The area
Address
Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.
How to get there

I tend to think that like hairdressers, tailors, and plumbers, once you find a good masseuse hold on to them for dear life and keep giving them repeat business. Sue at Aura Spa is a superb masseuse, expert in what she does, extremely friendly and kind. After a couple of hours (and you should always take a minimum of 90 mins) you will leave feeling renewed and reinvigorated.

Contrary to popular belief, Thailand is not full of good masseurs. In fact, it would be more accurate to say it's full of masseurs who have received no formal training and can stretch muscles to a dangerous degree. No such issues here at Aura, where the staff are well trained and professional.

The atmosphere is calm, tranquil and private. This is a spa, not a shophouse, so you are not bothered by the staff chatting away to one another, which is something I find infuriating. All in all, full marks to Aura from a regular customer.
