch etc. (please specify when booking). Now you know the way. The cooking school of the Blue Elephant occupies an entire floor of our century-old building located just in front of the Surasak BTS Station. The program is different every day. You are always welcome.

Did this class recently and was not satisfied very much in respect of my expectations. If you look for a better cooking school that go to “the market experience” from expique, costs less, done with locals and more of a real teaching. Here my + and - points: + friendly staff and good food you get to cook + if you look for a beginner course this is a good place to start + market visit was ok, but did better ones - was more a tourist entertainment show that an actual cooking class - they would show you the recipes before you get to cook them yourself - but they just show you as a tutorial on youtube would do - no attention to detail, not what really matters and why - the recipes they give you are just short descriptions and even different from what they would show you (in the end it seems that they don’t matter if you put first the chicken in vs. the potato) - BIG negative: I got stuck with a 10 people retirement tour group that were not passionate about cooking at all, they just got offered that tour by their hotel, so when I go to a “royal thai cuisine cooking school” I expect the people that go there to be like-minded about cooking, otherwise put together different groups (eg. beginner/discover, intermediate, advanced)

Dear Susanne, we are very concerned by your message, which departs from most of the feedback we get on TripAdvisor. Our goal is to let students take part in a real cuisine workshop. And most do—whether they themselves are chefs at another restaurant in Thailand or elsewhere in the world—alongside our clients who want to partake in our culinary expertise. We checked with our Cooking School chefs and learned that there was some miscommunication on the day you came. In both cases, the school’s Chef designs the course according to the guests needs. This situation is however quite atypical and clearly did not meet your expectations We are not certain why our Chef did not understand this in your case and are very sorry. We would be very pleased to see you again and offer you a new Blue Elephant cooking class in Bangkok or Phuket. Please make an appointment for your free class, referring to this message by writing to Cooking.school@blueelephant.com

My husband and I had a free day and decided to try this cooking school. We were thrilled with our experience! A chef started our morning with a personal walking tour through the local food market, explaining various ingredients used in Thai cuisine. Then, back upstairs at the beautiful restaurant, a chef taught us how to prepare a dish, shared a tasting of it, and then gave us time in the kitchen to actually make our own...repeated for four Blue Elephant recipes. Once our final dish was completed, we were escorted to the main dining room where the wait staff served us each our own preparations for lunch. (My husband does not generally cook and he loved this experience.) It was a wonderful opportunity that we would both gladly do again! Delicious!

We are happy to learn of the birth of a new Chef: Your Husband ! Forgive me for appearing pretentious, (haha) but we all do our very best so that every moment at the Blue Elephant is a "Morning well spent!". The cooking school of Blue Elephant is just opposite the BTS Surasak station and occupies a whole floor of our building that is more than a century old. A large space that allows everyone to comfortably take the theoretical classes and then easily move to practice with the Chef in the specially equipped kitchen. The cooking school and the restaurant are open 7 days a week. For each course 4 to 5 recipes and dishes are prepared. The program is different every day, so some of our students sign up for several classes in order to learn more about Thai cuisine and perfect their techniques. At the end of the course you will receive a selection of Blue Elephant products including our curry paste, your certificate, a kitchen apron, and a Blue Elephant bag, a set of our products and the recipes of our Master Chef Nooror for new experiences in your own kitchen. Our staff is very attentive to guide you during the whole course, we know you very much like Thai cuisine !
