Expensive, but scenic place to rest
Sep 2019 • Couples
An expensive place for a meal or a tea, but it is a scenic place to rest after a visit to the museum.

Sweet.
Jun 2019 • Friends
Set above the main shop is this delight cafe with many sweet surprises. The Blueberry Cheesecake and the Lemon Meringue were very tasty after a visit to the museum and grounds.

Lovely place to while away the afternoon
Mar 2018 • Solo
This cafe is located within the compound of the Jim Thompson House museum, alongside a Klong and facing a small pond filled with carp. I have eaten here in the past, but on this visit, opted simply for a cool drink. The coconut and ginger smoothie was just wonderful (I'd sampled an equally delicious lychee and mint smoothie at their cafe in the Jim Thompson factory outlet that morning). A great way to while away a hot afternoon.

Beautiful setting, but staff seem overwhelmed
Feb 2016
We were visiting the house and booked a table for lunch. It is very busy, so make sure you book.
We were shown to our table, which had to be cleared after the previous diners. It would have been preferable if this had been done beforehand.
That said, our salads were beautifully-presented, with a taste that matched the appearance. Bliss.
Service was polite, if a little slow, but in defence of the staff, I think they found the continuous stream of diners a bit exhausting, and some diners were rather impatient, which never helps.

Had cakes and coffee at Jim Thompson Cafe
May 2016 • Family
Had coconut café and café Thai style (coffee and condensed milk) and my dad had a piece of coffee cake and fresh coconut (coco water). It was quite expensive but the food was good.

Finish off the morning with a nice Thai lunch

Had a lovely lunch here - it does get very busy and they do provide good service but you may have to be patient. the food was good and was a nice ending to the tour.

Lunch or evening dining.
Jan 2016 • Family
A good traditional Thai menu ( with subtitles! ), and let them know if you don't want the full chilli hit. The long cold drinks on offer are wonderful and welcome. We found the staff helpful and polite. If you choose to sit outside be aware the sun will move around and you may want to change tables, otherwise enjoy the fish in the lily pond as you eat.

Overpriced, average food and appalling service
Dec 2015
This restaurant caters purely for tourists who are a relatively captive audience. Am sure it banks on people not returning as it appeared to not care about the quality of the food or the service. Our meal was delivered in parts with long spaces between. We had to ask multiple times for our bill. Looking round the restaurant others had the same problem. Avoid this place. Much much better food - and much more reasonably priced elsewhere

Really welcoming staff in the house and in the restaurant
Nov 2015 • Couples
A really pleasant lunch - and anywhere that can do a full lunch or just a great sandwich and coffee without a shrug is to be valued.

The guide to our trip around the house was perfect. A really fine day.

Refresh before you move on.
Oct 2015 • Couples
The cage is adjacent to the Jim Thompson House Museum, perfect to refresh in your way out. They sell 'Jim Thompson' tea in a choice of English, Japanese or Chinese varieties. Very pleasant.
