They offer cheaper price (almost 40% discount) if you buy in wholesale. Bargaining for good price is a must. Try to compare prices in separate stores, some other stores offer cheaper price. Don't stuck in one store if you haven't known store with good price. Most of the sellers can't speak English fluently, so calculator is really helpful to state... More

Very hot and crowded. Must be able to take the heat and walking in the maze to hunt for goodies. There are lots of streets food around when you are hungry and thirsty.

Everytime I go to Bangkok, I go to Chaktuchak for the weekend hang out. It's better to take MRT to MRT Khapangphet to go to Chaktuchak than taking BTS to BTS Mochit.

If you are in Bangkok for the weekend, put on your war-paint and get to shopping. This market is huge and even though a lot of stores are similar, they all have their individual touch. Definitely a place to visit. FYI, this is very overwhelming and not a place for people that do not like large crowds.

Plenty of shops to get your day rolling. Be prepare to walk and explore around as it is quite a big area. Some shop owners don't speak good English but they can understand what we want. Try to bargain and watch out for the cars and vehicles along the bumpy road. It can get very crowded during the afternoon but... More

Just the same old stuff you can find on the streets of Siam. It is out the way and just like any other asian market.

The weekend markets at Chatuckak are a must do when you visit Bangkok. The prices are cheap compared to the major shopping centres in Bangkok. And the vendors are always willing to barter. It has a great atmosphere and some quirky little restaurants/cafes. Go early to avoid the heat and you'll have a great time.

Neighborhood Profile
Chatuchak
Every weekend, thousands of tourists make their way up to this Northern Bangkok suburb to get lost in an enormous maze of shops at the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Home to almost 10,000 vendors, you’ll find everything from vintage sneakers to comic books and Thai handicrafts being sold here. You name it, Chatuchack probably sells it. The market is a great place to pick up souvenirs, but be sure to bargain for a good price. After a day of shopping and strolling around, the lush green lanes of Chatuchak Park are a welcome relief.
