Chef LeeZ led a warm, informative hands-on class. Before beginning, we toured the market from which many of her ingredients came. Our party included two eleven year olds who were rapt and involved. Recipes allow transfer from her kitchen to ours!

l eflt really at ease attending this Thai cooking class. Chef Leez was excellant and very informative. It was a very light hearted approach to learning how to cook Thai and gave a lot of background info and details about how to cook Thai food. Her facilities were also very good with lots of hands on prep and cooking. Great experience

This cooking class was incredible! Chef LeeZ is so personable and knowledgeable. The class was small and we had so much one on one attention.

I am a vegetarian and she adapted the recipes so wonderfully! The dishes you learn are all so delicious and she makes it so easy to learn- I have been home for three months and can now make the most delicious pad Thai!

I strongly recommend that you book this class while in Bangkok! It’s so worth it.

Also, take a grab taxi there- the easiest way!

Last year I did the Thai cooking class solo with Chef LeeZ as my timings and day was not on a regular class schedule. Chef LeeZ was very accommodative to spend time with me and teach nuances of Thai cooking. She also adjusted her class based on my preferences and food allergies. She is so lively & fun to learn with that I actually felt bad when the class was over. I also got the access to her website full of delightful recipes. Now I cook Thai food very regularly & confidently. if you are in Bangkok, please do yourself a favor & register for her class. I promise it will be very learning and delicious time spent in Bangkok. Can’t wait to visit this lovely chef again. I wish her all the success for future.

I just stopped by this morning for a 10am class with Chef Leez. She made it amazing! Due to coronavirus, I was lucky enough to have a solo class with her.

The food was fantastic, she gave me hands-on instruction, and we had fun chats during the entire class.

She really helped me get into the experience of cooking Thailand’s #1 dishes, and it’s a souvenir that I can keep enjoying for the rest of my life.

Thank you Chef Leez!

If you are looking for an advanced Thai culinary adventure then I do not recommend this course. However, if you are a budget concious traveller looking for a quick introduction to various Thai dishes then this is the course for you.

First the class is big; about 20 ppl squeezed into a small room with tiny prep counters. When we fried the hot chilies, the entire room was full with pungent smoke and aroma.

Second, in order to expedite things much faster much of the prep is already done by the sous chefs ahead of time and during the class; that said so you are not getting the full culinary experience.

Third, portions are tiny! You will need a meal afterwards so plan ahead. Finally it's really rushed; I truly can't recreate any of the dishes at home as it went so fast.

Chef LeeZ Thai Cooking Class Bangkok asks: "Are you sure that you were in a Chef LeeZ group class and not a some other cooking school?" I do not believe we have not had a group class in excess of 14 students since the Christmas / New Years holiday season when we offered an alternate 3 pm group class to all registered students. Our average group class is less than 8 students. Chef LeeZ group class is not for budget minded individuals unless you are referencing the cost per dish learned (12 dishes learned) at a cost of under 200 baht per dish making the cost per dish the lowest in Thailand. The group class itself is believed to be the 3rd most expensive cooking class in Bangkok at near 2300 baht for the group class. Our Seri Thai classroom opened May 20th and is thought to be the largest cooking classroom in Bangkok with two separate classrooms of 45 sq meters each. The prep classroom is air conditioned while the 10 station cooking classroom is enclosed with mosquito screen to keep the flies and mosquitoes out but allow for free flow to reduce the cooking smoke. We've never had tiny prep counters in fact we've always had stainless steel tables with stainless steel chairs. Each prep table comfortably seats 4 people. So once again we ask: "are you sure you are describing your Chef LeeZ cooking class experience? Hundreds of reviews say don't eat breakfast first as you will be stuffed when you leave. Our staff prep peel the garlic and shallots and measure out the soya sauce and the amount of each ingredient for each dish our students do the chop and slice and clean their shrimp and even create their own coconut cream and milk. Chef Lee is not a clock watcher and by that I mean larger classes (10 or more students) often go an hour past the scheduled finish time. Have you signed up for your free membership to our recipe club where you will find over 60 gourmet Thai recipes and many how to videos there, created as students reminders of what was covered in class on each of the dishes? If indeed you were at a Chef LeeZ Thai Cooking Class Bangkok group class we sincerely apologize for your disappointment in your class experience as it is truly Chef Lee's intention to impart the knowledge to enable her students to create gourmet Thai cuisine when they return to their home country.

Although we arrived late, Chef Leez's assistant had no problem escorting us to the nearby market where the rest of the class was out shopping for the lesson's meals. We walked to the market where we were met by Chef Leez who was enthusiastically describing all the items she was purchasing. She gave a lot of tips regarding what to buy and what to stay away from. It was obvious she cared about the quality and health of all her ingredients.

When it came time to cook, we all paired with our companions and we each got a turn to cook. We were given aprons and a recipe book to guide us as we followed her. All of the dishes we made were delicious. I'm not used to shrimp paste as I have an aversion to cooking with shrimp brains and such, but it was surprisingly tasty when she spread it on a piece of bread. My favorite was the sticky rice topped with mango slices and coconut milk.

Chef Leez, if you're reading this, I didn't appreciate the black joke that you made that day. You said that during one summer, you tanned a lot and your family made fun of you for it. You also said that it made you look ugly. I saw in your eyes the moment you realized what you said when you looked at me and my husband and said "Oh, but not you! You're beautiful!" I'm not offended in the least, but saying things like that is rude.

Nonetheless, I had a great time and enjoyed myself so much that I bought one of Chef Leez's aprons as a souvenir. Unfortunately, I ended up with the runs a half hour upon leaving the class. I suppose shrimp paste doesn't agree with me after all.

Thai Culture 101 Chef lee herself is not prejudiced but Thai's as a whole are a very prejudiced lot! A Thai will not date another person with a skin darker than their own! Beauty products all advertise skin whitener not SPF 50 but imply that the product will remove the dark pigment of your skin. Chef LeeZ story on white skin is beautiful and black skin is not .. relates to her having been swimming for several weeks in the mid day sun and going from brown to dark dark brown and how her father refused to talk to her because dark skin, as in most Asian countries, implies you work outside and you earn small money. This white skin is beautiful and dark skin is not can be seen being instilled on the children where you will see that parents wanting their children to be more beautiful than the neighbors children actual purposely put white powder on their children's faces as white is beautiful and black is not. You will also see this on many of the generation of Thai's that are 50 years and older. So very sorry if you felt Chef Lee was being skin color prejudiced. I assure you that is not the case. As a result of your review Chef Lee will now include, as a prelude to her story, "IN Thai Culture, "white skin is beautiful and black skin cannot be beautiful". Personally I believe this prejudice was instilled by the rich Chinese who settled in Thailand as they have fair skin and that meant they were beautiful and Thai's could not be beautiful. So glad you enjoyed the class just the same.

I first came here with friends 3 years ago and we had such a great time with Chef LeeZ, when my partner and I booked this vacation I just knew I had to bring him. Chef LeeZ keeps the class fun, educational, and just a little bit sassy 😉 Oh, and it’s some of the most delicious Thai food you’ll ever eat, anywhere (and you can tell friends you cooked it yourself!)

I have travelled all over the world and take cooking classes in the countries I visit.
I found the class to be good. Chef Leez makes the class interesting with anecdotes.
I found the material to be somewhat disorganized. Teaching method was a little haphazard where we were jumping around (which is fine given there were many dishes) but in some classes the instructor didn't go back to some of the dishes to close the loop.
The recipe copy I got doesn't have quantities listed against the ingredients so hard to cook at home with the recipes

Chef LeeZ Thai Cooking Class in Bangkok review 1006. Are you certain you were in a Chef LeeZ Class? Near 1000 reviews disagree with your "Jumping around" in class description. The class is very well organized with each student prep for a dish then cooking it and then eating it. As per our 10 am class page you learn 12 dishes in a single class. That takes 3 classes elsewhere. The recipes of the class are photo copied as a hand out before class and I just checked it and all of the dishes have ingredient quantities shown. So again I ask are your sure you attended a Chef LeeZ class? Also included for all students is FREE unlimited access to our our on-line recipe book with over 70 recipes including Vegan recipes and many how to videos designed to remind students of what they took in class. Hundreds of reviews claim their Chef LeeZ Thai Cooking Class Bangkok to be the best cooking class they have taken anywhere in the world! Hundreds more claim the cuisine they created in class to be the best Thai food they have eaten anywhere in the World.

This is a must do in Bangkok. We only wish we did it on our first day instead of last due to the many things we learned. Chef Leez took us to a local food market and taught us how she shops for vegetables, herbs and shrimp. Her basic rule is that if it is "BEAUTIFUL" she will not buy it. You will need to go to one of her lessons to find out why! We learnt how to make the different types of curries, pad Thai and Tom Yum. It was very interesting for us since we can find the ingredients she uses in our local markets. She showed us how to make coconut milk from a raw coconut but using this old fashion tool and also showed us how to prepare whole seeds for spices. All the men in the group indicated that they liked spicy foods so she had them prepare the spiciest of the food recipes. We had to open the doors of the shop as everyone started choking and laughing at the same time it was quite hilarious! After the class my husband expressed interest in purchasing one of the coconut tools and the mortar for grinding spices. She offered to take us to the China Town Market area to purchase. It was a good thing as I am sure we would have failed in finding and negotiating for it. We ended up purchasing both items and tonight we are making our first true Thai food back home using her techniques and recipes. Chef Leez is truly engaged and cares about what she teaches - you will not be disappointed. You will also receives her recipes and options to get more on line free of charge. This is an memory which will continue on with each dish we prepare at home. Thanks Chef Leez.
