A wonderful experience. You will see the city in another way. The guide is a real plus: more personal, you will see the city less touristic, more local in security. It’s cool and relax. Not difficult at all even with children. It’s my best memory in Bangkok!

We were challenged to the 'Siam Tara Combo Tour'....about 6 hours of being on the move. We were a family with the youngest rider being 10yo. First time in Bangkok and I can say it was an enjoyable way to get your bearings and see so much that this vibrant city has to offer. Peter, our guide, was very charismatic and upbeat. He offered to tailor the tour to suit us given we had a child and this was reassuring. Fortunately we were the only ones on the tour so lucky for us. Nevertheless, given the 30+ degree heat on the day, we found the 6 hour tour to be just about right.

Touring the Bangkok streets on a Sunday was beneficial as the streets and footpaths were not so chaotic therefore more manageable. This was deliberate by us. There is a bit of sidewalk riding. Peddling down the backstreets of communities was amazing. We got smiles from the locals everywhere we rode ... such wonderful people and culture. expressing the true colours of Thailand!

We recommend the tour however if you are not a frequent rider your backside might be a little sore by the end of it. Thanks Peter...you did a great job.

This was my third tour with FOLLOW ME, and I must say, they consistently offer an exceptional way to discover Bangkok. The guide was awesome, providing a well-structured and engaging program. I particularly appreciated the photos our guide took and shared with us post-tour – a thoughtful and excellent service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and another tour with FOLLOW ME when I return to Bangkok. A heartfelt thanks for another memorable experience!

We did a full day tour with Follow Me Bike Tours the other day. The tour consisted of half a day of walking / tasting street food in the city, followed by an afternoon of biking around the congested but colorful streets of the old city.

Bangkok is an exciting city and I'm very glad that we signed up for such a tour. We discovered local treasures and also explored the city from a new perspective. Having said that we felt a few things could have been done better:

Food tour: The morning exploring food was great and the better part of the day for sure. They told us to show up without eating breakfast. We were hungry when we arrived at the meeting point and it took us another hour before we were guided to the the first tasting So basically until 11 am we had not eaten or drunk anything and had starting getting a headache walking around hungry on the hot streets. This may be ok for some but my friend and I are used to eating a decent breakfast to start the day. Our guide (can't remember her name offhand) was very sweet, informative and friendly. I'd recommend that they either advise us to eat breakfast beforehand, or provide us some munchies to get the morning started. Another bit of false advertising: They told us that we are not required to carry any money as they'll look after food / drinks. Sorry not true We had to buy our own water, coffee etc. We were probably a bit aggravated because we didn't get any food almost until lunch time.

Bike tour:
The bike tour was fun definitely a great workout. We were unfortunately rushed through busy streets on a hectic schedule and didn't really have time to understand or explore. Plus it was a big group and I think the guide (who was working hard) was over-stretched trying to manage the different skill-levels and having to run off every few minutes looking for folks who had fallen behind. It's great to cover ground but without context or guiding we don't really know what we are seeing. I recommend equipping the guide and the riders with handsets so we can be better informed about what we are visiting. A lot of us could have used a break or two to refuel and recharge, however we didn't appear to have the time to do so. We had a few folks falling off their bikes in the rush to get back ( as it was getting dark). Maybe reduce the length of the tour spending more time at each place (quality over quantity)? After arrival we didn't find the well-anticipated BBQ but were instead asked to order a small thai dish from a takeaway restaurant. No explanations provided.

I do recommend the guided food tasting / bike tour as a great way to explore BKK but would urge readers to do their research thoroughly on selecting the right outfitter.

Dear TA reviewer, Many thanks for your review. It is a bit sad to hear through this community that you did not like our tour. Neither do we understand why you post this nearly 3 months after your tour but in the meantime emailed us before your review to collect the complementary pictures that our guide makes during the tour. It has struck us as we can't find any fault. Reading your review I read so many details that are not 100% true at all. Please read my comments below on your review: You: We did not got our first dish till at least 1 hour in the tour. Me: You booked the tour at the last minute, 1.5 hours before the tour started. To me this sounds like you already had your breakfast and looking to do something for the day. If you and your friend really like a good breakfast for the day and you booked this tour 1.5 hrs before the start of the tour I believe that you already had your breakfast. Most happy to provide your booking details. Further to that I would like to add that the 1 restaurant is just around the corner and according to the receipts from that restaurant and the time stamp you had your first dish at 10:31AM. You: Falls advertising! You need to carry money to buy water Me: Another falls statement! At your first dish you are served food and you also get your 1st drink which is a bottle of water with choice of Coke or Pepsi. Your first dish was at the muslim restaurant where you also has a bottle of water. Again, we have receipt to prove this. We serve drinks all the time but if you want an expresso at a muslim restaurant we can't do that. We will need to get this for you from another source. You were told this but you where not happy with the answer from our "very sweet" guide that morning. You: "Bit aggravated as no food till lunch time" Me: First you say that we did not serve you anything till11am and now you claim you got aggravated cause you had nothing till lunch almost time. I am sorry.. I have no comments to this as it is already very clear that you are reviewing us 3 months later in a not so nice manner. Was it not 11AM you claimed your first dish appeared after booking this tour 1.5 hours before departing time? Now you say that its almost Lunch time. You: We were rushed through the tour and had no time to hear or explore Me: Again you are making a false statement. You were never rushed at anyway. As our guides make pictures with a device that also tracks their speed and stops through a GPS operated camera . We use this to monitor the guides performances and as I looked at this I found nothing wrong at all! In fact you wearing the funky sun glasses seem to have the best fun out of all looking at the pictures your guide took. You: The group was to big and guide overstretched Me: 8 people on your tour with 2 guides. 1 up front and the second at the back. You: It would ave been good if we could have had a break or 2 during the trip. Me: Again a false claim. You had several breaks and the GPS and tour pictures proof that. In my personal message to you when I asked to explain what was wrong you even mentioned that you where given drinks out of plastic bags during one of those stops. My explanation is again very simple since we are dealing for 80% with tourists. The plastic bags with your drink are part of the tour. Part of the experience. Again I have the pictures of your tour and also emailed you those upon your request. So you did have at least 3 stops! You: After your tour you could not find the well anticipated BBQ Me: Again false! All guest are asked to watch our instruction movie before the start of the tour. You watched it as well! During that video we explain very very clear that you have a group choice on what you want to eat for lunch/ dinner. Even when certain people in the group don't want the Thai food we still allow for a BBQ in a separate manner. The guides even ask each and every one again. Never been a problem. You choose to have Thai diner instead of BBQ with all other riders on the group. I could go on and on defending myself. But at the end of the day this is how you felt and we are sorry for that of course. However I do stand for what we put out everyday and am pretty shocked by what you are portraying and those are my honest reviews on your review. As a tour operator we are powerless against reviews and our only tool is telling our side toward what has been published and what I wrote is the truth and nothing else. Kindest regards, Ray

This is a very professional setup. You can be assured your safety comes first. The bikes are well maintained and you're provided with clear road safety instructions. Our tour guide was friendly, attentive and constantly checking we were safe.

We opted for the food bike tour, however, I did feel the food aspect was very underwhelming. En route our breakfast stop was closed but we were not offered an alternative, the rest of the food offered was token bites of street food. I felt we were offered the minimum that could be offered for it be called a food tour. I would recommend they either charge more and make the food offered substantial or be more transparent about whats on offer to manage guests expectations, as some guest may feel shortchanged.

Have said all that, this tour was outstanding, your immersive into the heart of Bangkok. Your taking into back streets, canals, rivers, temples, graveyards, markets and numerous communities.

- Food tour needs more improvement.
+ You're insured, Safe equipment, excellent tour routes, great tour guide.

The aim of my reviews is to reflect my personal experience but also to provide practical advice to enhance other travellers experience.

I love to do bike tours on the first day of a holiday, it really gives you a good sense of the city and the people. I've done many bike tours in many cities around the world.
Follow Me bike tours have really nice guides who go out of their way to be helpful, a relaxing club house and a fish spa for afterwards (weird sensation - little fish nibbling on your feet!!).
I'm just not sure that the city is particularly conducive to a bike tour. We spent hours riding around, but I felt like we only saw 3 or 4 major sights and LOTS of time riding through alleys.
It's definitely important to see both sides of the city - the major keynote sights + the way normal people live, it just felt a little imbalanced. It may be just due to the fact that there aren't more major sights within cycling distance.

We saw a temple, old customs house, Banyan tree, flower market, giant buddha, crossed the river on ferries. There were quite a few food and toilet stops, we even got to eat bugs from a street side stall.

It was a good day and I'm glad we did the tour (we did the food tour in the morning), I just felt that in comparison to other cycling tours in other cities there was more riding and less major sights to see.

If you have a free day it's still worth doing, and the company does take good care of you.

Dear TA reviewer, Thanks for sharing your thoughts with fellow travelers about Bangkok and your thoughts about it. I can't stop to think that maybe you have forgotten to review Follow Me as a company as such. Our Food Tour you rated with 5 stars in the same capital, the biking part with 3 stars. Since you booked the Bike and Food tour together I am clueless about your review rating. Best regards, Ray

So most of it is just riding a bike through the city with all its traffic, dogs, alleys, etc. I rather enjoyed it because it was exercise and had a thrill of danger, especially when somehow we got behind schedule and was biking home after dark. You get to see the city more up close than any cab ride can get you.

The guy is very friendly but this kind of contributed to the lateness of the group I feel like. The "tour" consists of one temple, a flower market, pier, and like 2-3 drink stops. At one point you ride a ferry over the river and back. Kind of sucks having to carry the bike on and off but if you're not fit enough to do that you shouldn't be biking.

I enjoyed the tour as it was just an easygoing ride around town. We could have lingered less at stops which would have helped with not going over time so much - you can tell he was a bit nervous at that part. One of my friends actually fell at one point and he had to get his first aid kit out.

Oh, they also have the fish that eats the dead skin off your feet - no charge bonus.

We have been to bangkok a few times and this time round, we thought of doing something different.
Signed up for the bike tour online and it was fast and easy. The directions given were quite comprehensive except for the part where we need to cross the road using the pedestrian bridge.
Bicycles given were ok. However, some were better than the other.
The route taken was good. We get to cycle through small alleyways, along the river, and through the markets. This is something you won't experience if you visit the normal tourist areas.
My gripe is that if the guide was better, the trip will be much better. It didn't start well when he tried to be funny by telling some silly jokes. The website mentioned that we will get to try some street food but all we got was coke and chips. A trained guide will make a world of difference for such tours.
For a different experience, I highly recommend the bike tour but do check whether their guides are experience and itinerary.

Dear TA Reviewer, Thank you very much for joining our "Siam Boran" tour on Aug 11th, 2013. We currently have 3 different tours on offer and the one you picked was the half day bicycle tour which incl. soft drinks and snack PLUS lunch/dinner afterwards. Our Guides are perfectly trained and at every historical stop they do explain thoroughly about the significancy of the building/ temple or statue. The pictures we took during our tours, and emailed you, showed me a lot of interest from your side. A few things I do need to clarify here as I don't want to confuse other readers in what you are writing: 1: Singing up is as easy as 123 as you mentioned and the instructions we give with the improved VDO in our email is no problem as you already outlined. 2: Bicycles are ok, some better than others. We have different kind of bicycles to use. MTB and city bikes. Mostly MTB are mostly used on the Siam Sawan Tour as we counter a bit more off road track as shown in the video before the start of the tour. However customers can take any model bike they prefer. We are sorry if you should encountered a problem with your choice of bike. 3: Our guides are witty and extremely knowledgeable. Some times they make jokes to keep it all fun and easy going. Sorry if ,Peter, your guide during your tour did not match your kind of humor at the start of the tour. We have addressed this for the future. 4: On of your problems addressed and resulting in a low rating was that you found it lacking of street food as seen on our website. If you read our website you will see that food tasting is only provided during our full day Siam Aharn tour. The tour of your choice was the half day bicycle tour that includes Soft drinks/ Water/ Snack & Luch or dinner after the tour. I did try to contact you regarding this but as a lack of respond from your side I explain it here for you to read. So if you do like to book a tour with us please read carefully what tour you book. Siam Boran = Historical and Siam Aharn = Bike and Eat. Warmest regards, Ray
