A Chefs Tour Nang Loeng -WOW
Dec 2019 • Family
Visited this market on a tour ( A Chefs Tour - with Hing & Fon) and it was great to see this market dating back to the 19th century.

We tried many different dishes from several hawker stands and all the dishes were fantastic .

We ate so much that by the end we could not squeeze in any more.

Can't get more authentic than this

Make a plan and get there !!, we came via Saen Saeb boat from Platinum mall and got off at Bobae market and then via bus close to the market ( maybe 2 km)

ENJOY

Small but Authentic Market
Dec 2019 • Solo
This market is certainly typical for this country, serving the local neighborhood. On the small side, and mostly just for prepared food, but worth a visit if you are nearby or have lots of time. There are toilets, not bad, but not like the ones in your hotel. The place is really buzzing at lunch time. Many food sellers in the center and one curry restaurant in the corner. Nearly all local people, but the vendors are friendly and helpful. Come hungry and enjoy your meal. Be sure to wander the narrow alleys surrounding the market too, for more food options and good people watching.

Good local food market
Nov 2019 • Couples
We came here after reading a recent article from Travel and Leisure magazine about this market. The market is smaller than what I expected, and mostly food vendors. Lots of food options and price is very reasonable. Lots of local were here during lunch time. Good to check it out if you are around the neighbourhood.

Full of locals
May 2019 • Couples
Great little market that we stumbled upon accidentally, but glad that we did. It was full of local people, which is always a good sign, and quite busy. We tried a couple of different dishes from different stalls, everything packed with flavour. Also cheap and cheerful!

Great Local Thai Market with Reasonable Prices
Jan 2018 • Couples
We only arrived at the market at about 2:45 and they close at 3pm. The Pad Thai stall we went to was more than happy to make us up a couple of dishes really quick before packing up for the day. My husband had this delicious egg pancake thing with a vinegar based sauce to pour over top. It was the perfect balance of sweet and sour and there wasn't a morcel leftover when we were done eating. The place was pretty much a ghost town by the time we got there for our late lunch, but it must be busier earlier on as people were cleaning up and washing dishes for quite awhile as we were eating and people watching. There is only food at this market; no other shopping at this one.

Plenty of food on show
Feb 2018 • Couples
This seemed a large market with lots of vendors selling ready to eat food. We had some sweets, deep fried banana and pork on a skewer. There are plenty of vendors getting ready for the workers in teh local area to come for their lunch.

Local Thai Food Place
Nov 2017 • Solo
Its a small thai food market where local people and office workers go for lunch. Friendly place, no tourists (except me) when I was there. I had a nice lunch and a chat with a Thai woman there who was sitting next to me at the tables in the middle of the market. I recommend to take a walk in the quiet surrounding streets, which give an idea of the old Bangkok with small wooden houses and people working and chatting in the street.
Overall nice atmosphere but probably not worth the hazzle getting there. It took me 1.5 hours with the bus from Ekamai through the heavy traffic.
Take bus no 2 (or 511, or 79) from Central World or along Sukhumvit Road, get off right after the Canal. Then walk up the canal, turn left in one of the small roads just before the next bridge). Its quicker with the boat, but it might be even more difficult to find the way. The whole area seems to be called Nang Loeng. Whenever I asked someone they didn't know what I was looking for and pointed in all directions.
