If you are in the market for fabric, this is the place...it is the source for all the various suit manufacturers your Tuk-Tuk driver wants to take you to.....just to look, no cost to look

Little India is an area concentrated by indian shops and fabric trade in Bangkok. It has a lot of Indian textile and food outlets. You can get textile at cheap prices here. There are also shops selling indian prayers material and god statues. Also can tailor suits in a short period of time. India Emporium is also here. Top floor... More

We went to Chatuchak the day before and searched for materials - my wife for dresses and me for a suit and DJs. Surpirisingly, Chatuchak doesnt have any decent material outlets. So the next day we legged it off to Phahurat Market. Get off at the metro stop Huan Lamphong, and then either walk the approx 2 km through China... More

Whole sale market for fabrics of all kinds! You name it,they got it! Lots of people of Indian origin around. No bargaining unless you buy in bulk. China world fabric outlet is a better option...All that you are looking for in ac comfort, instead of roaming around in the heat. Very far from Sukhumvit.

We spent the better part of the day wandering around this area and found some great deals. Try to have a good map or GPS on your phone as it is not directly off any Skytrain or Underground MRT stations. You have to make a point to get there as it is not on the main drag.

I compare this to New York's Mood Designer Fabrics along the Garment District, but in Asian Version and slightly lower scale. They offer fabulous deals for different kind of fabrics. Anything from expensive, new, high-end and glamourous to outdated prints and cheaper ones, one can find something for a specific project. They have laces, ribbons, and more. They have cafes... More

Coming there was quite hard, no BTS or MRT was available. Taxi was a good choice, since the public bus was quite hard to use. There are many shops which sell Indian spices, snacks and Indian goods. The Indian Emporium mall at there have food center at the topmost floor. Their Indian meals were very yummy.

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
