About
This is one of the most popular shopping art complex that locate right at the HEART of Bangkok. Highly recognise as Art Shopping and a place to Shopping, recommended items are such as clothing by Thai Fashion Designer, shoes, handbags, Unique fashion accessories, jewelry and Thai souvenirs. Siam Center started operations in 1973 as Thailand's first shopping center of international standards. It marked the birth of Bangkok's booming retail business and has maintained its position as the city's fashion trendsetter up until today. After a major renovation, Siam Center reopened at the beginning of 2013 with a revolutionary retail development concept of "Ideaopolis". The shopping center serves as an arena of limitless imagination and creativity where art, fashion, technology and lifestyle converge. It aims to place Bangkok among the ranks of the world's top retail environments. Siam Center has also changed the face of Thailand's retail business with its unique "Absolute Siam" concept. For the first time in retail history, brand owners and retailers have joined forces to create new store designs for the shopping center that are distinct from any other branch. Moreover, 20% of the stores' offerings are unique to and only available at Siam Center. This is to create "the Most Powerful Retail Phenomenon", an unexpected and inspiring one-of-a-kind shopping experience for both Thai and foreign visitors.

Well it is a good place for cool down for a while in Bangkok's trafic and air pollution. So much Asian shops inside that is why worth to explore. Outside of these malls, there are open-air local markets, I would recommend to go there and buy clothes because you can bargain and may find interesting things.

The shopping mall is located near the Siam BTS station. There is a large plaza with a dancing fountain in front of the entrance. The plaza is also used for performances and events. Inside, the multi-story mall has a modern but slightly dark decor. Inside is the usual mix of fashion stores and kiosks. The mall also has a food court. It is a great place to shop if you are looking for upmarket fashion brands.

Siam Center is aone of Bangkok's first shopping malls. It has undergone renovation several times. Still very popular with locals and tourists. Very good food court with value for money. Good deals on shopping also.

Siam centre is a decent place to stop for a visit as it adjoins many malls. I like th their gadgets floor although prices are higher than home. But one gets the chance to test and play up close. A fair number of restaurants and a food court but nothing worthy of mention.

Siam is a mecca of interconnected shopping malls. Being from Hong Kong, I'm not really in Bangkok for designer brands (Paragon) or cheap knockoffs (MBK). Siam Discover is a bit nondescript for my taste except for maybe a few shops such as Propaganda and Loft.
To me, Siam Center is the most interesting mall of them all. It's not big like MBK or "grand" like Paragon but it's got funky, monochrome, pop-art-ish decor. The fact that this mall has a mascot kinda tells you that it means business. He's called Mr. P, designed by Chaiyut Plypetch, design director at the famous Propaganda brand. Siam Center houses quirky local brands and neat curated stores. You'll discover brands that you've never heard of. The more well known international brands are on the lower floors too if you need those (e.g. the Adidas Originals store is pretty good).
The top floor has plenty of restaurants (Japanese, Korean, Western) and a Food Republic (food court). People from HK, SG and Taiwan should be quite familiar with it. The food choices are decent and prices reasonable. They use a card system here too so you first need to go to the cashier to get a card and top it up (any unused amount will be refunded). Unlike other shopping mall food courts (Paragon, Terminal 21), this one is popular but it doesn't get crazy busy or claustrophobic, partly thanks to its glass roof (like a giant sunroom).

I reaaly like Siam Square area in Bangkok since it is very modern and nice . It is ideal for the traveller who wants to go shopping at huge shopping malls with air condition rather than local markets with cheap unrecognizeable food and clothes you can't wear. In Siam Square you can walk everywhere so no need for taxis. You can stay at one of the excelllent hotels Pathumwan Princess or Novotel, and you are right in the centre of eveything. Near Novotel you will find many places for foot massage, which is a real threat. There are lots of eating places inside the malls, and you will also find Starbucks, Baskins and Robbins Ice cream etc. But there are not that many restaurants in this area, we found one great one though, very near the Hardrock Cafe and Hilton. But it will only take you ten or fifteen minutes with cab down to the Chao Phraya River if you prefer to have dinner at the Oriental or the Shangri-La.

Bonjour,
