The area
Address
Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

First time suit shopping and I had no clue on what I was looking for? He made the experience super smooth and informed me on all the styles and fabrics. Also the suit turned out great and the material held up well. Finally I got great deal for what I bought.

I visited 6 or 7 tailors while in Bangkok. Everyone seem like they try to sell the cheapest fabrics for for the highest price. I actually do not like shopping, but guys at Damanino were great. They even made a coffee then asked me what I want, helped me to go troug the catalogs, explained what is the difference in fabrics (I learned a lot). There was no pressure and service, well I have to say better and more professional than in Australia where I am from. I work for a large finance company and when Daniel was touring with his tailors in Australia I recommended him to all the employees (even my manager got a suit made). One of my colegies just asked me when Damanino tailors are going to be back in AU as he wants a couple of suits. Anyway, if anyone wants a quality suit or shirt made, not sure what to get, wants to get good service with no pressure, this is the place.

Terrible and a waste of time & money....I was recommended by a friend to this tailor boutique and checked previous reviews. Seemed alright. Visited the boutique a few days ago. The 2 sales staff were friendly and polite and sounded professional when I told them I wanted to tailor more than 10 shirts, 2 suits and extra trousers. I explained to them I had bad experiences with tailors in Thailand and they assured me they are a class above the rest. That's one of the reasons why their charges were on the high side compared to others in Bangkok. I brought my own shirt, suit and trousers to expedite the measurement process and it was done in a jiffy. They recommended new, trendy and fashionable styles for my clothing fit. I agreed. I chose the materials for my clothes but due to past experiences, I instructed them to tailor 2 suits, 5 shirts and 3 trousers before I continue with the rest if the fit is great. The 2nd day, I went for fitting in the late evening and waited more than an hour before the delivery guy delivered my clothes for fitting. immediately I pointed out some inconsistencies on their workmanship. They seemed very patient and attentive during the measurement process and their suggestions were great. But the workmanship differs from what the reviews have claimed. I told them I wanted stiff and thick collars and cuffs for my shirts and as usual - no problem. During the fitting, the shirt was a disaster. The collar was small and soft and the same for the cuff. I pointed that to them and again their response - no problem, will alter it. Oversight. Then the trouser was too short and the belt loops were a mess. Problem noted. On the 3rd day, I went for fitting again and again was made to wait 45 minutes. I pointed out that the cuffs of my shirts were not what I wanted and what they promised. Then the "delivery guy" who later claimed to be the tailor of my shirts said that he can't get me the stiff cuffs as he don't have the machine to do it!! Ridiculous- then how on earth did he manage to do the stiff collars for me? His answer - it was easy on the collar but he can't do it on the cuffs because his machine can't cut through the cuffs if they were stiff for the button hole!! Ok I accepted the excuse and tried on the trouser. It was comfortable and the length was alright. The jackets were good too. So we arranged to deliver the clothes to my hotel on my last day of stay, 4th day, 2 hours before my checkout time. When delivered, the clothes were all packed so I tried on a few and was quite alright with it. Paid the balance and left for Singapore. Whilst at home, I tried them on again and I realized that the belt loops of the trousers differ from each trouser and were in a mess. One of the sales staff told me while I was fitting that although they outsourced to different tailors to expedite the tailoring process, the sizes won't differ because it was the same person cutting the cloth materials and the length of it would be the same. Nonsense and rubbish!! I measured the trousers and realized that the cloth materials differ in lengths!! Lastly, I found out that the zipper lengths for my trousers differ in lengths of 0.5 inches. Though it seemed impossible, I will try to ask for a refund. Why do we go to a tailor ? Because we want a perfect cut and fit to the clothes we wear !! And workmanship is of outmost importance and that's why we are paying more. A lesson learnt again. These boutiques outsourced their work to contract tailors, maybe. So, you will never get the same cut since it was outsourced to different tailors.

[TL;DR] I'm extremely satisfied with the workmanship!
I wrote a very lengthy review below to share my experience and hopefully help the visitors as much as possible.
What I tailored: 1 suit and 1 shirt (My friend made another suit and shirt)
How I discovered Damanino: I did my research online a couple of months ago before my trip last week. I had a clear budget in mind and I was looking for a good tailor (with a sense of cut and a good selection of fabric) in Bangkok. This is my first bespoke suit so I wanted to compare the look and feel of such a suit VS that of a made-to-measure of about the same price. I shortlisted close to 10 tailors but half of them were out of my budget (with a spend of 8,000 baht and upwards for a suit). I contacted the rest via Facebook and Daniel (owner of Damanino) replied me swiftly and we made an appointment at his shop.
What the experience was like:
Day 1: At first, I was surprised to hear that Daniel wasn't in and was away in Australia for a business trip. I was served by David, their tailor, and he was fantastic. The longest time was spent on choosing a suitable fabric, because I am very particular about it. They had a good selection of wool blends, mainly silk & wool. The only downside was that their selection of wool & polyester blends was quite limited as compared to what I saw with tailors in Singapore. The silk and wool blends cost 1,000 baht more but because the one fabric I liked turned out to be silk and wool, I decided to go ahead with it. When David took our body measurements, he made several recommendations for the suit. The ones I remembered specifically were the overall cut, lapel width, waist curve, body length of the suit, and sleeve length. We were told to return the next day at 5pm for our first fitting, which was consistent with what I read online for most tailors in Bangkok. Initially, we hesitated because we understood that good tailoring takes time and wanted to ask for them to do our first fitting after 48 hours instead, but decided to play by ear anyway.
Day 2: Our first fitting took less than 30 minutes. The suit came in 3 pieces (2 sleeves and the main jacket) and David helped us fit the pieces together. He was very meticulous and picked up the excess/slack in the suit. A word of caution: Just don't fiddle around with your fingers because you might touch (more like get pricked) by the needle if you do. We were told to return the next day at 5pm for our final fitting, which we can also request to make any changes if we choose to, for free!
Day 3: We arrived early and waited some time for the suit to arrive from the factory. Their factory is just located nearby. I had 1 or 2 extremely minor things that I wanted to change but overall I was very satisfied. So was my friend. I decided not to go ahead to make the changes as there was often traffic jam in the Sukhumvit area (taking MTR is a better choice) and we had other plans for the next day.
Note: Make sure you set aside at least 4 days for the entire process! 3 days minimum but 4 is recommended in case you want to make any other changes.

I Was amazed by the great service here and Daniel is very professional and knows his stuff. Great selection of fabrics and quality. I ended up buying 1 suit, 1 blazer and 3 shirts. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for high end custom made suit or shirt and the best of all was the price.

Hi Stephane
Thanks for your message. Our suits starts from 15,000 baht (approximately US$475) for the basic pure wool suit. We also make suits with fabrics from top brands such as Zegna, Dormeuil, Hollland & Sherry, Vitale Barberis, Guabello and other top Italian mills, of course the price of these will vary based on the Brand and fabric quality.
