About
Created by Sakul Intakul, an internationally-renowned Thai floral artist, The Museum of Floral Culture is Bangkok’s new tourist’s attraction especially developed for those who love floral arts and those who are interested in Thai art and culture with special focus on Thai floral culture which is an important part of the Thai way of life. The Museum of Floral Culture also exhibits important floral cultures from civilizations across Asia such as India, China, Japan, Laos, and Bali in Indonesia. In the exhibits, we employ photographs, artifacts, tools and equipments—used in the creation of floral arts—along with fresh flowers to tell the stories. We would not want to be misleading, but please kindly note not to expect extravagant floral displays as you would see in a flower show. The Museum of Floral Culture is located in the quiet residential area of Dusit District. Built in the reign of King Rama VI, The Museum of Floral Culture is a beautifully preserved 100-year-old teak mansion of colonial architecture, covering the total ground of 1,800 square meters of an impeccably-landscaped Thai-meets-Zen-style garden. There's a little tea shop as part of the museum, and you will definitely want to stop in for a pot of tea and Asian sweets after your tour.

Nice place

A beautiful place! Nice teasalon and a relaxiing atmosphere.
Unfortunately the guide had a very strong accent and I had a hard time understanding him. Too bad because I think the exhibition was nice and interesting and I would have liked to get the most out of it....

Great Morning
Sep 2019 • Friends
We wanted to get away from busy Bangkok. The museum was a quiet oasis close to the centre of the city.

We arrived before the 10 am opening time as there was not much traffic. We were welcomed into the house and enjoyed a number of different teas, Thai sweets and a most delicious local cake.

We took the 11 am English tour 150 baht per person. You can't take photos inside the 100 year old teak house but we certainly enjoyed the tour which also covered the gardens.

A very restorative morning from the Bangkok crowds and traffic.

Beautiful oasis in the city

If you wish spending a relaxing time surrounded by an exotic tropical garden, this is the place to go. I signed up for their tour, which I'd highly recommend. (No aircon in most of the rooms)

Visitors can have tea in the cafe without joining the tour. Located in less touristy Dusit neighborhood, the colonial-style building is well-maintained, and together with the garden, it creates a type of "secret retreat" atomosphere.

I went there about 30 min after it opened on a weekday during my solo travel and I was happy to find out I was the only visitor! I could enjoy the place all to myself. (That was rare in BKK) It was really a refreshing stop away from the madnesses of the big city.

Be sure to bring a mosquito repellent. (The property guide was kind enough to borrow one though)
You are not allowed to take photos of the collection.

Indulged in our Thai floral exhibits, which were a convergence between roots and modern creation from the owner, a well-known Floral-Arranging Artist, whereby this museum is a house built since King Rama 6's reign. Also some drinks and desserts are available, and so delish.

Break from the madness of BKK

Daughter found this little gem. Floral history of Bangkok, many fun facts to absorb some culture if you have a few hours to unwind.

Cafe on site to have high tea or just a soda or cold water.

Stunning old house with beautiful garden. Tasty food and drinks. Such a unique place to visit in Bangkok. I had a tour around the house and saw incredible work by the talented owner. The place is a feast for your eyes, even the food and drinks are visually attractive. You can tell it is run with love and passion. Staffs are also very helpful and polite. 10 stars from me :)

Disappointed this time
Dec 2017 • Couples
Dropped by its newly open cafe, Botanical Cafe, to see how it is. Only a few choices for food and dessert. Not wow but enjoyable. The service was pretty slow. Waited for like half an hour and just to find out that they have forgotten our order. Good lord. Lucky it was not a hot day.

Superb experience, creative genius

I had the extreme fortune of meeting Sakal when I visited yesterday that just topped an already super visit. It's a quiet calm oasis in the center of this bustling metropolis, a lovely 2 hour relaxing visit with a guided tour of the history of Thai floral art and some examples of Sakal's creative work and time for a coffee. It was a pleasure to meet Sakal!

Off the beacon track; but well worth a visit

A romantic venue set in a beautiful home adorned with flowers & lush gardens. I went for dinner, where there was only an exclusive arrangement for just 3 to 4 tables. The whole dining theme was floral, which aroused all the senses from the visual, tasting & scent. I look forward to a different experience during the day for high tea; on my next trip to Bangkok.
