Bangkok’s Airport Rail link is most convenient and cost effective way to get to Suvarnabhumi International. The line runs through Bangkok city center. It has only 8 stops. It takes approximately 40 minutes at most to get to the airport (Google for some strange reason thinks it takes 2 1/2 hours) from the beginning of the line. It’s scheduled for 1 train every 10 minutes ( it did as we were leaving on a Sunday of H. M. Birthday on July 28). At 35 Baht = $1.25 U. S. it can’t be beat on cost. There are buses/subways that can take you to the various stations and each station is about 2-3 miles apart. Unfortunately it is a cash only system and tokens can be bought at the kiosk on the platform. There are elevators and stairs to the platforms at the stations.

Only 45 Baht one way to/from BKK Airport to city centre (BTS Phaya Thai). 30 minute journey with 7 stops. Open daily 5.30-24.00... We found queues at ticket booth were shorter and faster than ticket machines when we were there on Friday late afternoon so we just walked straight to the ticket booth. Pretty busy tho. I reckon you stay at a hotel near BTS Phya Thai if you have suitcases. Easier to travel around Bangkok. We stayed at Hotel Thomas Bangkok. Short stroll from Airport Rail Link and BTS. Quite new and inexpensive. P.S. Avoid peak hours in the morning, late afternoon thru evening during weekdays if possible. Massive queues and way too busy.

Airport Rail Link is an easy way to get to/from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Airport Rail Link departs from the basement at Suvarnabhumi Airport, and city line stop at Lad Krabang, Ban Thap Chang, Hua Mark, Ramkhamhaeng, Makkasan where you can interchange with MRT Blue Line from Phetchaburi Station, Ratchaprarop – Phayathai where you can interchange with BTS Sukhumvit Line at Phayathai Station. The fare between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phayathai is just 45 baht.

This is my default mode of transport out of Suvarnabhumi (I think pronounced Suwanapoon) airport. Gets you downtown pretty quickly (you avoid traffic) and cheaply (much cheaper than taxis, avoid paying tolls). B35 to Makkasan from which you can transfer to the subway at Petchaburi. P45 to Phayathai from which you can transfer to the BTS. The transfer from Makkasan to Pethaburi is a bit more inconvenient. When you get off at Makkasan, there's a walk to Petchaburi station (good directional signs). I suggest you take the 2 lifts if you have heavy luggage coz there are stairs going to Petchaburi station. Phayathai is more straightforward because you don't have to walk too far or go street level to reach the BTS.

Bangkok's airport train is on the lowest floor of the airport, easy to reach via a series of lengthy travelators, or lifts. The fare to Lat Krabang (one stop) was a bargain THB 20 (less than A$1). My train promptly departed. It was airconditioned and fairly fast. Not all stations are totally step free, but this only applied at Lat Krabang to the last bit before the road: about 24 steps if I recall. I could easily toddle my suitcase down that flight. An excellent alternative to what can be congested roads.

This service called city line can be availed at the basement level of Suvarnabhumi (BKK) airport. Tickets can be purchased on the spot. The machine accepted Thai Baht in the denominations of 100, 20 and 10 for a tokenised travel. I was charged 45 THB to Phaya Thai. Is a convenient, pocket friendly and time saving service.

It is literally an elevated railway that runs from Airport to Bangkok. It's quick and comfortable. The difficulty is that transferring to the Skylink or subway is not convenient. Tickets are not linked. The same station has a different name. No escalator. Taxis may be better for travelers with large luggage.

We started off from Lumphini station. Took the MRT to Phetchaburi station. Walked to interchange station Makkasan for Sky train to the airport. Signs and notices are very clear. Followed the crowd lots of people going the same way. We were at the airport under an hour. We are both over 70. Although we only have hand luggage not heavy. Much cheaper than taxis.

The most convenient, quick and reliable way to get to/from Suvarnabhumi airport. Trains run frequently, are well airconditioned, quick (no traffic jams, of course) and cost little (45 THB one-way from airport to Phayathai Station). Trains tend to be overcrowded by commuters during rush hour, though.

Since my previous visit pre COVID- I can report several new stations have been added making theses trains now very busy with local commuters. So if you are trying to transport suitcases to and from the airport I cannot recommend any more. There is no provision for luggage and packed in like sardines is no fun after an 11 hour flight. If you can travel long haul with just a small bag great- otherwise the ARL is really not fit for the purposes of airport to city travel. Taxis cost around 500 Baht, compared with the 45 baht ARL fare plus onward city travel (ie another 24 baht to Siam) - but is door to door with considerably more comfort.

Apart of the fact that it is a train that brings you quite fast and traffic free to the airport the entire idea of it has nothing to do with being smartly fit to be an airport transportation. First of all the ridiculous thing is you pay 15 thb when you go to the airport but 35 when you go from the airport to the city. It’s a cash only place, how ridiculous it is I don’t have to explain. At the airport you need to have Thai baht on hand in order to buy the ticket. It is also one of the busiest train to be used instead of a subway system so in rush hours you will have problems to get on a train and even onto the station as they stop people from entering the station at certain hours. So no it’s not an airport link as they call it. It’s just a train that also goes to the airport.

This was fabulous to ģet into the city. I had been to Bankok 3 times and the traffic f5om the airport or the shop terminal I Laem Chabang was awful. This rail was so cost effective and brought me to within walking distancd with luggage in the 92⁰ heat to my hotel at the Century Park
The only problem with leaving Bangkok with an 8 am flight, the rail link does not start until 6 am according to the hotel doorman , a d ad ice is that thexairport departure I'm igration is very very busy at this airport Earl, so you can not risk being late for a flight
We took a taxi ant with tolls at 5:15 am it cost 275 Baht not the 400 to 538 quoted by the hotel or Grab website

Easiest and cheapest way to get to/from BKK. Taxis are expensive and often try to rip off tourists (e.g., won’t use the meter and overcharge). If you have lots of big luggage the BTS may not be the best as it can get crowded with Thais going to and from work. When I return to Thailand, this is my preferred choice to get into town.

I used the Ariport Link to Suvarnabhumi and was delighted with the connection . Less than 29 minutes and you are at Suvarnabhumi when connecting from Phyathai. Smooth and effortless was the journey despite having a grand baggage and a backpack which otherwise by Cab would first be haranguing with the driver on the approximate fare and then into the traffic stressing out if you would get to the Airport on time. Should it be a metered taxi, you will be sure that the route taken will first cost you time and then taken for a round about ride with ever true traffic situation and so an altered path which will definitely not be faster but for sure expensive.

Wherever you are in Bangkok and think of getting to the Suvarnabhumi Airport on time and at a reasonable cost, I would certainly suggest getting to the nearest BTS and connect to Phyathai where you can easily interchange with the Airport rail link. The best part is yet to come. It's just THB 49 for the Airport link fee travelling in comfort and with the assurance that you will reach in the stipulated time WoW.
This is definitely my most recommended route getting back to Suvarnabhumi in total comfort and avoiding the hefty price that would otherwise be levied by the various taxi services.

We use this every time. A train every few minutes straight thru to central station in c20-25mins.
All for 45bht each.
Added bonus is that at the airport end , there are three currency booths that offer the best rates around- ideal if you’ve just landed.

For about 45 baht (~1.25 USD) you can get from the airport all the way into the city! Easy to locate at the airport, follow the slanted moving walk ways all the way to the bottom then find the kiosks to purchase blue line tickets (the express is not working and not worth it). It will link you up in Phaya Thai with the Skytrain (BTS) if your stop is not on the link itself. It also links with the subway (MRT). Very cost effective especially if you don't have a ton of luggage. We had backpacks. Note it can get pretty crowded at peak commute times (morning/evening). It is airconditioned.

.Bangkok Railway, Thailand - Suvarnabhumi A1 ➡️ Lat Krabang A2.

It’s so convenient, just pack your luggage and drop it off at B2
45baht per person,
The direct route from Suvarnabhumi Airport to the city is half an hour away, and the most important thing is not to worry about traffic jams!
The shifts are all ok, every 10 minutes
There are many Thai locals getting on and off the train at every stop along the way.

I always use the airport link whenever possible. On my most recent trip I left immigration just as heavy monsoon rains hit Bangkok City. The roads outside were at an absolute standstill, with huge traffic jams everywhere. The rail link just chugs onn through to the city and thb 40 beats a stranded thb 400 taxi any day!
