Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

I was sorry to read that William did not enjoy Tina Bar, but I can understand it. The economy has affected many places, but Tina more than most. On many nights, Tina is next to empty. Bars right on Soi 22 get more traffic, but even they have slowed down as has nearby Queen's Park Plaza.

My friend and I had heard about the Tina Bar so we decided over breakfast to visit that day. We arrived there at midday and I must say, from the minute we arrived, we were greeted by lovely friendly ladies.
Unlike some bars we had visited in BKK, the Tina Bar had a great feel about it. Its very laid back and they don't push you to buy drinks etc. Certainly a nice change to be able to sit and speak to a lovely lady, without having to buy drinks for the whole bar every 5 minutes,
Although it is only a bar, my friend Alan and I said only yesterday that one of the highlights of our trip was to find the Tina Bar and how much we look forward to returning on our next trip.

I had heard about this bar from several friends who frequently travel to Thailand. This place has developed quite a history over the years as one of the best kept secrets in Bangkok. It can be a little difficult to find, but it is well worth the effort. It is located on Sukhumvit Soi 22, very close to the new Holiday Inn. If you turn onto Soi 22 from Sukhumvit Road, go down about 100 meters, just past the end of the Holiday Inn, and there will be a small cul-de-sac on the right hand side. That is the Honey House enclave. Tucked into the far back corner is Tina Bar. From the minute I walked in, I was made to feel very welcome by the girls on the staff. The drinks are cold, and the entertainment was hot! I took several of my friends there the next night, and they all had a great time too. I can't wait to get back there again soon!

Actually, I am a little hesitant to give Tina Bar a good review. One of the things I like best about Tina Bar is it's relaxed atmosphere, and I would hate to see that spoiled by an influx of loud farang wearing Bermuda shorts and a Hawaiian shirt.
Tina Bar is far enough back from Soi 22 that you might not notice the sign if you were not looking for it. The young ladies who would like you to buy them a beer are almost entirely from Isaan and speak rudimentary English at best. Unlike many bars targeting the tourist market, however, there is no hustle here. If you want some company it's here, if you would rather enjoy a drink and just listen to the music, that's fine too.

I read the reviews on here and was expecting to find a hidden gem, what we found was a run down and empty bar with all the atmosphere of a morgue.This Soi has many , many better bars.

They charge you 3 times your number of drinks for ridiculous prices. They rip you of as much as you let them.
