Top ways to experience nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

    Golfer's Paradise
Thaniya Plaza is on soi Thaniya which runs from Silom Road to Surawong Road. The street caters almost exclusively to Japanese. The building itself has mostly stores, probably 90 percent devoted to everything GOLF. Any item related to golfing, including clothing can be found here. I am not a golfer, so can not say prices are reasonable or not. I have bought clothing here and always thought it to be ok price wise. If you are a golfer or in the market for an item, it is an interesting place to wander around.

    Fake Clubs in Thaniya Plaza
I live and work in Bangkok so I visit the Plaza frequently, I visited last Thursday 8 of June 2023 and I brought some shoes and balls tee's etc. I also brought a Taylor Made 3 wood for a friend and I went to get the club re-shafted I was informed that the club was fake. I did more investigation in to the club and unfortunately I was sold a fake golf club. Be aware of buying things in Thaniya Plaza

Worth a visit but know what to expect
Worth a visit - just adjust your expectations. Most stores are only there to sell stuff, not to help you buy the right club for you. Most stores are clearly not run by golfers or people that know a whole lot about golf. A number of the stores will have staff that follow you through the store as you go, trying to convince you that whatever club you’ve happened to pick up that instant is the one you need. A bit like a used car market. There are one or two exceptions but for the most part, don’t expect any useful advice from the people selling the clubs. If you go there knowing what you’re looking for, and the spec of club you need, and then try find it, you’d do well. The biggest used golf store there (level 2) has some real bargains but there store is quite a mess. Barely room to walk through just clubs everywhere. Surprised they know where anything is. One definite exception- Ping have a great store and fitting center, very professional and worth a visit, and definitely the most professional store there.

    Golf shopping
I was told that Thaniya plaza is golfers shoppers paradise but according to me it is overhyped. For Japnese or Koreans it must be reasonable but In India you may get better deals than what is offered in Thaniya plaza. Accessories like cap, markers, socks are ok to buy but clubs you can give it a miss.

    Missing the Cut
Having been equally stunned by both the range and high prices of the golf section in the Paragon, I asked my hotel concierge if there was a cheaper golf store in Bangkok. He referred me to this plaza. The photos don't do it justice - it's massive and full of everything you could possibly want, with perhaps the exception of golf buggies like Clic Gear. All the major brands are present, plus some other curious Far East brands. The centre areas between shops are little stalls selling small golf stuff - tees, markers, caps, belts and the like. I was led to believe before coming here, by both the concierge and the other reviewers, that this place was cheaper than main mall alternatives. I certainly did not find it to be the case. I was also led to believe that there was a sale on, but everything that was marked down still converted to the same - or a greater! - price as golf shops at home (Australia). In addition, I was led to believe I could haggle. The shop owners - none of whom were very friendly, I might add - did not take too kindly to haggling. If range is what you're after, this is the place, but you might find it better to buy online at home from your local online retailer. I left with a bag of 70 wooden tees for around AUD$12.

    John daly kind of wear
Went there yesterday, if you want to look like john daly this is the place, but most of them are fake, also have the original tho.. Went to one of the biggest shop, looking for a footjoy pro sl, when i asked politely bout the discount price the lady answered in local language and laughing loudly?????? Which i dont have any ideas what went wrong bout my question,🙄🙄 She said “its OLIGINAL!! !! And laughing again ,WHAT???? i was only asking is there any discount?? What so funny bout it?? Then off i go!! Exit from thaniya building!! So if u are looking for proper golf shop just googling, go some place other than thaniya, most of the seller are rude, still some are them are nice, So if you want to look ridiculous on the golf course and buying fake stuff, and meet rude & unpolite & no manner seller this is the place..

    All Golf
4 levels of golf equipment and apparel. It can be reached very easily as it is attached to the Sala Daeng BTS station. If you are looking for loud and colorful golf outfits, this is the place. A lot of the stores carry the same stuff and with the same pricing. Store owners are not really willing to barter. If you are a female golfer, your selection may be somewhat limited. All ion all, a fun shopping experience (for a golfer).

    Disappointed first time visit
Thaniya Plaza is well known to be the golfing mecca for shoppers , but it was not to be for me . The building is old and shops looked shady , many shop owners were not friendly or ready to sell their goods , most were sitting around and just chit chatting among themselves . The price for the golf goods were not cheap as well and many goods were not genuine . To make it worse , the building was a deadtown and lack of any shopping ambience . Pls visit Singapore ‘s Far East Shopping Centre for a better shopping experience.

Overpriced 4 levels of golf stores
Overpriced 4 levels of golf stores, I went there to shop for good Asians priced golf equipment and found that the four levels of Golf store are significantly overprices, The stores attendants are rude and just ignore you, there were plenty of Japanese Golfers there and they got priority over everyone else in the stores. I will not be back.

    price is not everything......
just being able to get golf items at bargain prices is not quite the issue here. the fact that anything and everything related to golf can be availed in about a 100 odd shops under one roof is what makes this place unique. the fact that there are month long promotions with slashed prices, twice or thrice a year, doesn't hurt either. there are outlets here that do one hell of a job repairing clubs and/or replacing shafts of every kind conceivable. a must visit stop for golfers. try out "Golfers" on the first floor for golf attire, shirts, trousers etc, etc, etc.

Thaniya plaza is worth a visit to see the vast choice of equipment on sale but that is it you'd have to be pretty stupid to part with your hard earned here! Prices on second hand golf clubs were 3 times as much as in the U.K. Brand new boxed srixon distance came in at a whopping £15 a dozen, a second hand vokey sm6 wedge was £101. I tried and failed to secure bulk discounts on a number of goods. Their pricing is crazy on all 4 floors and the trade being done is non exsistant due to this
