The area
Address
Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

- jason4 contributionsIt's a very good mall. It's a department store with many restaurants and many different types of products. The prices are not expensive. I came here to buy souvenirs and got a lot of things to take back. Not disappointed at all. Come here. Convenient transportation with BTS and subway.Visited September 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 5, 2023
- Triskelion123Whitley Bay, United Kingdom279 contributionsLike American malls but betterI don’t care for shopping other than briefly but this place makes it a pleasure. It is huge, so manages well with heavy footfall. The food stall section is quite amazing, with many Asian delicacies available. The food shops are also specialist. The whole place has a good feel and is worth a visit even for the most avid anti-shopper.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 30, 2023
- Vandana KGurugram (Gurgaon), India7 contributionsNice ExperienceI happened to decide to go to Terminal 21 because of the bad weather. It is a nice place to shop and eat and spend leisure time. They have designed every floor according to a theme based in specific city like Paris, Rome etc. Though it didn't exactly fit the themes, nontheless the design and amenities are good. There was a street food market also on at the time and it was fun to explore local food in a comfortable setting. Good place to go if you want a lot under one roof.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten November 5, 2023
- Daydream35455991053Fort Worth, Texas3 contributionsGreat Food CourtThere is a lot of shopping here. I wish there were more places to sit down. I did use the luggage holding area so I could walk around freely. The food court on the top floor is cheap and I also enjoyed the conveyor sushi restaurant.Visited February 2023Traveled with friendsWritten November 14, 2023
- isnakebiteMilton Keynes, United Kingdom790 contributionsHighly recommended.I'm glad it is still here. After checking in early AM at my hotel on my first day I headed straight here to sort myself out for my trip the next day to the in laws. New phone sim plan, Thai food snacks, lunch, some other bits and bobs. Have already recommended it to a work colleague who is visiting Bangkok for the first time with his family in a couple of months, plenty of restaurants upstairs.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten December 1, 2023
- Kathy D4 contributionsWorth the visit! This fun spot has just about everything you need. A whole floor dedicated to clothes, and I easily found breezy cotton pants and a sleeved shirt to wear to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho. Make sure to check out the food court on the bottom level. From dim sum to biryani, it's got everything. Best of all, it's adjacent to 2 train lines, so it's easy to get to.Visited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten January 11, 2024
- deanRojales, Spain230 contributionsAsian food court is amazing and crazy cheap. Must pre load a ticket with money before you order food!Great mall, lots of shops, easy to get too. The reason we loved it so much was the food court, it’s brilliant. Top floor lots of clean street food vendors selling all Asian foods, 70bht for a curry So cheap So clean Better than most restaurants.Visited January 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten January 27, 2024
- Simon D358 contributionsGood Look Around Huge Shopping ComplexLike most things in Bangkok, for first time visitors the Terminal 21 complex is impressive. Directly opposite the Asok Railway Station the access is immediate. The directions to the centre are easy, or just follow the crowds. Once inside, the aircon is a relief, lots of shops to see and visit. There is also a range of smaller more traditional shops, more like one person affairs. There are lifts and escalators to move one between floors. We used the escalators to travel up then the lift to return to the main floor to exit to the rail station. Everyone is polite and helpful, perhaps only the shoppers and tourists one should be wary off. Still great place to visit.Visited March 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten March 14, 2024
- Anand SethiHong Kong, China195 contributionsLost its charm mall in BangkokUsed to be the best shopping mall experience in Thailand. Now been taken over by Emquartier. The shopping experience has gone down as most of the time level shops have turned into a bucket shop like wholesale shopping experience with many small shops, the experience is less thrilling than what used to be at the time when it first opened. Its location is excellent with direct access to Asok BTS and a Grand Centre point o. Top of the mall. Lots of eateries…..Visited March 2024Traveled with familyWritten April 8, 2024
- macedonboyGlasgow, United Kingdom186,708 contributionsThemed Shopping MallI visit this shopping centre a lot whenever I'm in Bangkok as it's so close to Asok, Sukhumvit and Nana Stations. The levels are themed by country/continents and my favourite is is the Japan level for all the fun statues dotted around the concourse. There is a good mix of international and mid-level brand. There's also a lot of budget shops as well, more than I remember from 10 years back.Visited April 2024Traveled with friendsWritten April 12, 2024

Visited twice during recent trip as it was near our apartment. Like most malls, it’s huge, spacious, full of amenities and shopping/ food choices. What makes it different from other malls is that every level has a different city theme, eg rome, turkey, London, New York, Japan, etc.
Went exploring the toilets at each level to see the different themed toilets just for the fun of it. Of course, given the coronavirus anxiety, we also washed our hands at every level.

Terminal 21 is a unique shopping center. The architecture is fabulous. The concept of interior design really impressed me. Even the restrooms are so interesting that we did visit each restroom on each level to discover their unique interior and decorations.
This shopping center is also a heaven for those who seek the local fashion brands.
A must-visit-shopping center in Bangkok.

This shopping mall was designed as if it was a airport terminal, and each floor is themed as a different city, which makes it cool.
It has cinemas, main stream shops, restaurants and a food court in the basement that looks as a Thai market with tasty affordable food. Just be aware that in the basement there are no tables or chairs, so you will have to eat standing.
But as we said before, there are restaurants were you can sit to have a nice meal, too.

We really enjoyed the whole theme of this mall as it was something really new to us. The mall offered a great variety of restaurants at the food court and we especially liked the little alleys with their shops. Not the cheapest but all branded clothing and chain restaurants there.

The mall is almost on the Pattaya beach. It is filled with a lot of shopping options ranging from stalls selling items from 10baht each to shops selling iPhones. The mall is huge and is designed on the theme of airport terminals. There are a lot of eateries inside and some truly amazing shops which are not available in India. The superhero store is a must to check out for superhero lovers. There are lot of picturesque locations created inside with boats, Japanese cherry blossoms, etc with nice seating. Overall it takes a good value as a mall.

Bangkok has many, many markets and shopping malls. Terminal 21 is easily accessed from use the sky train and is a themed shopping centre. Each floor is named after a country or town and then themed the décor on the floor to match. There was a Paris floor with an Eiffel Tower and Tokyo floor both selling mostly women’s clothes, some normal up market shops but also some narrow lanes with tiny boutiques. London with a bus, tube train and beefeater guard was selling mens wear and Istanbul was largely selling jewellery. San Francisco was mostly a food court. There was also the Caribbean and Rome. A new twist on a malls with a theme making shopping more interesting and merging both up market shops with market stalls. Would recommend if you are in the area.

Suck great food at the Terminal 21 food court situated on the top floor of the centre. Great variety and well priced! Visited here a couple of times.
Rest of the centre is a great place to meander through the maze of corridors and finding unique little pieces from artisans and designers. Food market in the basement area isn't bad either.

It's so convenient> connected to Asok BTS station and Grande Centrepoint Hotel T21. Sufficient variety of shops. Great place if you are looking for products made by local artisans. The food court has a good variety of street food like papaya salad, coconut ice cream serve on the coconut with shell and mango with coconut rice @ affordable prices!!! Shakes are deliz!!! There is also a stall that serves vegetarian food. We were never sick eating the food here.
On the 4th and 5th floor many good restaurants to choose from. Cinema (when you need a rest splurge on VIP class) and gym on the top floor. Starbucks is popular with tourists! WiFi is free...

Definitely one of the more user-friendly malls in Bangkok with each floor having a different city-themed decor giving it more interest than just what’s in the shops and making it easier to find one’s way around than the dismal sameness of some other shopping centers.
The True Coffee shop on the 6th floor has a seating area with a large window offering views across the lake in Benjakitti Park to the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
The Lower Ground floor hosts a branch of Gourmet Market which has a good selection of food at high prices.

No idea! Century 21 is country themed! With the UK on one floor, Tokyo on another and the basement is a supermarket with food stops like Noodles or Thai street food! If it’s your first visit, suggest your start from the top down!
Enjoy! I will be back there in four months and cannot wait!

Which floor is Destiny's cafe in Terminal 21?
Written December 16, 2019
I don’t recall a Destiny Cafe in Terminal 21. I checked the Terminal 21 website but could not find it. You can check with the concierge/info desk at Terminal 21 and they can help you if it’s there. I tried Googling for it and the only one I found is called Cafe de Destiny in Thong Lor in a couple of TripAdvisor posts but they were dated way back in 2012 so it’s possible it does not exist anymore.

There is also a high end supermarket called Gourmet Market at the bottom of Terminal 21 that has a nice bakery section.
