Love to chill on the grass
Jan 2021
We go here for romantic times to lay out on the grass under a tree. They have lovely peace and quiet among lovely trees and birds. It is a very pretty and well look after park.

Rama IX Park never gets old
Mar 2021
We have lived near the park for over 10 years, we go there almost weekly and still find new and interesting things to see and do.

Great place to Jog
Feb 2021
One of the largest parks in Bangkok, which is great, and a vintage weights area, but the air quality of Bangkok is depressing. Why can't anyone do anything to fix it? What about inviting in experts from Singapore?

Lovely gardens to escape city smells and noise
Dec 2019
A visit here was just what we needed after our first three days in Bangkok. It was lovely, quiet, peaceful and we had a wonderful walk around and lots of photo ops. The only thing we didn't care for was the cheesy music being played over loudspeakers- music that had been composed by Rama IX apparently. Also felt a little eerie to hear someone talking over the loudspeakers.

One Of The Best Parks I Had Never Bothered To Visit In All The Years I’ve Lived Here!
Dec 2019
Only by the good graces of the great and incredible cool weather we had been having in the last few weeks, did I actually and suddenly get the great idea to finally visit this park.

So I went and it was really one of the most impressive and best parks I’ve probably ever visited in the region where I live! On top of that, not only an awesome park, but there’s also only a 10 Baht entry fee per person that is paid at the main gates and then you’ll get an entry ticket. I’m not 100% sure of the opening and close times of this park, but the best time to go would be the morning and late afternoon (which is when I went all the times).

Also, you can obviously drive a car or ride your own motorbike to this park, but not sure of how much parking is.

This park is absolutely huge and has many many flower beds trees, pathways (all paved), a big pavilion which wasn’t open when I was there and running areas. In addition, there are also giant hedges, small enclosed gardens, topiary trees landscaped with flowers, a swamp, and these special walkthroughs that are covered in giant vegetables, and these walkthroughs actually have a number of huge gourds hanging from them and it looks so cool!

The park naturally also has a lot of trees which lots of people would set up mats or blankets and have a picnic and just enjoy the outdoors.

There were actually a lot of food vendors there too. However, I was told there were more than normal only because there was a special flower show going on during the times I visited. I guess there would usually not be that many food vendors for that matter if there isn’t an event going on, but nonetheless, you could still buy drinks and food from within the park.

Also, as kind of main feature of something you can do within this park, there is a big lake and you can pay to go on these swan paddle boats and paddle out on the lake for awhile!

I’m not sure of the cost nor how long one can ride the paddle boats for, but it was an activity that I saw a lot of people taking part in, and to which there were actually long lines for people who were waiting to ride them.

In conclusion, this is a really extravagant park and one that, if you’re in the area, please have a check out. It’s a super impressive and great park to enjoy on a holiday or just on a day off from work!

Favorite park in Bangkok so far...
Dec 2019
I went there during the Flower Festival and it's a feast for the senses. It has beautiful landscapes, lush vegetation, and surprising wildlife.
The flower festival is from December 1-10 though I think it's still lovely without the added ornaments for the fair.
Great for strolls, picnics, and reflection. Many parts are crowded but you can still find a corner to enjoy nature's serenity.

Best in town
Dec 2019
King Rama 1X is a stunning 500 Rai park. There are many features and splendid trees and flowers. There is a large lake and many woodland walks plus a very natural looking swamp area. This is a must-visit, there is a 10THB entrance fee for people plus a car charge for parking. My last visit was on Fathers Day Dec 6th. the park was crowded, there were lots of food stalls and a very large plant market.

Beautiful, Vast, and Crowded
Dec 2019 • Couples
The flowers were spectacular, and a wonder of contrast in plantings. Green space, and walks were enjoyable, but the popularity shows, as maintinence has not kept up since opening in 1987. Shabby around the edges, and although new exibits and features like the Medicinal garden were clean and well presented, the very small "Orchid & fern" garden was in bad shape.
