Titanium Has Completely Lost It...
2.0 of 5 bubblesJan 2020
Titanium used to be not a good, but a great spot for good live music from the 2 regular bands Unicorn and Big Boy Band, and they served some of the best cocktails in town. Also used to be packed from around 23:00 onwards. Big Boy Band played better, sounded a lot better and was just better knit together than Unicorn. Sadly they split up quite a while back and they were no more. Have had a break going to Titanium (not since last June) which I have always praised for the bands, the atmosphere and their always great cocktails: After previous visit just 2 weeks ago, I can only say this: Titanium went down and they went fast!! Thursday night.... Lets start with the bands, its almost a joke now. So, Unicorn kicked out their front singer was that about 2 years ago, 5 other band members remained. Today only 1 original member is left, the bass player who I always thought was the best musician of them all. Everybody else gone and they have not one but two lead singers. Wouldn't a name change be in order now, since they are all gone, its not really Unicorn anymore !?? Yeah ladies, its definitely time for a name change. The 2nd band now is I believe The Grumps was their name, also all-lady band. This band has the above-mentioned original Unicorn front singer and they play with a repertoire resembling Unicorn. Hmmmm... The Grumps were playing when we came. They sure need some more time together, they weren't playing as a unit, a little bit off each other at times, especially on the guitar/bass. Bass player btw was giving a show, she might be too good for this ensemble. Sure, they could play overall but just rather ok. A guy I believe was the boss of the establishment was there tonight and he had some friends with him. Suddenly one of them wanted to sing with Unicorn, and another guy took over on guitar. Then another song and after that 2nd, the girls almost had to push for them to vacate the stage. Then another guitar player went on, a Thai guy from some band. Played a single song with the ladies. On this thursday, from around midnight there were probably 15 customers, only to diminish to just 10 customers we counted (upstairs dont know, usually no one sit up there). There were a lot more hostesses than guests. Drinks/cocktails Ordered a White Russian which never fails. But today it did, it came served juuust about half size in the glass of what it usually was. Half size, and 360bht! I asked the hostess, hey come on its half size, whats on with this. She just shrugged. We went thru Singapore Sling, Zombies, Long Island Iced Tea, Mojito. All used to be top notch here but now all were SOUR beyond belief, all had the exact same sour taste of way too much lime juice. The Long Island had no triple sec, it was totally flat and the Mojito was sent back. It was just that bad, not at all resembling what a Mojito tastes like. They didnt even have the courtesy of pouring me a fresh one, nono, same glass came back with added sugar and to our amusement, a small glass of xtra lime juice was on the side. What a disaster!!! In the past, while bands were on breaks, one of the bartenders would be DJ in the small booth beside the entrance, mixing songs in those 15-20 min intervals. Now a guy just walks to the booth, puts up an Ipad, press play and goes back. Right, you dont need a DJ but come on, can you possibly be more lazy and complacent !? Or is it maybe due to the fact that only in the past when Titanium would be PACKED at this time, it was deemed ok having a DJ present. This nights music experience was ridiculous, pauses in between numbers, talking about what to play etc, because two nits wanted to be center stage, change of this change of that. There are 2 bands, let them play! If they invite someone on-stage, fine, otherwise let them do what people come for. Let the music flow, uninterrupted. Prior to this visit I have in the past had to reserve a table on occasion but Titanium's website, their response to emails and requests, are at a ridiculous low. It has always been like that and it shows how little energy is put into customer service and care. The boss that night looked happy enough, being totally oblivious to the reality that 15 customers from midnight says all about how things are flowing....mmm I mean how things are sliding downhill. If he cant see there are major problems with yeah, with everything basically, well then, good luck. To outsiders, music this night looked like amateur night. Cocktails were so bad that had this been my first visit I would never come back Atmosphere kinda lost with just 10-15 guests, with the poor hostesses not knowing what to do. The 2 stars are only given for the bands and hostesses service. Titanic....Titanium has hit the iceberg and is sinking fast, this was our last visit for sure - quite simply due to the horrendously lousy cocktails which spoils the overall experience - but there are other and better vessels of entertainment in Bangkok.

The area
Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Give 3.5 stars. Best known for their ice bar located on the second floor. The room is really cold, so you will be in shocked. We ordered some shots.
There are seatings on both floors but it seems that the tables are RSVP.
Live band members are pretty good singers.
4 shots comes out to be 500 bahts.

We came to this place with our middle-aged friends who are regulars there and are very excited about the girls band. Luckily we came quite early, as they have 9-10 happy hour and managed to listen to the band which warms up the girls. They have a fantastic guitarist (excellent solos!) and, if encouraged, can play quite heavy music. The girls band was mediocre and played mostly pop, but I understand why men get so excited about them - they look good and dance. We didn't have problems with the bill as we paid as we went. The ice bar was fun the first, but not the second time. Overall the crowd there is mostly wealthy elder foreigners and young pretty girls, but as a young couple we were not harassed or advanced at. One should bear in mind that, if such situation occurs, the bar charges a fine if one wants to invite a staff lady out. However, since we got bored with the girl band, we walked towards the main road pass 2-3 bars after Titanium and found an excellent Otto bar (right on the corner) where they play oldish metal and have pool table. Later in the night we walked back towards Titanium and right next to it there is a burger place owned by an ex-Marine which makes beautiful juicy chili burgers. We enjoyed all three places so much that repeated the route the next night as well

I stumbled into this bar by accident. Well I’m glad I came here because the live music was awesome and drinks were great with excellent service. I recommend this bar on Soi 22. They also have an ice bar upstairs.

I have been going to this bar for years - it can be a fun place with a great live band but unfortunately the terrible, mercenary, rude service and attitude from some of the hostesses working in this bar completely ruins what otherwise could be a great place. On a night out with friends, one hostess 1) refused to return my change and instead said 'thank you for the tip' 2) served me a glass of water instead of the (expensive) whisky and water mix that I had ordered hoping I wouldn't notice 3) started insulting me and a friend and making the universal sign for masturbation with her friends after we had politely rejected her advances (which consisted of groping us at the bar) and worst of all 4) verbally abused my girlfriend, who had not said a word to her, to the extent that she was left in tears and her night ruined. Just horrible horrible service, like nowhere else I have ever seen. Will never go back.

I have been coming to Titanium for nearly 10 years as I have been visiting Bangkok and have developed a love / hate relationship with the place.

I love the vibe, the bands are always excellent and it's a guaranteed great fun night out.

The issue I have with the place is the lack of integrity of the staff: once K handed a 1,009 baht to pay for a drink and was given change of a 500 - plus a sneer from the batman who knew exactly what he'd done.

Another time I came with a friend and he left early - he left half the bill and when I left a while later I did the same plus a 500B tip. I left the bar and a few minutes later was strong armed by the club's bouncers who had decided I had shirt paid the bill.

Last night some drinks appeared on our bill that we had not ordered and of course at closing time after the fact it's pretty hard to argue otherwise.

I will keep coming but have learned to expect to be ripped off...

A great place to lay back and relax while enjoying some of the best bands in Bangkok. The Unicorn band is an all girl band and the only way to describe them is awesome. The lead singer has an incredible voice and the band has been playing at this venue for many years. A huge number of customers come just to see this band. They are widely known and respected. They play a wide range of rock and ballads that bring the house down every time.

The Big Boy band is the second house band and are also a great band to listen to. They play more rock than Unicorn with a wide selection of tunes from many of the rock greats.

This is a small bar, but the staff are friendly and the service is always great. After a few trips, they call you by name and remember your drink preferences and generally take very good care of their customers. There is a lot of regular local patrons, many couples and many singles. This is often a favorite for a starting point on a girls night out, so there is a lot of people passing through all evening.

The Ice Bar upstairs while small and simple is a great way to kick the night off. If you want to get away from some of the crowds listening to the band, the upstairs area gives some extra space that is more laid back.

One of the better bars in Bangkok to take friends visiting. The area around the bar is starting to develop with a lot of newer bars and restaurants opening up, often replacing some of the older haunts that were bringing the caliber of Soi 22 down. A great place to start an evening and roll into a great night with friends.

My 22 year old son came to visit Bangkok last year with his girlfriend and they both loved it. The crowd is mixed in age, with not too many younger people due to the rock music theme. Irrespective of age, the music played are the classics for both current and more mature ears. Highly recommended.

Went with my girlfriend after hearing how great it was. Not the case. The whole club was full of Pervy Middle aged men touching up the girls working there. Struggled to find the 'ice bar', eventually found ourselves in a cupboard sized freezer with a couple of bottles of spirit on a small bar... No bartender. Won't be returning unless I go through a terrible divorce late in life and just want to feel wanted again.

This bar has a great party atmosphere. But be very careful with the waitresses, especially Sandy.
I was there about 2 weeks ago from 9.45pm to 1230am. I had about 4 beers and 2 vodkas and bought Sandy and her friends about 5 drinks in total.
However i was charged for 11 drinks for myself and 20 ladies drinks. The bill came up to THB6,940 (USD213).
I later realised that when Sandy brought me up to the ice bar, her friends have been putting drinks receipts in the receipts cup.
I spoke to the manager who was helpful but he said he couldn't do much as the money has already been paid out to the waitresses.

Word to the wise, check everytime the waitresses ask you to sign the receipt and ensure its exactly what you ordered. It was a costly lesson for me. I hope their management keep these gals in check.

Spent five nights in Bangkok recently, before heading to Phuket. The first few nights, we followed the advice of the hotel front desk and went to Bed Club and Q-Bar. Those places were quite crowed and I didn't care for the techno club music. We met some lovely Thai girls and they took us to this smallish club. What a breath of fresh air. They have an ice bar - which was great (allows you to cool off from the heat of Bangkok.) Then, they have an all girl band that was just stellar. I didn't think the prices were too high, but that is compared to Bed Club and Q-Bar. About $7 U.S. for a premium cocktail. Being from Chicago, that is fine. We just loved this place and went back several times. They had two bands on one Wednesday night, and both were amazing. Check this place out!
