Indra Square is the perfect destination if you are looking for economical shopping options. We spent an hour just going around the 2 floors of shops and merchandize. You can get god bargains especially if you buy in bulk. Small souvenirs, mementos, sweets, chocolates, bags, purses, key chains, fridge magnets etc are available at economical rates.
The food court on Floor 3 is also good. You need to purchase pre-paid coupons.
One shop I would highly recommend is called "Arunrung" (hope this is spelled correctly) next to the Food Court. You can buy amazing chocolates, candies and the like especially for gifting purpose. The old lady shopkeeper was very amiable and nudged us to buy "Durian" chips. The cost was on the higher side but the chips were heavenly. You put it in your mouth & they just melt.

It is not advisable to make shoping for Indra square. Most of the items are duplicate and very very cheap in quality. Batter to purchase from any local market nearby your home. Shopping from Indra is total vest of money. Electronic items which are available from Indra is totally duplicate and lots of problems while use. I have purchased Samsung galaxy note 9 from Indra and after insert sim card no network is available. While check from local samsung shop found that it is totally duplicate. they are also make manipulation in IMEI number which is denger for mobile security.

So many shops (must be more than 1,000) offering all sorts of low priced goods. Could not resist buying more than what I wanted, kind of goods and number goods. Quality is reasonably good.

Thailand-made Shawls are 50-bath in Indra mall where there are 100-baths everywhere outside. Most of the clothing and shoes are cheaper compared to platinum mall. Some sellers can even speak Sinhalese. They have 2 prices, wholesale and retail.

It is good mall to buy cheap stuff but thai people have preconceived notion about Indians and their smiles disappear when they see Indians appearing their shop. I had bad experience in this. For the same product a thai girl offered discount to farang( what they refer to white people) refused me the same price and and one thai man was so racist that he was not ready to talk to me when I asked me for the price of shoes. When i urged him again for the shoes price as I badly wanted to buy them, he straight away told me you Bloody Indian go.

I felt assaulted and angered but left the shop as I was with my wife and when discussed this thing a Burmese employee working there she confirmed their prejudice and racist behaviour to indian tourist.

Simply avoid thai shops here. This incident just happened with me afternoon and it spoiled my day.

This whole plaza is good for normal shopping like cloths..luggage bag etc but DO NOT ever buy any phone or electronic goods from Bangkok. We bought 5 of the newest phone models including i-phone 7 and none of them are working after landed to India. Specially the shop names i mentioning below. If you really want to loose your hard earned money then please go for it.
If you try to connect them after reaching India, they will not gonna answer your call once they recognized.
Indra Square- 1st floor, i m sharing pic of one of the shop owner, from where we bought and cheated completely.

Cheap market. Mostly you will find Indians shopping around. Beware when shopping as if you are with family with small children you are a easy trap. It happened to me recently when I went there with my family including children. Almost all the shopkeepers knows Hindi there. We went there on our last day of the trip and at night we have to catch flight back to India which we were discussing among our self while shopping. We were carrying plenty bags. We didn't realise that when somebody put a small 100 bhatt necklace in one of our bag and when we left that shop after paying the stuff we bought we were called back from other shop and than one of the guy confidently blamed my wife that your bag has something which you have not paid for and out of those several bags they spotted the exact bag. To our surprise the 100 bhatt necklace was there inside which we tried them to explain that we hv bought so many stuff from there shop than why will be take that 100 bhatt stuff without paying but non of them was listening.security was called and we were taken to some room where 5 or 6 so called shopping centre management staff was there where they claim that non of them knew English as I was trying to explain them that it's a confusion. They started threatening us that they gonna call police or I should pay them 2000 bhatt. I was having small children with me along with my old parents so somehow I manage to bring down that money to 1000 bhatt and paid and left the place with sour experience of indra market. We were deeply hurt as we were accused of theft. So suggest guys be very very careful while shopping there. Till now I heard this type of incidents happening in bangkok but experienced it.

This place is very crowdy and old fashioned. Bargaining is possible and sometimes price goes down to 30-45%

Indra square can sell you everything at less than half the price. All branded items can be bought (of course they are first copies and not originals) at dirt cheap price. You can get a Ralph Lauren shirt for 250 Baht with a bit of haggling. Go for it if you like brands and do not care much for the real McCoy.
