Visited this market on a tour ( A Chefs Tour - with Hing & Fon) and it was great to see this market dating back to the 19th century.
We tried many different dishes from several hawker stands and all the dishes were fantastic .
We ate so much that by the end we could not squeeze in any more.
Can't get more authentic than this
Make a plan and get there !!, we came via Saen Saeb boat from Platinum mall and got off at Bobae market and then via bus close to the market ( maybe 2 km)
ENJOY

We wanted to go to a market that was not as crowded and where locals go to eat! We found this place to be exactly what we were looking for!
We went in the morning and some stalls were almost open. We browsed around and watched ingredients being chopped for dishes to be sold. We watched dim sum and steamed buns being prepared. Spices formed, Bbq meats chopped and fresh fruit/veggies laid out. The market is known for its deserts. We found a curry stand that serves one of the best curries in town!
I think we tried 6-8 different dishes and they were delicious. We had fresh fruit smoothies and freshly brewed coffee! We enjoyed every single dish/food we tried.
Nang Loeng Market is located between Soi 8-10, Th Nakhon Sawan. We took the ferry to Thewet Pier and walked a few blocks to Soi 9. The market is open from 10am-2pm Mon-Fri

We came here after reading a recent article from Travel and Leisure magazine about this market. The market is smaller than what I expected, and mostly food vendors. Lots of food options and price is very reasonable. Lots of local were here during lunch time. Good to check it out if you are around the neighbourhood.

Nang Loeng is one of the few remaining traditional communities from the Rattanakosin era. Since it is outside the usual tourist paths, quite difficult to find. Best is to take MRT to Hua Lamphong and then use the newly established boat line. The market caters to the local community living in the neighbourhood. There is a small restaurant called Rattana Curry. At lunch tie you will see long queues of locals lining up there; in my opinion the best Curry in Bangkok.

A hidden gem! Full of authentic Thai food. It is open in the mornings from 10 to 1 pm.
You can get there by MRT and river taxi which is free. A short walk to the pier from the MRT station

Not one of the better known markets and taxi drivers will be utterly confused and have no idea how to get you there. It would be advised for you to have a map with the location. That being said, this is a bit of the tourist radar and a more authentic experience.
This is a superb market for food. It's great for lunch, but come hungry so you can try a bunch of different foods. You can also pick up a lot of fruit and packaged foods to bring home with you here.

Place to shop wholesale
A lot of shops and cheap price. Good for bulk buyers. A bit hard to find taxi to go back. Toktok increasing the price.

This market is certainly typical for this country, serving the local neighborhood. On the small side, and mostly just for prepared food, but worth a visit if you are nearby or have lots of time. There are toilets, not bad, but not like the ones in your hotel. The place is really buzzing at lunch time. Many food sellers in the center and one curry restaurant in the corner. Nearly all local people, but the vendors are friendly and helpful. Come hungry and enjoy your meal. Be sure to wander the narrow alleys surrounding the market too, for more food options and good people watching.
