We booked ringside seats here on our first night in Bangkok as we are both fans of Muay Thai. They cost 20p0 Baht each which was around £50. We were not aware that to pick up our tickets we needed ID but luckily my husband had his driving license so we got them. The guy who worked there was telling us we would have to wait but when he realised we had the ringside tickets we were ushered through to pick them up and enter. We both had our temperatures taken in the midst of the coronavirus panic and we then shown to our first row ringside seats. Perfect view of the action, the fighters, their corners and all the goings on.
We had seat service for beer and food, but be warned they only take cash and the beers were not cheap at 150 Baht a pint.
We could see all the shenanigans in the third tier when the betting started and it was interesting but quite confusing. We also witnessed the touts in crowd shouting instructions to fighters and corner men after a few rounds, which seemed a little odd, but as we couldn’t understand we just enjoyed the entertainment of it.
What let this place down was the state of the toilets. Not clean at all given current concerns on hygiene but luckily we had wipes and gel, to cleanse our hands.
All in a great night of action and would recommend to anyone who likes martial arts and wants a proper Thai experience.

This was a brilliant experience that I am so pleased we went to. We are not generally interested in fighting sports but went here as my girlfriend thought it was a 'must do' while in Thailand... she was right!
The fighting has a delicate and rhythmic quality to it that I was not expecting, its well worth the trip even if you are not a fight fan. We paid for 2nd class tickets which were great, there is no need to pay the extra for club class as you will just end up being surrounded by white people and miss out on the excitement of the real fans. Equally I would not go in 3rd class as the fans were maybe a bit too excitable.
This is an experience I would highly recommend for someone looking to see a real bit of Thai culture on their visit to Bangkok.

Great night out seeing an iconic part of Thai culture. Went on a Wednesday night when I had nothing else going on. Buying a ticket online was easy, and it looked like buying tickets at the gate was easy as well. The staff are attentive and friendly. Drinks and food are well priced. The fighters are aggressive and the locals really get into the matches which makes for a great atmosphere. Rajadamnern is a great place to see Muay Thai and I definitely recommend going.

Enjoyed the experience.
Had ring side seats.
Bouts split into 2 parts with 4 bouts per part. Each bout lasts 25 mins (3 mins rounds plus 2 mins rests…x 5 rounds)
Only drawback is that they only serve sell beer after 7pm… which is about the 2nd match into part 2.

Before I booked tickets, I contacted the marketing team to ask which night was best and which seats to book, as it was for my Mum's birthday. I am so glad I did because once they found out it was a birthday present, they booked us the most amazing seats, we got to meet the President of the Boxing Stadium and they presented my Mum with a cake and floral arrangement.
We were in Club Class, which was great, as you were at just the right height to see everything. The whole night was packed with action, watching the skill and techniques that the boxers use is just stunning. Definitely the best place to experience Muay Thai!

We chose 2nd tier seats and are so glad we did. The floor and certain club seats are too low but we found we had a perfect view. There were 9 fights, two ended in KO. Definitely very exciting. We also really liked watching the locals betting on the fights.

When I found myself in Bangkok I made sure that I caught a muay thai fight at the historic Rajadamnern Stadium. It did not disappoint. The stadium was packed, the fights were electric, and my mom enjoyed the fights. Definitely would return again to watch more fights.

Went here our first night in Bangkok after 24 hours on a plane but the vibe in the arena was incredible. the crowd was so lively and into it. the fights are one after the other and i think there was about 7 or 8 of them. we got the 2nd best seats (the blue chairs) and they were definitely worth it. perfect view of the ring and high enough that no one is blocking your view. would definitely go again.

The people of Thailand (and the owners of Rajadamnern Stadium) are laughing all the way to the bank at the expense of foreigners dropping ฿1000-2000 ($30-60 USD) for what essentially amounts to watching high school football practice. Like you (yes, you, the non-Thai person reading this review wondering if you should go watch Muay Thai on your trip to Bangkok), I came to TripAdvisor and decided it was worth the expense. Do me a favor: when you go and regret making that decision like I did, come back here and click "Helpful" below so that other readers can avoid making the mistake we just made.
When you arrive at Rajadamnern, you will initially have multiple scalpers/hustlers try to scam you by telling you that the event is sold out, or that you need to buy special tickets. They're wrong. We went on what was supposed to be a "big" Saturday night with multiple championship fights, and the stadium was 1/2 empty.
You will head to the line specifically for foreigners (it is literally labeled "Foreigners") where you will proceed to pay 5 to 10 times what a Thai citizen will pay for the same tickets. Then you will enter an incredibly filthy stadium. If you were suckered into paying for "VIP" seats ringside, you will look around you to realize only tourists are sitting there. No one in Thailand was stupid enough to pay that much money to watch the fight. You will likely only stay to watch 2-3 fights because you will realize quickly that rounds 1-2 and 5 involve zero fighting, which means you essentially get to stare at 2 men dancing in a ring for 9 minutes of a 15 minute fight. Then you will realize that even the "championship" fights are bogus because if you ask what the championship is for, it is likely for some ridiculously lame title. Something along the lines of "Best Fighter in the 120-123 Pound Weight Class From Region 3 in Bangkok."
Don't make the mistake this tourist did, and skip this waste of money and time.

My experience is it went late into the evening, about midnight. But it was ‘fight of the year’ and there was a few speeches and lucky draw.

A few questions about this attraction.
1. What night is best to visit? Are weekends better atmosphere?
2. Is there a website where you can pre-book tickets?
3. Do you have to watch all bouts or can you turn up for last 3 or 4 bouts?

It's always high energy because so e if the top boxers and their promoters are here. They're only open on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, starting from about 6:30pm. You can buy tickets at the box office, but there will be ticket scalpers ready for tourists. We went the safe route and just purchased it online; be sure to print your e-ticket to present at the ticket booth. Outside food/ drink isn't allowed, but there are censure around who will bring beer etc right to your seat so you don't miss a minute of the action. Go for the early matches if you're unfamiliar with the sport to get a feel of the rules etc; match intensity varies with weight catergory and you'll see the ones to look out for in your pamphlet.

I've bought tickets for my son and I for July. I can't see an age restriction anywhere but he's 15 (6 foot though!) ...will that be a problem? Has anyone that has been seen children there?

We have been there, but arrives 30 minutes late. Nobody checked us for anything, just showed the receipt (from hotel as we bought the tickets from hotel tour stand) and they took us to our places.
