I tried to book the 19.30 aircon sleeper train but it was full so I opted for the 15.30 fan sleeper. Well... It certainly was an experience. This was the oldest loudest train I have ever been on (this includes traveling in China in the...More

Straightforward journey but arrived in Bangkok 2 hours later than stated, despite leaving Chiang Mai on time. Comfortable but very warm without the AC. I'll definitely pay the little extra next time for that. There was plenty of space for myself and my 2 big...More

Delay is often. No need to worry if your train does not arrive on time. It is common. All the announcements are delivered in thai only so ask local people for translation. 3rd coach is cheap on the other hand it is extremely dirty.

We traveled 1st class overnight and I'd read some reviews so I knew what to expect. We avoided the high prices orange juice and ate our evening meal before we set off. We had their breakfasts and we're pleasantly surprised after some of the reviews....More

Hilarious and highly enjoyable. Took 13 and a half hours as we got stuck trying to get up a mountain and had to wait for a tow from another train. Wheels were spinning sparks were flying and actually ended up going backwards down the hill...scary,...More

Hi ... yup, you can book the train 60 days before travel and you need to do it then or it will be sold out! The First Class Sleeper is worth paying for as you get a little compartment for two people. On the older trains... More
