The area
Neighborhood: Ari
Home to at least a dozen hip coffee shops, sophisticated boutiques and some seriously fine restaurants, Ari is the newest epicentre of Bangkok cool. Fleeing from the skyrocketing rents in Thonglor and Ekamai, many young urbanites made Ari their new home. This mostly residential neighbourhood outside the city centre isn't much of a trendy area on first sight, but if you scratch the surface of government buildings and noodle shops, you'll find out that there's loads of hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Bring a local friend or do your research on beforehand to avoid missing out on all the fun.

Awesome Cooking Class!
Apr 2016 • Solo
This was one of the most fun things I did in BK. Your host Pon is a very cool and charismatic host who has a great sense of humor, makes you feel very welcome and runs the class out of her guesthouse. It begins with a trip to a local market via a tuk tuk where you buy all the ingredients and then return to begin making chili paste, and we went on to make five or six more dishes - pad Thai, curries, spring rolls, dessert etc, all of which you get to eat - so much yummy food!! We also got to make different Thai dishes and serve actual paying customers for half an hour which was really enjoyable and added to the experience. It is not as well advertised as the other schools, and not conducted in indoor air con comfort like other places but rather in her open air restaurant which I think is better and makes it feel all the more authentic. I would highly recommend this tour if you want a very casual and relaxed cooking experience and want to have lots of fun..

Best Thai Cooking Class
The cooking class was great, we prepared a lot of Thai dishes, and Chef P.Pon was very gentle and professional.
Recommended if you want something more private and personalised than a big cooking school.

Thai Cooking Experience
Aug 2014 • Family
What an amazing day. We did the full day course and got to make over a dozen Thai dishes. What made it so great was the fantastic family/staff that ran it. Highly recommend this for your hit list in Bangkok. One of the staff is a 66 year old lady boy and in the middle of our cooking a song was put on and she performed her dance for us and then the family and us were up with her. Amazing. Also the cooking groups are kept really small which is good too. All ingredients are included in the price and you get to eat everything you cook. The full day is only 4-5 hours, definitely worth your while to do the full day!
