We went here on a Tuesday night and were told to expect the same as Bangla Rd Phuket. We were pleasantly surprised and it is very clean and respectable. Would definitely take kids here over Bangla Rd any day. Sure there are some hustlers trying...More

We went here three nights during our visit. There are loads of bars and restaurants plus plenty of street carts with food and drinks. It’s not anywhere near as sleazy as other streets such as Soi Cowboy or Nana and there is a safe and...More

Great fun and plenty of bars and clubs to check out. Naturally a lot of ladies on the street but firm and honest is the best way to deal with the unwanted attention.

Khao San Road is a common base for backpackers in Bangkok. Even walking in daytime gives one a sense of chaos. Every thing from restaurants to street vendors target tourists. Not necessarily a good place to experience Thailand.

When we stay at one of the hotel at Khao San Road, we enjoy the night market, cafe and you must try the street food here... We also found one of the best money changer in Bangkok at Khao San Road.

I have a love /hate relationship with Khaosan Road. Love: Cheap shopping, cheap hotels, good and inexpensive street food. Hate: Eurotrash, drunks, rip off artists and the loud, techno music that you can hear from miles away. NEVER hire a tuktuk here, or go in...More

It's billed as traveller heaven, which suggests that all travellers want to get wasted on cheap drink and soft drugs. There's plenty of that here, but it's also quite possible to step off the main drag and find quieter places. Don't see it as just...More

Probably the most famous street in Bangkok. I've read a lot about street food there and it is true, it is very tasty and considerably cheap. At night there are lots of bars and discos open, it is quite crowdy and loud. We are not...More

While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok,
it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn
the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and
most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to
this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off
their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most
spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to
Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around

Hi f0urmile, maybe as a family and wanting good views and a pool you should consider 3/4*+ hotels. To pick "an area" is quite difficult, Bangkok is truly vast(not an exaggeration it's massive as far as the eye can see) and... More
