Local but well known!
Dec 2019
One of my favourite places to visit over the weekend as it's not too far from home, Plenty of parking or taxi is convenient too.
Great selection of shops, street food, local restaurants and cafes. Can dine it and take away. The market has always been very clean, which is a very big plus.

Great place to try true Thai street food and yummy cake shop. Always stop there on my trips to BKK. Fresh fruit and veggies and also sold at the market along with some clothes stores.

Off the tourist map
Oct 2018 • Couples
This place is off the tourist map, but only 10 minutes by taxi from Mo Chit BTS. If you want to see a market in Bangkok which is not a tourist market but a place where Thai people come to eat and shop, this place is worth a visit. You could spend an hour here having some food and a stroll around. In the central area is the food court, which has stalls selling various Thai favourites. Then there are stalls selling fresh fruits, curry pastes, Thai desserts, household items. There is also the Royal Project store and several coffee shops.

If you are taking a taxi here, you can show the Thai name of the market to the driver - ตลาด บอง มาร์เช่

Nice place to explore; lots of traditional Thai bites, as well as thai food for people who wants to fill their stomach. A few award winning stalls to look for(in the pictures)

Away from the Tourist Traps
May 2018 • Couples
Unknown among tourists, this market is a perennial favourite for locals craving Thai food, from fiery Southern curry to fruits and sweets. The market functions as a food court with recommended stalls including Nai Sai barbecue pork rice - come for lunch not dinner as everything will be gone by late afternoon. Also here are a royal project store and endless rows of shops selling traditional Thai clothing. If you want to have your wedding Thai style, this is the place to get some silk.

Taxi from Mor Chit BTS or Kamphaeng Phet MRT should cost 60 baht without traffic.

Good for traditional & tasty Thai desserts

The market is nice and clean with variety of shops, market stalls, restaurants, cafe, banks and food court. It was busy, in especially in weekend on a road called Prachaniwet I (Prachachurn area). I went shopping every week, as a frequent visitor, because it was a shopping market, nearby my home

It seems very comfortable for senior citizen & aging lifestyle in walking, relax & shopping around, since it had several zones. (From the historical fact, this Bon Marche was owned and under His Majesty the King's IX elder Sister, Her Royal Royal Highness Princess Galayani Vadhana landlords)

Great market/lunch place if you are looking for a very local but accessible trip
Jan 2016 • Family
I work near this market and try and go every couple of weeks for lunch. It is outdoors but very organized and with a lovely variety of Thai food. All staff are competing for customers so buying is easy (they will understand what you want). Just point and they will make it. My favourite is a Hainan rice (Khao Man Gai) place that faces the main seating area. Its the best in Bangkok for this dish. Ask for Khao Man Gai Nua Luang if you don't want the skin or bones. Help yourself to the sauces which are great (its the only place with a soy-sauce based option which is super delicious). Other good places are the muslim stall (also facing the main seating area - Salad Khaek and the roti dish) and a Vietnamese place inside one row of stalls with everything clearly visible. Very cheap for everything.

The everyday... lovely quality food court and plus.
Dec 2015 • Friends
I visited this lovely market a few times already. Every times, I must have bought something home. Since it's too good to eat something delicious even we may need re-heating. All kind of foods, snacks and desserts. Specially this time of the year, when the weather is most friendly in Thailand. We can sit in the open air food court along a small fine lake for variety of foods. All of them been specially selected to be there. If you may come in other period of the year when weather is too hot to sit outside, they have many other air conditioned restaurants too. If you are in Prachachuen, Jatujak, Ladyao or nearby - try this out, you will love the place.
