Nice cafe by the pond after visiting Jim Thompson House. It's definitely pricey but with nice ambience and why not avoid the heat for a few moment?
Ordered shrimp fried rice and ice americano. Tasted good, standard meal.

An expensive place for a meal or a tea, but it is a scenic place to rest after a visit to the museum.

This cafe is located within the compound of the Jim Thompson House museum, alongside a Klong and facing a small pond filled with carp. I have eaten here in the past, but on this visit, opted simply for a cool drink. The coconut and ginger smoothie was just wonderful (I'd sampled an equally delicious lychee and mint smoothie at their cafe in the Jim Thompson factory outlet that morning). A great way to while away a hot afternoon.

A good traditional Thai menu ( with subtitles! ), and let them know if you don't want the full chilli hit. The long cold drinks on offer are wonderful and welcome. We found the staff helpful and polite. If you choose to sit outside be aware the sun will move around and you may want to change tables, otherwise enjoy the fish in the lily pond as you eat.

Almost all the restaurants I've visited in Bangkok were more famous than this one, but Jim Thompson Cafe was the best for me.

That's because thai food was either too strong or too salty for me all the times (even when I asked them to please put less salt). Here the food is more to a foreigner's taste, I'd say. All the dishes we tried here were mild and delicous.

Plus the price was good, too. The next time I visit Bangkok, I will visit this place once every day. (or every other day!)

This was a lovely find. The house was such a great place to visit, very peaceful and a guided tour which was useful for additional information. We so enjoyed the visit that we decided to come back for dinner, we were staying very close by which probably swayed us too.
The food was delicious although the starters were better than the mains. The room was a little on the cool side from the air con, but ok. Service was very good and they had a traditional Thai dancer for a few minutes.
I would recommend this restaurant for a treat dinner, away from the hustle and bustle of busy Bangkok. It's the sort of place I expect you would host business colleagues. Beautifully furnished and very calm.

There are far better places to eat in Bangkok than at this place. I've eaten here three times and each time it has been the same. The food is definitely over priced for what you get and is sub par to other Bangkok Restaurants where you can eat for 1/4 of the price. The drinks are okay and the service staff are absolutely terrible! The staff run around as if they are busy but don't look at anyone in the face or even pay attention to tables that they took the order from. I tried I definitely don't need to go back to this place again.

We have been to this restaurant many times but tonight was the last time.
Green Curry Chicken - really not much chicken and no taste. Tourist trap?

Yum So Oh - Pomelo Salad - worst ever!!

A very small draught beer THB 120!!!!
(I got two for this price)

I can not recommend this place any more.

Can't say that we were impressed with the Jim Thompson cafe, Saladaeng at all. The pad thai was very ordinary and the crab meat cake was awful - overspiced with cumin - totally wrong seasoning for a delicate crab dish. It is just another one of those restaurants that targets the farang and tourist markets. Relative to other places, it is also rather expensive for what you get.
Not recommended for the discerning diner - OK if you are new to Thailand and Thai food.

Set above the main shop is this delight cafe with many sweet surprises. The Blueberry Cheesecake and the Lemon Meringue were very tasty after a visit to the museum and grounds.
